The server was great, the ambiance/vibe was a little dirty inside (they couldn't keep up with the cleaning), and the food was pretty much exactly what I feared -- bar food that they're trying to push next that would be better off bar food. The peach and tomato burrata was pretty good. It certainly didn't need honey on it, nor the 10 sad croutons it came with. The pretzel was very good, and with a really nice cheese sauce. The hot honey chicken sandwich was not good: I thought they'd be a taste of money in there or maybe some in the sauce, instead the thing was covered in honey inside and out. It was ergo impossible to eat without making your hands super-sticky. And it just wasn't that good. Dial-it back, don't try so hard to be upscale, and don't overfry the chicken. A plain old fried-chicken sandwich would have been much better. The side salad was a surprise winner, really fresh ingredients and great dressing. It was just so greasy and sweet that I felt kinda sick after. You can blame my ordering but I wasn't in the mood for a burger. read more

I really wanted to like this place - it was packed on a Wednesday night and took 45 minutes to get a table for 5 so I had high hopes but the food was mid to not great at best. Two orders of burgers - 1 pub version and another kids order was totally overcooked and almost charred to the point of inedible. Fish and chips were over battered and greasy. Hot honey chicken sando had a soggy bun, overdressed coleslaw and very little chicken - again, overbattered. Our son's friend seemed to like the Rueben but ended up in the bathroom for a bit after he got home so not sure if it was as good as he thought. We also started with some garlic parmesan chicken wings that were crispy but had little flavor. And for some reason, the entire dish underneath the chicken was wet and soggy. Friendly service. My daughter and uncle got the Wagyu sliders and loved them. My son asked for the Wagyu sliders but with all of the toppings subbed out for standard cheeseburger toppings- the waitress smartly suggested he get the kids sliders meal and they'd do 4 sliders instead. He was happy with that! I got the gluten free pub burger and subbed fruit for fries. My bun was so toasted I had trouble eating it and my gums are cut up now. I assume they toasted the heck out of it so it wouldn't disintegrate with all the liquid they put on it (I had a white puddle under my burger by the time I finished). The fries were also super crunchy. And the bacon on my burger was too! 4 stars because I was the only one in my party not happy with my meal. read more

The service that we received was great from Sunriver Brewing considering we were a party of 9 with no reservation. Within 20 minutes, our table was ready and we were seated with drinks and menus in-hand. The food came out exceptionally quickly. We were all served 10-15 minutes of ordering even though the place was somewhat busy (we dined in 3 PM on a Friday). We ordered the steelhead sandwich, three wagyu sliders, bacon brew burger (3), pretzel burger (2), grilled chicken sandwich, mac and cheese, and brewhouse salad. The steelhead sandwich I ordered, I thought, was pretty good, and the people in my party were satisfied with their food too, until someone noticed some pink in their burger. The meal was delicious, but the next day, everyone who had eaten a burger had food poisoning for the next 4-7 days. We believe that they had salmonella. Our suspicion is that the chef handled the beef right after the chicken, and the beef had not reached a high enough temperature to kill the bacteria from the chicken. Safe food handling should be the most important priority in any kitchen. As great as the meal and service was, it is a bummer that 5/9 of my party was sick for the next few days. read more

This is the original location of the now famous and excellent Sunriver Brewing. Years ago this spot in the shopping area housed a small brewing system and bar, the bones of which you can still see near the restrooms. This was a super popular spot! Every table and bar seat were taken, with lively ambience. The bartenders were hard working and so attentive. There's a merchandise area near the entrance, which also has a bunch of canned and bottled beer to go but not as much as other locations. You can walk here from the nearby resort, making it a safe space to imbibe. It's a quick drive from the area as well. Their beer is fantastic, with large pints and clean glassware. It's well worth the visit to see where this place all began! read more

Four stars for Sunriver Brewing Company out here in beautiful Sunriver where the pine trees stand tall and the beer flows like good intentions. We rolled in on a recommendation, which always feels a little like being set up on a blind date. "Trust me," they said. And you know what? The place is nice. Real nice. Warm wood, good vibe, the kind of atmosphere that makes you sit up straighter and pretend you know something about hops. Service? Solid. Friendly. Attentive. Nobody disappeared into the back never to be seen again. Always a plus. My wife ordered a Brew house salad with chicken that she described as "very yummy," which in wife-language translates to: I would order this again and tell my friends about it. That's high praise. Meanwhile, I ventured into quinoa territory. Now I'm pretty sure it was meant to be cold... but it hit the table so chilled I thought it had just come back from skiing Bachelor. A little heat on that bad boy and we might've been in business. Then there was the mac and cheese. Ah yes. The mac. It had that bold, burnt-garlic-on-top energy. A little crispy crown of cheese, which I respect. But underneath? Not much going on. It was like opening a treasure chest and finding a polite suggestion of treasure. Not very juicy. A bit of a macaroni mirage. So here we are: good service, nice setting, one winning salad, one confused quinoa, and a mac that tried its best. Middle-of-the-road food, but a pleasant ride nonetheless. Four stars. I still don't know what they're famous for but I'd go back to find out. read more

Sunriver Brewing company is about 2 minutes from were we were, and decided to do take out. I had the mushroom & cheese pizza which was very good and tasty with lots of mushrooms. My wife ordered the fish & chips, but said the French fries were very salty and had to put it in a colander to shake off the salt. She said the fish was okay, but she didn't finish the French fries and the fish, but said the tartar sauce was good and tasty and Chucky. Came here for dinner on a Saturday night. The place gets busy very quickly. It's loud but the service was very friendly. There is a small kid area for kids to play at inside. We ordered the blood orange burrata as an appetizer, the elk meatloaf, and fish and chips. All the food was delicious. Despite being busy, the food came out quick. Food was decent - we had the summer salad and the steelhead sandwich. Service was not pleasant. Our server barely talked to us and came across like he didn't want to be serving us. It started off with him saying (in front of us) that where the hostess had seated was not his table so maybe that got our relationship off to a bad start? He never checked in with us after the runner had brought our food and had many opportunities to do so. We were friendly and tried not to let his vibe ruin our meal, but it was so glaring that we probably won't take a chance returning. I miss their pub in downtown Bend. A great place to grab lunch in Sunriver. Elk chili is amazing when available in the winter season! I don't drink, so I can't personally comment on the quality of beer or alcohol content. I've seen some awards on the wall for their beer, and most patrons do partake. Anyone that has joined me dining here has always enjoyed their meals too. Service is hit or miss. Some servers are fantastic and check in on their tables frequently, others you get your food and never see them again until the check is dropped. (That's why it's a 4 star rating, not a 5) Ambiance is that of a typical brewery, it's casual, and loud. This isn't somewhere you want to come for a casual business meeting or serious conversations. You won't be able to hear one another, yes it's that loud. Nonetheless, it's a family friendly dining experience. They have a cool little kids play area inside the dining area, to keep little ones entertained with toys and a make believe kitchen. I appreciate the gluten free options available, and the ability to alter dishes for food allergies. If you're in Sunriver, give them a try! read more

Sat at bar for dinner. Got my beer right away. Took a little bit to be asked if I wanted food. I ordered wings. Probably one of my favorites! The screaming kid in the corner never let up. This is a follow up review. A few months ago I wrote a review about the nachos and I didn't recommend them. The restaurant responded by asking me to come back, they sent me a $50 gift card. How is that for standing behind what you are cooking? Yesterday I returned and the nachos had been taken off the menu so we ordered the yummy wings, naked with the buffalo and ranch sauce on the side. We also had the pimento cheese dip and a Ruben sandwich with fries. We sat outside on the patio. The service was excellent! All the food we ordered I recommend, everything was delicious! I can absolutely say that 2 things are undeniable about Sunriver brewing...1) Adam is undeniably the greatest human out there. Waiter/customer service, sure, but that's such low hanging fruit. Robots and AI can seem helpful. Adam was a legend amongst snobs and fake people in this community trying to flex their wallets and chalets. Used to love their hamburgers, but the new version seemed about burger king level. Dry bun, less flavorful meat, iceberg lettuce and no tomato. Sad about the change. I liked this place. Haas the Elk meatloaf. How many places can you say that serves that? It had caramelized onions wrapped in bacon drenched in bbq sauce. I could gone for lighter sauce but it was good. Family also had the kid sliders and fancy grilled cheese with a creamy tomato soup. Little too acidic for me but kid liked it. Very much like most breweries you see in the tea but good food. We sat in the fuzzy tail lounge and later realized we could have sat outside in the warm spring sun. Bar. High tops. Tables. Plenty of room for groups and families. Waiter was awesome, very attentive and friendly. Brought our drinks and food quickly. We had buffalo wings, although I like them a bit more crispy, these were fine with a house blue cheese. We split the bacon burger and it came on split plates which was nice. Not expected but I love that he took time to anticipate that. The fries were seasoned and they had a fry sauce too. Yum! Beer was fuzz tail hefi which was good. We were $62 out the door and it was a good experience. Lots of tv's and sports for those who need to be entertained. Sunday afternoon at 2pm was buzzing but not overwhelming. read more

Went last night for dinner after being out of state for a year. Traditionally one of our favorite watering holes it was a bit off last night. I ordered a Viscious and it was a bit flat...maybe the end of the keg? First time I left a brew pub after one beer that I can ever remember. For food we settled on the brewers salad which was absolutely amazing. A bit heavily dressed but served with more toppings than lettuce!! I followed it up with the elk chili which was like warm but delicious. I typically would have sent it back and asked to be heated up but the patrons had been joyously served and were a little too talkative and loud. We just wanted to eat and get out of there. I left here crying. I don't give many one star reviews at all but if I could give zero, I would. I don't care how good the food was. Our server, for absolutely no reason, was the rudest girl I've ever had the displeasure of being served by. Oh my God, she was so bad. My husband and I saw her pass by our table countless times before finally getting us waters. 10 minutes of waiting. No greeting, just "Are you ready to order?" She then slammed our pretzel on the table and never checked in on us. After finishing the pretzel, we were given our entree (Wagyu Sliders) and she didn't even bother to take our empty pretzel plate. The table was tiny, so it was a struggle to find a place for it without it falling off. We had to ask her to remove it. The food would have been great but my appetite had vanished. It was all pretty bland. We didn't get any beer because I just wanted to leave asap. If her goal was to get us out as quickly as she could, it worked. I was going to give myself a couple stays to get over it, but it's been two days and I'm still brooding over it because I don't get what we did that pissed her off so bad or if she was having a bad day and decided to take it out on customers...I'm never coming back here. They were unfortunately out of the one beer I was most excited to try (Shred Head Winter Ale). Bummer but it happens. What's more surprising is they were also out of pickles for the fried pickle appetizer. We were told it had been a "busy day," yet it was only lunchtime. Considering the shelf life of pickles it seems like that's one ingredient you should never run out of. In any case, two relatively minor inconveniences. And the food we actually got was really good. Turkey Melt - delicious. Nashville Hot Chicken - delicious. Where this place ultimately lost stars was with the service. Our server was timely enough taking our order but after we got our food he didn't come back to check on us until everything was gone and we'd grown tired of waiting to order another round of drinks. It appeared to be an average lunch service; the place was full but with little to no wait to get seated. There also appeared to be plenty of staff on duty so I'm not sure what the issue was but had he been more attentive we likely would've ordered more and he'd have found himself with a higher tip associated with a bigger bill. All in all, not a deal breaker. The food was good enough to bring me back and hopefully they were just having an off day with the service. Guess we'll have to wait and see. read more
