The bartender was awesome. Very good at his job. I came in at 6:30 on a weekday. Not to crowded. Drink was good & strong. Definitely missed the rush, could tell by all the dirty tables. One of the better 19th holes I've seen in Oregon (Robert's is located at the Big Meadow golf course). Very nice interior with lots of tables and booths. Several TVs running with golf and other sports (Wimbledon men's final when I was there). Outside patio is also nice although maybe some more umbrellas for shade would be in order. No one wants to come off the course on a hot summer day and sit in the sun while toasting the round. I've only been here once, so I haven't explored the menu. Incredible salads, appetizers, and entrees. Ordered a spicy blood (with infused habanero) and a Cobb salad with fries. Soooo good!

I've eaten here several times and always disappointed in the food quality. The salmon was overcooked and under seasoned, very boring. Same with the corned beef; don't bother. Had the sundae for dessert and it was simply a bowl of ice cream with whipped topping. Nothing special at all. Diary Queen sundaes have more going for them than this one. Food is mediocre. Worst of all is the service. The wait staff seems to be trying, but the kitchen is extremely slow at preparing meals. We've waited between 30-40 minutes, each time, after ordering our food before it finally arrives. I would not recommend. read more

Oh man what a delicious surprise! Sam, the chef trained at CIA, put together the BEST Fat Tuesday meal of gumbo and Étouffée we have had! Such an incredible meal! Is it weird to say that Robert's Pub got better during COVID? I've been there quite a few times and my most recent one was the best yet. Easy reservations and a lot of social distancing. Great service, very clean, and excellent food! They didn't have the GOAT fried chicken sandwich on the menu, however the had a grilled version. Was it AS good as the fried one? My chicken sandwich was very good but my husband had the chicken wings & was very disappointed. They weren't crispy, a bit damp, very spicy (& he normally loves spicy) & only came with ranch dressing. He likes his wings with celery or carrots but these did not come with those. Food was over cooked and underwhelming. We had a burger, meat loaf sliders and fish and chips. We had to use a steak knife to cut the fish. The chips and fries with the burger were thin sliced limp potatoes and not good. The onion rings with the sliders were tasteless and the sliders were not very good. I didn't even know that this place was here! We went here because the lodge restaurant by the lake was closed. This place doesn't have as great of a view, but it was fine.. Chilly when we were there outside, but we all did ok. Came here as a group after a camping weekend. I had their house red wine and a salad. It was pretty good to me! Wait staff was friendly. We have been going to Robert's for many years as a visitor and homeowner. The service used to be very good. But, this last year the Pub lost its way. We like to go and have an appetizer and a couple beverages in the afternoon in the bar area before dinner service begins. On a recent visit, the current Pub staff does not seem to be proactive in helping each other. The bartender was backed up with orders from the golfers passing through; I had to go to the bar and place our order. This is while the other staff were using the bar as a break room, drinking & having a good time. They could not be bothered to bring us water and note that the bar is a little behind. This has happened more than once this year. Hopefully, next year's staff will be more attentive. Even though we live at the Ranch, we are done with the Pub. Going to Sisters is a better option. They will get one chance after next spring's opening. read more

We came into town with our young kids (3 & 5 yo) instead of getting annoyed looks when we walked in with our kids- Chip opened the door and gave them their own coloring page & crayons with a welcoming smile. Perfect light dinner. The roasted Brussels sprouts were crisp, sweet, and tangy. The fish and chips were delightful, the fish was crisp and tender and the fries were fresh and hot. As locals from Sisters and Bend, we usually like Robert's Pub. We enjoy sitting on their deck overlooking the first fairway. One other member of our party and I had one of the lunch specials, a shrimp melt. I should have sent it back. Crispy toast with a slice of unmelted cheese and a glob of shrimp salad. Looked like they were made up well in advance and put in the freezer. Others in our party had a Reuben, that they loved, a pulled pork sandwich, which they loved, A salmon sandwich, that was tasty. And a beet salad, also good. Tuna melt was not on the regular menu, wouldn't order it again for sure. Our waitress was wonderful! We will be back. read more

I visited Robert's Pub last weekend for the first time. I live in Central Oregon, but just haven't made my way over there. Was visiting friend that were staying in Black Butte so we met there. As soon as I walked in I felt a very warm welcome from friendly, professional staff. Once seated in the the pub, I enjoyed a perfect glass of pinot grigio, and beautiful shrimp louie, with lots of fresh shrimp, eggs, and greens. I definitely will be back. We came here for dinner tonight. We made a reservation since we had 6 people but showed up and the place was pretty empty. We were seated right away. Aaron was our server and he was good! We had a severe nut allergy in our group and he was diligent about making sure nuts were not in contact with our food. I had the salmon sandwich and it was ok. The salmon only fit about 1/2 of the bun so it was a small piece. The sweet potato fries with garlic aioli was amazing! Also the deviled eggs with smoked salmon were really good. Was staying at the Black Butte Ranch and decided to try this place and was pleasantly surprised. Really pretty good food all around with a little bit of innovation. We started with the deviled eggs with smoked steelhead and it was great, 4/5. The fish and chips was solid too, especially the fries as was the side salad 4/5. Food was a little pricey, but not for resort food. Overall a good experience. Check it out. read more

New Executive chef has really improved Robert's Pub. The New York strip steak is the best in central Oregon. And check out the chicken pot pie. (Yes, chicken pot pie). First time visiting Roberts Pub even though we've stayed at BBR many times. I'll start with the good points. Seated immediately, ambiance was nice, server was friendly and prompt taking our order. Now the bad. It took what felt like forever to get our appetizer and food and when asked after waiting 20 min we were informed that the kitchen was very behind and they had only two people working. I know there were people seated outside but inside was empty. I don't mind waiting for food but communication when you walk in and are seated would've been helpful. And then the food was not great. My husband got fish and chips (I stay away unless seafood has rave reviews or I'm on the Oregon coast!) and I had the pub burger. My burger was good, nothing outstanding but good. The fish however was very disappointing. Lots of breading, batter was bland and so was the tiny pieces of fish inside. I sampled his fries and thought the fries were ok but my husband said these were greasy too. And paying nearly $100 for this didn't make things better. Overall I would probably not return. Drive to Sisters or Bend for more and better options. read more

We live on the Ranch and have dined and met friends for drinks at the Pub for many years. On a whole, we have had great experiences there. Unfortunately, last Friday we met friends for dinner and opted to dine outside since we felt saver due to Covid issues. Service was poor, the dinners were not up to the usual standards. I had the special "Steak Frites" dinner. It was the toughest steak I have ever experienced on the Ranch. The provided steak knife did not help. The mushroom gravy at the bottom of the dish was warm, and left the steak fries soggy. One of our friends ordered the Rueben, which is one of my goto sandwiches, it was, also, not up to the usual. Hopefully, it was only a bad night for the chef; it happens. We are going to hold off on meals here for awhile, but will meet friends for bar beverages. They have not let me down. read more

We normally love Robert's Pub, but we were very disappointed with the available menu options over the Memorial Day weekend. More than half (4 out of 7) of the entrees on the menu were sold out by 7 pm and the few vegetarian options were gone. The salads were limited as they also ran out of romaine lettuce. Wow! Awesome view and fantastic food. We were vacationing from Southern CA and this place did not disappoint. Robert's pub was highly recommended by some local Oregonians in Sisters, OR. The new chef Mark even came out of the kitchen and personally introduced himself and asked how we liked the special entree that we ordered. Well, it was fantastic! It was sherry-braised shrimp with linguisa sausage, and fried risotto balls, leek with fennel seed and sweet bell peppers. Amazing!!!!!!!!!! For appetizers, we ordered grilled Black Cod Tacos which was very good, except it should have been served on corn tortillas, in my opinion. We also ordered the special Bloody Mary with bacon-infused Vodka. One of the best bloody mary's ever! And a dessert drink, the Coffee Nudge. So yummy. read more

Love all of the eating options at Black Butte Ranch. My family has enjoyed Robert's several times while the Lodge is being remodeled. We have taken food to go back to the house and have enjoyed several dinners in the restaurant. Last night we went with friends (4 adults and 4 kids age 10-16) and had a wonderful meal. Paul was our server - and he is always excellent! Started with the oyster special - very good - and our standard favorite the sweet potato fries. I enjoyed the Rogue burger for dinner while my wife has the steak salad. Both were delicious. Our kids splurged and each had steak and loved them. The kids Mac & Cheese is always a favorite too. Robert's is a very welcoming place. Great employees and a nice atmosphere. Highly recommend all of the BBR restaurants and look forward to the Lodge restaurant and pub opening again in May. read more
