Went with Lopez Landscaping since they had the smaller equipment and manpower to get the job done. The tree was quickly removed but it was a 3 star maybe 3.5 star experience because of the additional work needed to coordinate everything. The good: - competitive quote and they were able to come by quickly to assess the work - flexible in bringing equipment that worked with tight openings - main tree removal was done in 5 hours - removed paver stones so they wouldn't be damaged by machinery - friendly and professional. They accommodated a special request to cut a section for a table The bad: - rescheduling was a huge pain. We had to go back and forth for 3 weeks and I had to proactively follow up to confirm if they were coming - unable to grind the stump as part of the initial quote so had to pay another $400 for them to come back with a different machine - never got an invoice despite asking for one multiple times To summarize, this seems to be a nice family business that has experience removing trees quickly. However, it doesn't appear there is a back office that keeps everything organized so you're going to have to do a lot of work to stay on top of things.

Recently we acquired another property which had a backyard covered in mulch and littered with tiny baby trees that sprouted everywhere (seriously it was awful). The trees shading the backyard had not been cared for in years. We hired them to landscape the backyard and plant grass and trim back the big oaks and some other trees. The backyard is looking great so far and we just had a massive rain storm and while some neighbors had small limbs fall onto their yard, our backyard was spared. The quote for the tree trimming was in line with other quotes we received and we found the team to be kind and courteous of our home. They did an amazing job and we will be calling them for future landscaping needs.

I really wanted to like this company but the fact of the matter is they do not seem to know what…read morethey are doing. After telling me my 20ft Junipers had no fungus(which I was sure they had), the came back and recommended three fungicide treatments. I asked them to prune three white birch only to prevent sagging. Instead, they cut two of them so short, the provide no privacy and left the third one 10 feet taller requiring another company to treat. Then they decided since they were pruning, they would also send a chemical specialist/"arborist" to my property without my permission. Came home one day to find a stranger had let himself into my back yard without warning and no concern for my pups who have access to that yard. After a few visits, I have given up and fired them. Try anyone else.
