Was driving through an area that I had never been through around lunch time. Stopped to get gas, and spotted this place. Reviews were a little weak, so I almost didn't go. But my stomach won the battle. Walked in to an obviously old establishment in need of new flooring. But I did a quick assessment and realized it was actually very clean, just in need of some updating. I went through and ate at the bar. Decent simple menu, but the food was very good and they even had a small salad bar. It was kind of adorable as I watched regular patrons coming in and my fairly young server greeting most of them by name. If I am coming back through here again, I would definitely stop to eat. read more

My lady had the patty melt with buffalo meat, and I had the buffalo burger, both of which were delicious. Their secret sauce absolutely slaps with both their fries and tots. The layout of the restaurant was nice, with coat racks nearby for all your winter gear, and having one area with a television for people to watch the game without affecting the rest of the restaurant. Service was slightly slow, as there was only one dedicated waitress on duty. The only other gripe is their $7 one-use salad bar plate is so tiny for the price. read more

When our waitress set this pizza on our table my first thought was, better get another one to go! The pizza looked so delicious and I'm happy to report it did not disappoint. One of the best pizzas I've had out in a long time. Luckily we had leftovers and they reheat just as good so make sure to size up. The taco salad I got was palate painful. The dressing was so hot, I could not enjoy the dish. I waited for the server to stop by to let her know but she never stopped by. The other server stopped by her tables a lot and had a visible presence. Our server was a ghost. We finally had to ask that she be found and sent to our table. In case management ever reads this... it was the young blond that didn't check on us. The brunette was the excellent server who took great care of her tables. We won't be back. All it takes is one really bad experience to lose all future business from that customer. read more

I won't even give it one star. I ordered a mini pizza. Cost $14. It was the smallest pizza I've ever seen in my life! 5 inches across/ 4 Tiny slice's! And not very good at all! I feel really Ripped Off! I'm never eating there ever again! You will regret going there. You can get better pizza elsewhere . We frequent their other location on the Mckenzie and this location is similar but it's prices are much more. We have 4 kids so we appreciate when the kids menu has multiple decent priced options, but at this Takodas there wasn't anything under $11.. (not even the peanut butter jelly San which). So that was a little disappointing. The shepherds pie that my husband always gets wasn't as good at this location. Salad bar was on point. Service was very fast. Nice large booths. Stick to your ribs food. Takoda's has everything for a late afternoon picnic or takeaway meal on the grass at your hotel. From burgers to nachos to salads to steaks. They have a little bit of everything. It's a little like a mix of a AppleBees meets Shari's - and it works. It is conveniently located in a strip mall parking lot - for easy access. The staff are super friendly and make customer service their priority. We ordered a bunch of food and the order was somewhat off. My buddy went back to the restaurant and they comped a big portion of the bill. Wow! Talk about great customer service! Is the food great? No. There, however, a number of great reasons to get takeaway food from Takoda's - first and foremost, their great customer service. We'll be back. read more

I have been to the Takoda's up the McKenzie so I thought this would be good. I ordered a burger without a bun due to gluten issues. It was about a 1/4 inch thick prefab disk. Definitely disappointing, and not particularly appetizing. Luckily, the salad bar was pretty decent and fresh. Gonna have to dock this place since my original review is based on quality of food for the price paid. They literally just raised all their entrees by $5. They were okay for $20, but a complete miss at $25. Their large pizzas are now close to $40, and still charge a laughable 50 cent fee if you're carrying out. We get it, tourists will pay this, but you're pricing us locals out of eating here. We have eaten here numerous times in years past and have always had good food. Takado's has great service. The reason they are only getting a 3 star review tonight is due to the sandwich I had. A Philly style Prime Rib French dip. Absolutely zero flavor. Worst sandwich EVER! And the coleslaw was terrible. I think they put the smallest amount of dressing on it they possibly could. It was perfect for our needs: a family friendly restaurant that had food that would work for our son who is 7 & very picky about eating. We had just come from a hike & I didn't realize how hungry I was -. I had a fabulous side salad, a French dip & then another salad. I inhaled the food. Despite some set backs we really enjoyed the food here, it's worth the wait. We had a typical post church/Sunday 30 minute wait, but the staff was friendly & helpful. we got a to go order to take home, so the wait was expected. They told us they ran out of hollandaise sauce so we ordered something else. When our order was ready they surprised us with having the sauce, just not much of it. The portion was quite small & they forgot my toast :( With all that said my husband enjoyed his country fried steak & my eggs Benedict was the best I've had in years. Loved the flavor. I was here with a group of women, 20. The room was separate and accommodating for us. Most of the women enjoyed their meal. I was disappointed. I am GF. When ordering my dinner the waitress seemed to understand I needed to be GF. My meal came with breaded fried fish tacos. When I restated what GF was she seemed clueless. I changed to chicken. I had a reaction to the food...there must have been gluten in that dish as well. If you are not GF this would have been an ok place for a meal. read more

This place was just across the highway from our hotel and we thought we would give it a try to avoid the congestion of going back through Sisters. While not a fancy place, dining area a bit more upscale than a Shari's restaurant. I was surprised at the number of different types of cuisine you could get. There is definitely something here for everyone. They had the American favorites - burgers and pizza but they also had fan favorites such as meat loaf and some Mexican fare. I had a small pizza about the size of one large slice you would buy at a sporting event. Just the right size and not too bad on taste. They had a selection of beers and wine available as well. I'm not sure about cocktails. Service was quick, efficient, and friendly. I was amazed at the selection of t-shirts, hats, and sweatshirts they had for sale with their logo on them. Service was upbeat and efficient! Food was just okay, thickly sliced red onion was distracting on 2 sandwiches. Not crowded.

Good old Lexi served us today. Not too busy, we had to eat without napkins and silverware, asked for Mayo and ranch... 10 min goes by, and she was heading out to her car leaving. As the owner and all his buddy's where having a jolly old time with there food and beers we sat.. no drinks, nothing.. finally had to go in and ask for bill. Told the bartender our experience And she said oh, sorry about that. (Not her fault) but could have been addressed to the crew outside as they where having a party(get together, meeting?? Who knows.. all I know it this was the worst experience I have ever had at takodas and should have been addressed. Food was great but clearly the management could care less about the service. read more

This is really 2.5 stars but I would rather error on the up-side, in the chance that my meal was just an off day. I ordered the Marionberry Chicken which was interesting, not at all what I had expected, in a weird kind of way. The vegetables were mediocre and kind of greasy. The "Rice Pilaf" was bizarre. It looked like plain, steamed white rice, certainly could be improved. Prior to the chicken, I started with the clam chowder. I have yet to find a chowder that beats Wally's in Des Moines, WA and this was no different. While it had good flavor, big chunks of clams and creamy base, they added tarragon which is just silly. It didn't really help the flavor or the experience. I probably would have really liked it otherwise. The table (four of us) also ordered the wings to start and they were decent, if you like wings you will want them. They are most likely "franks red" or something equivalent. One person at the table ordered a burger, which looked really good but I did not taste. With that burger came fries, which were actually really good! read more

Well, I understand the mixed reviews below. For my fiance and me, we had an easy and wonderful eating experience at this place. We were new to the Sisters, OR town when we were out in Central OR for a little vacation for the week. Someone suggested Takoda's if we would like a quick bite of burgers, sandwiches, and other bar foodies. We really didn't feel like eating the downtown area of Sisters, so we thought we'd settle down for this place, although I was nearly turned off by the reviews on Yelp here. The waitress/hostess seated us down quickly and continued to chat with other people at the next table. We were a bit confused because it took quite a while for the waitress/hostess to come back around for the order. Anyway, there was a waiter, who was quick enough to get our meals started. The burgers came out quickly, and oh man! Everything was perfect and juicy: the meat was, and the sauces were just amazing! Before we headed home to Seattle, WA, my fiance wanted to stop by the restaurant again for a try of the sandwiches on the menu. I was not very hungry, so I decided to order calamari, which was perfectly fried and breaded. Yummy! My fiance ordered a sandwich, and it was simply delectable!
