I usually am thrilled with people who have had hired and make recommendations to friends. Today I want to share facts with the experience with "Get It Done" handyman service so you can make an inform decision on hiring this service. My contract with Morgan the owner of the company was to remove cabinets, backsplash and install three ceiling fans to prepare for the installation of my new cabinets. The only appliance that needed to be removed was the microwave. I signed his contact before he started, he only works by the day, but I had agreed to pay his daily fee even if did not take the entire day. He was at my home from 8:00a-8:00p the first day. He removed all my cabinets and appliances; he removed the back splash but then he removed the dry wall. When I asked about why he was removing dry wall, he stated that if he was going to put the back splash back up, he would only do if I agreed to change drywall. Then he said I was looking over his shoulder and he did not "appreciate that". After two days I had enough, all appliance removed, sink removed, dry wall removed, Electrical OUTLETS removed, plumbing totally ripped out of wall. NO ceiling fans installed. At 4:30p I said it was time for him to go. He sent his bill through email, charged me by the hour to the tune of $700.00. Now as we put things back together, I have had to hire an electrician, a plumber and a handyman. He threw away parts, when moving the dishwasher, he damaged it when he moved it to the garage. There was no reason to remove the dishwasher at all. These are only facts of my interaction with the "Get it Done" man.

Recently, we found Luke's Repairs and Remodeling to address the following issues: all interior and exterior doors were replaced and reframed, all pocket doors were replaced with new hardware which required removing and replacing the drywall. We also needed the entire house painted, a closest built around our mechanicals and additional shelving erected in the laundry area, as well as some electrical work. Luke came out, listened to everything we had to say and gave excellent input for the project. He gave us an estimate and stayed within the estimate for the entire job. Luke started on time, communicated throughout the entire timeline and ended on time. Luke, as well as his skilled carpenters, never minded being interrupted with questions and always took the time to communicate clearly. The project took approximately two weeks to complete. We thoroughly enjoyed visiting Luke's warehouse to choose the items we needed for the repair and remodeling. Luke also did all the ordering, pick up and checked the materials that were delivered. We never had to bother with any items that were needed for our home. When I asked for his credentials, Luke did not hesitate to provide me a copy of his Kentucky contractor's license and his insurance. We noticed the way Luke was with the men he worked with. They had immense respect for each other. We are confident that the crew will stay with Luke. Finding a quality business to do home repair and remodeling is very difficult. Luke's Repair and Remodeling is a stellar company. My wife said, "Luke and his carpenters have made me fall in love with my home again". Instead of charging us for the visit he said no charge because he didn't fix anything and he just wanted us to remember him when we needed something actually fixed. He went to Lowe's and took a picture of a breaker that I could put in myself to fix the problem. Absolutely top quality service and would definitely recommend for anyone looking for electrical work.

Let me start by saying that calling Mr. Brown was the best move I can make... and the best move you…read morecan make as well reading this! Long story short I was having trouble with my furnace and it putting out the appropriate amount of heat when in emergency heat mode. I called Fayette heating and air only to have them come out to charge me $100 just to tell me that I needed a whole new line put in because my furnace was only getting half the power it needed to... the proceeded to quote me $1350 to put in a new line to the furnace that was less than 25 feet away. I felt that was a tad bit high so we called another electrical company who came out and said the same thing.. new line was needed because there was not enough power. Cool... they quoted me $1000. I still felt that was high especially because they told me that yes it was going to need a new line but that it would be an easy install and it shouldint take too long... So I called WB... Mr. Brown within 15 minutes of being here discovered the reason to why the furnace was not getting enough power.. because simply the wrong wire was hooked up on the furnace from the fuse box. On the fuse box the positive cords were red and black, and on the furnace was white and black, which means all that needed to be done to fix the problem was simply to take the white electrical cord off.. cap it off... and put the red positive one on the furnace fuse and boom... it was getting the full amount of power. No need for new wiring or hours of labor.... Mr. Brown took the time to explain this all to me and to make I understood which I so much appreciate. (The picture I included is him taking the time to show me that he indeed got the correct amount of power after making the wire switch) Through this entire process he showed me that he is about the people and is truthful, trustworthy and not out to take advantage of anyone. He is very reasonably priced and I cannot speak highly enough about his professionalism and his customer service. He went above and beyond for me and I know he will do the same for you!! Do yourself a favor and use WB electric for your electrical needs! You won't regret it! Thank you again!! We will definitely call you first for our needs in the future!

The main issue I have, and one that is entirely my fault, is the labor cost. I always get three quotes. Always. But, I've been really busy traveling for work lately and I got into a hurry. I didn't do it this time. That's on me. But, I will share with you my experience to hopefully help you make an informed decision. The shower looks great. I don't have a problem with the workmanship on that. But the initial thought of the work that needed to be done was modified while the work was being done, and the remedy was not as involved as initially thought. I probably should have requested a change order at that point but again, I was in Salt Lake City for a week and time got away from me. I thought the modification should have saved a little money. Kris disagreed. Again, they're good people. Maybe it did turn out to cost the exact same as initially thought. Seems strange to me, but maybe. When Kris explained the final cost it just struck me as high. Kris texted that, "We charge $150 an hour" for labor. Again, this is on me for not doing my due diligence. I agreed to the price. I paid it. Kris cashed the check. Business was done. But, reflecting, $150 an hour for labor is high. Really high. Some might say excessive. It is about twice as high as the highest I've ever seen. Just keep that in mind as the hours add up on a project. It's gonna cost you. The issue I had with the workmanship was missed spots on the painting. It was not well done. I think they might have rushed that and to be honest, I'm gonna have to be ok with that because every hour was costing me $150. I can paint. I'll get to that this weekend. Does leave a bad taste in my mouth, however, after paying such a high labor cost and painting is, well, labor after all. I provided the paint. Look, if you have unlimited funds, I think they're a decent option. Not really sure how to rate them but I do think affordability should factor into a rating as well. So I'm going to go midway on this one. Good people, mixed workmanship, with nosebleed high labor costs.
