Bad dealer! Bad! Mazda: Its quality and reliability speaks for itself. But choose a different dealer than McLarty. All parts of the transaction that involved the dealer financials was fumbled, blundered, and just plain mishandled. All parts of the financing and addendums to the new vehicle sale require MANUAL FOLLOW-UP. Nothing can be trusted about it. Refunds for after-sale servicing and GAP protections require 6 to 8 weeks, minimum. And it's up to the CUSTOMER to assure the paperwork was properly completed and submitted to the financing company. Really, one star is too generous. Find another dealer. read more

The worst car buying experience ever!!! We had agreed on a Volkswagon Atlas. We signed the contract. We had an appt to close at1pm on the 6th of April. We received a call the morning of the appt to tell us it had been sold. Who the hell does that? We have an excellent credit score and we are Veterans!!! We have bought dozens of cars and gave never had this happen!!! Do not go to Mclarty Volkswagen to purchase a vehicle!!! I've been checking for a vehicle for months. I found what I want and it's in transit. I was told I need to put a $500 deposit down to hold the vehicle. Fine. That's reasonable. However, when I asked if the deposit was refundable or could be used for a different vehicle at the lot if I drive the vehicle and do not like it, I was told no. The manager further stated they would lose a sale and had no response when I suggested he has a list of people to call for any vehicle that comes in. I read Google reviews and found a review where someone ordered, ETA kept being pushed back and the manager cancelled her contract. I hate to be forced to travel outside of Central Arkansas to purchase a vehicle but I see no other option. This dealership apparently does not realize this season of vehicle availability will end. read more

I went in to look at a Golf GTI that I saw online, they showed the car with a manual transmission as well as a darker red, but I test drove the car anyways, fell in love with it, and the sales team that I worked with did everything in their power to make sure I was happy with the numbers they placed in front of me. The process took a very long time, I got to the dealership at 2:00 pm and did not leave till 7:00 pm which was the only real down side. read more

I went with my boyfriend to test drive a Jetta.We were walking around the lot for 20 minutes before someone helped us, and that was only because Robert walked outside for a smoke break and my boyfriend flagged him down. We both made it clear that I was the one looking for a new car, but he gave the car keys to my boyfriend to test drive. After my boyfriend said I was the one who needed the keys, Robert said, "Oh, well let me pull it out for you, then. I don't want any dings. Ya know, no one wants to buy a new car with dings in it." He was going to let my boyfriend pull the car out and drive off, but I obviously couldn't handle that without dinging car doors since I'm a woman. I wish I would've left after that. Then, the entire time we were in his office discussing the numbers, he was continuously taking calls and calling another customer trying to close a deal with him. Even after we were done, he was still trying to call someone else back before he would go get my car keys. I have never been treated so disrespectfully in my life, and by a person who makes commission no less. I'll be taking my business somewhere without such misogynistic, incompetent salespeople. read more

The service department is the worst in the world. My Mazda needed an oil change and had been making a clicking noise so I go to get the oil changed and the service check in girl told me that I needed to make an appointment for an oil change and they were booked up for the day, so I took the car to mclarty ford where I get my Ford work done. The ford dealership told me they only have ford parts there and to tell the manager at Mazda that I don't have time to get oil changes every day of the week. Last year I was looking for a job and the Mazda dealership manager told me he wouldn't hire me because I looked like I needed psych meds. Back at mclarty Mazda, I tell the manager my dilemma that day was the only time I had in the foreseeable weeks to go to the service department, and about the clicking noise, and oil change due. He took the keys drove my car back to service. A few hours later I get the car back pay for the oil change and they told me they drove the car around the parking lot and could not hear it clicking. Six months later I have put 4500 miles on the car and took it to another mechanic. It was clicking because I needed plugs, now they're overdue and the sleeve the plugs go into have corrosion and need replacement. Not hugely expensive but may have been avoided if Mazda had ever looked at the car for the simple problem. Next time I go to this dealership I will not have taken my meds that morning. read more

Buying a car is not like staring at a menu at a fast food restaurant. My experience with a Mclarty MANAGER was treated in this way. I was given a test drive of a specific VW Atlas that I had done research on options and price. I knew that the salesmen was trying to screw me when he quoted me $5000 more than what was just posted as an internet price. In fact the salesman quoted me $2000 more than MSPR. Unbelievable! When I decided to leave the young salesman's office, he caught back up with me and wanted me to speak with his manager because "if you don't I will get in trouble." This is obviously an intimidation scheme this dealership has. The muscle head MANAGER came out angry because I was "playing games" and not willing to buy. I said I am willing to buy. I said I came down here because of a price I saw on the internet. He said well who's to say we can't go back there and give you the price that was on the internet, are you ready to buy now?! I said no, not from you. He said I was a joke, I said he was a joke as I was walking to my car. He said "come say that to my face." I have never been treated like this in my life and feel like if you are reading this and wanting to buy a car you should know this happened to me. I look forward to buying from Owens Murphy, where the salesman was not pushing, ANSWERED MY QUESTIONS and most of all didn't try to fight me.
