McMuarry heating was awesome. When i called them, the receptionist said the technician arrive between 10am to 2pm. He arrived at 10:20. They ended up having to tear down the furnace almost completely. No problem though, it was like a tinker toy set to them and they had it up and running in no time. I moved into a new construction home about 3 years ago where the HVAC system was installed by McMurray Heating and Cooling. Over the course of the 3 years, we have consistently had issues with our system short cycling (both with the heat and the AC). Nothing extreme, and I just assumed it was due to the fact we had a 2 zone system that is high efficiency. Numerous trips out for tune ups and trying to diagnose the problem, and the technicians always claimed everything is working as it should and that I should just get rid of my Google Nest thermostats (which mind you, have all of the "smart" features turned off). Also worth noting that I swap my filters every month. Fast forward to Christmas Eve and our system stopped working entirely. McMurray finally got a tech out and he spent the entire time on the phone rushing around. Did he discover the problem where our intake was frozen? Yes. Did he act like I was a nuisance with any question I had and rushed out as soon as he could? Definitely. Almost $300 for less than 10 minutes. I get it, it was an incredibly cold night and they likely had a lot of calls, but that's still no excuse. I finally went with another certified Trane company, and low and behold, they discovered that the system has inadequate returns and is short cycling due to overheating (or freezing in the summer). They made some adjustments to the system, temporarily switched to a lower MERV rated filter (13 down to 8) and installed another return vent. Notice a difference in the photos? The weather was about the same this week and this isn't even an extreme example. Instead of just assuming I was exaggerating or writing off everything I said, they probably could have diagnosed the problem themselves. But I'm guessing that would imply they needed to do something under warranty as opposed to charging me outrageous fees. Needless to say, I'll stick with the new company. read more

They communicate excellent. The last HVAC tech was good at their job, on the expensive side, but getting hold of them and setting up appointments was ridiculous. We always pay our bills immediately and enough was enough. Pat came in and spent time troubleshooting my AC issue. It ended up being a contactor problem. He took his time and traced all the wires looking for shorts, tried replacing the thermostat, everything. Had a small issue within one year of a new construction home. Called McMurray and they said they can send someone within two or three days which was soon enough for us. They asked if it was more critical and if it was they would have someone there sooner. Two gentlemen showed up at the appointment time, took off their shoes, and took care of our problems in a very short matter. I had some questions about our new system and they took an extra few minutes to give me some instructions in how to use it in the different seasons and also gave me some great advice in the maintenance of our HVAC system. I went to the company website to get their phone number. I called and they said they would be out the next day between 12:30 and 16:30. While on their website I applied for financing by clicking a button on their website-a button which appears to be missing now. I was approved for $4000. A person came the next day. He arrived at 11:20. The person was friendly and said they'd have a quote ASAP. The next day I received a quote via email. I called McMurray on the phone to say I would accept the proposal. ($5,300 for a 70,000 btu furnace and 14 SEER A/C). I told them I had financing through their website for a portion of the cost and asked how that money would be applied. They told me they had nothing to do with that and I would have to get the check from them myself. I called the finance company who said I could not just get a check and that the check would be given to McMurray upon completion of the work. They said they would call McMurray and straighten it out. McMurray called me back a few minutes later and told me they didn't know I had financing and I would have to pay additional finance fees of $396 on top of the quote. I asked why and they said the quote they provided was for cash only. I told them cash only was not on the proposal and that all they were going to have to do is accept the check from the finance company and put it in the bank (how could that cost $396?). They said they would have to talk to the owner. I got a call 10 minutes after that from the original person who came to my house. He said he would "eat" the cost of the financing. I then asked when they would do the work and the "nearest available date" was 26 days out. I told them to forget the whole deal. I must tell you I haven't seen a company try so hard to tick off a customer and lose $5300 like this one. Incidentally I called a competitor who is doing the financing (without a half-a-grand fee) and is completing the work 6 days from now. read more

Installed a whole house humidifier on our furnace. The installation took about 2.5 hours. The humidity in winter in our house was so low that static electricity zapped us whenever touching anybody or metal objects in the house. After 24 hours the house already had reached 35% relative humidity and no more shocks. Payment was convenient for all major credit cards. read more

Built a new home in 2016. Our contract with the builder ( Dan Ryan) stated 2 HVAC systems. McMurray only installer one system and has been unable to get our home within the builders warranty code after numerous failed attempts. In addition, the calculations used to determine the sizing they provided us contained errors. We have rooms that are 5 + degrees difference from the thermostat. Once we complained, McMurray started using two units with more output for all new builds. There seemed to be a lot of behind the scenes finger pointing, but no one will own up to the mistake and they have left us with a home that doesn't perform properly. Given what has transpired, we would never recommend this company for any heating/cooling needs. read more

Wow. I called 6 companies to provide an estimate for central air and duct work. 5 companies were polite and helpful. Each one scheduled a time to come out to my house within a 2 week period after 4 PM--- Except McMurray. I was given attitude about scheduling a time and was told that I would need to be available for a window between 12:30 and 4:30 as it was considered a service call. This was followed by informing me that they could not pull someone off of a service call that took longer than expected to come to my home to give an estimate, that I certainly would not want them to do that to me... ... I explained that I did not realize an estimate was considered a 'service' call. I told her that the other 5 companies I called were able to schedule a time... ...I decided that if this is the pattern of customer service interaction to expect from this company, I would probably be better off looking elsewhere. Good luck to anyone who would have to take a 1/2 day off of work so that McMurray Cooling & Heating can provide them an estimate. Someone in that company needs to revisit their customer relations policies and procedures. read more
