If you're looking for a different place to enjoy some down time I highly recommend this Inn. Quaint rooms, free breakfast and that B&B feel are all here. It's a bit older property but it was an awesome place to stay! Tucked away in the trees you will find a wide array of rooms with king poster beds. The owners are very nice and you will feel like family when you leave!

Beautiful inn tucked on a hilltop. Quiet place surrounded by trees and greenery. Spacious clean room with bright white linens. Continental breakfast with fresh fruit, yogurt, and baked goods. Coffee, tea, and juices. Innkeepers are welcoming and very helpful. Most definitely will return!

I can't even convey in words how special our experience was at McKinley Edwards Inn! My wife and I traveled to Bryson City with plans to stay at an AirBnB cabin in the mountains. The cabin wasn't ready at all, and we literally could never stay there based on what we saw. Not knowing what to do next, we ate dinner on our 30th anniversary in our car from an Arby's paper bag! My wife found this inn online, and we made the short drive. At 9:30 John-Marc opened the door before I had the chance to knock! We were quickly impressed, and committed to two nights. We were basically the only guests there (on the backside of the COVID lockdown). The room was incredibly comfortable, and we didn't want for anything at all during our stay. We were served an amazing breakfast each day, and given some great suggestions on things to do and places to visit in and near Bryson City. The night after our anniversary, we were permitted to use the grill and the kitchen to prepare a proper anniversary steak dinner and eat it in the inn's dining room! At that point we asked for a third night, which was easily done. In short, there is nothing reasonable that John-Marc and Janice won't do for their guests, and we've never met people who care as much about what they do as these innkeepers! As an added bonus, we enjoyed two evenings spending time getting to know them, and they are incredibly kind and friendly! We've got new friends for life! Bryson City is a super nice mountain town, and the nearby Deep Creek hiking trails are beautiful. Rafting is available for kids and adults, and the town has some neat shops. Bryson City Wine Market will set you up nicely for wine and cheese, and you will not find better barbecue than Haywood Smokehouse in nearby Dillsboro! Enough about the town! The biggest point I make with this review is this: McKinley Edwards Inn could be in the middle of the Mojave Desert, and I'd walk over broken glass in the middle of July to enjoy a stay at this inn! You won't have to because it's in beautiful Bryson City, but I'm saying that you'll have an amazing time! Thanks so much for the unforgettable stay, and for literally saving our anniversary getaway! We can't wait until next time!

What an amazing place! This cozy inn has clean rooms and lovely grounds to stroll to take in nature's beauty. It started our holiday season that will not be beat! The innkeepers, John Marc & Janice treat you like family. We will definitely be back! To experience each season!

My boyfriend and I don't need much and usually like to find off-the-beaten-path places but something about this little house in town spoke to me. I can not express how perfect it was for us! Very nice, character house and very comfortable. Rooms are cozy with antique furniture and a "your grandma's house" kinda feel. Breakfast was AMAZING.... I'm a southern girl and look forward to country breakfast and this beat out any breakfast I've had in a while! Price is VERY VERY reasonable for the hospitality and amenities offered. We are adventurers and adrenaline seekers so I wasn't sure how the B&B speed would work for us (we never want to be the "rowdy ones", coming in muddy or late and disturbing the "romanticals"). This Inn is perfect for EVERYONE. During our stay, there were 2 families with children, a backpacking couple, the musicians that played the Saturday night show at the local brewery, and of course us (rafting/biking/hiking and a little bit drunk each night). You will be comfortable here, no matter what you're speed. The best part of this whole experience is the Innkeeper, Luke, and his wife Layla. What an amazing, interesting guy! And so kind and hospitable. I would go back to this place just to get a chance to hang out with this guy more! STAY HERE. You'll love it.

Cozy up next to the fireplace, dive into a good book on a rocking chair, grab a board game to play with your spouse or kids, or just take a little nap while you listen to the rain showers. I highly recommend a stay here if you'd like a weekend retreat in the mountains of Western North Carolina and quality time with family and friends. Hemlock Inn is conveniently located a short drive from downtown Bryson City and the Cherokee side of Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Hemlock Inn is a nice little place in the woods with quaint rooms, limited technology, and good Southern food. I loved that they rang a dinner bell and had a blessing before each meal, served family style. We traveled with our 1 year old and I was glad I packed some of his favorite foods from home to bring with us (we as moms know our little ones can be picky). Hemlock Inn will gladly provide you with ice to keep items cold and some rooms even have a small refrigerator. The staff here at Hemlock Inn are so attentive and welcoming. We booked a bed & breakfast package to take our son to the polar express last December. When we got there, no one was around, but there was a ziplock bag with an envelope pinned to a post with my name on it. In the envelope was a letter explaining that we were the only guests that night and the owners were out of town too, and that there would be no breakfast. We were told our room number and that the key would be in the room. We found the room under the front porch. Walked in to find that we were in the basement with polished rock walls and floors. The floors all sloped down and to the back of the room. There was no key to be found anywhere. We left some luggage in the room, but nothing valuable since we could not lock the door, and left for the polar express. We called the owner and left a message explaining our issues, but did not get a reply. We returned from our excursion late in the rain to a completely dark facility, except for our room. With no way to lock the door, because we had no key, I was very concerned for the safety of my family. I had an empty coke can, so I placed it in front of the door to at least alert me if someone tried to come in. Neither my wife nor I got much sleep. By 6am, we looked at each other and decided just to go home since there was no breakfast anyway. We also NEVER got any sort of credit for the lack of breakfast, but were still charged the full amount. This was the WORST hotel experience I have ever had and feel lucky that I am alive to tell the story. Unless you want the full "Cabin In The Woods" type experience, DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

The parking could use some better signage. The food service went smoothly. Utilizing two lines is great. They squeezed far too many people in the room. Very claustrophobic. The EMCEE needs to reduce the amount of corny jokes. We are here for the bride and groom, not you...sorry, not sorry. The plastic bags on the lights on the patio are super tacky. We didnt book or pay for our room, so I am clueless there. I would guess somewhere around $100 to $110 a night? Our room was great - huge king bed, jacuzzi tub, balcony access - my only thing is there isn't a shower. It wasn't the end of the world since our family was in the next room and we could sneak over there, but it wouldn't be ideal to be in that room for a weekend if you didn't know the neighbors. The breakfast spread was lovely - pastries, muffins, waffles, cereal, yogurt, granola bars, coffee, orange juice, apple juice - we definitely didn't leave hungry. My complaint about it is (of course) the floors and stairs are a bit squeaky. Probably fine if no one is above you or people aren't getting in late, but we had just laid down to go to bed and guests arrived for the room right above us. The property was lovely and the staff went above and beyond. We were there for the entire wedding - rehersal, wedding, reception - and had no issues.
