He said the Progressive hadn't notified him that I would be coming. Even with that set back things got set in motion pretty quickly. He reached out to the technician who would be doing my inspection. The technician happened to be running late, but upon his arrival he wrapped up the inspection very quickly. Progressive had me block out an 8am-9am time slot on my calendar and I was out of there by 8:45am! The technician was super friendly. He chatted with me for about 10 minutes after he completed the inspection. He walked me through what points caused him to achieve his end results, and also gave me some advice on auto body issues unrelated to the incident. I was going to be giving this place a two or three star review due to how the experience started, but the efficiency and friendliness of the technician really turned the whole scenario around!

They gave me the car back 3 times being multiple colors. It took 6 weeks for them to give me a garbage paint job. It literally opened and cracked all over the side panels, hood, door panels. I spent months trying to work with John O'Sullivan, who owns the gas station, who just stopped answering, his friend Curt the owner of Collison would not take my calls, after promising to fix it for months. Curts front desk lady told me stop calling he is not going to bother calling you back nor will he fix it.I have pictures taken before, during and after from the Lexus dealership. I also have emails and photos of all the errors Collison Corners made. It is over $8,000 to repair at the dealership that actually knows what they are doing, and neither business will fix my car. A little over a week ago my driver spun a piston crank and limped into their establishment. They call me and tell me no metal in the oil so we should be able to fix it. We are all happy and a huge weight is lifted off of our chests. Next morning it is slammed back on it. Well no sir, the very sweet lady calls to say, we only checked on the dipstick and not the oil pan. You have plenty of shavings in your oil. Talk about bursting your bubble. So we are - Ok what are options? Well you can get a REBUILT motor for $30k or a new one from Dodge dealer for $40k. WHAT? let me give you a little background on me, I created and admin the largest Hotshot Trucking social media and internet Network in the USA, over 600k members, 30 groups, 5 websites, blah, - and I own a Hotshot Trucking Carrier of a few trucks. Point is we do this much more than we would like to admit, deal with shops, mobile mechanics, repair shops and know when we are dealing with a good one. Now don't get me wrong, nice ppl but Monticello residents, your being robbed. So I had one of my other drivers come pick up the truck, bring it back to Texas, get a new motor, Install it, with better components and design than original for under 13k in 4 days. Oh Monticello told me the motor gaskets were on a 45 day back order. Here in Texas they are easily available. BTW they charge over $600 just to take the oil pan off and tell us it had metal shavings in it. WTH? less than an hour of work. This is really shameful. So lets get to the nail in the coffin. So I had to send my driver all the way back from Houston Texas in my spare Ford F350 Super Duty, my personal favorite. On the way he said that the ac was not working right, blowing hot and cold. So I call the previous owner, a mechanical genius and he tells me what to tell the shop, to just add the correct amount of Freon and check compressor, etc. (SEE TEXTS ATTACHED). They respond ok. Please understand my driver is a large man, and has diabetic health problems, Him and his brother suffered greatly coming there and I wanted to repair that ac at whatever it cost to get it right. So he took it to them and told them it is not blowing COLD air and check it out. He told them that I had sent instructions too. One of the MAIN REASONS we trusted them, LISTEN TO THEIR HOLD MUSIC ADVERTISEMENT- THEY SAY THEY RUN A FULL DIAGNOSTIC, ARE VERY EXPEIENCED AND WARRANTY THEIR WORK ANYWHERE, so we THOUGHT we were in good hands. So they hastily install a $40 blower, charge us $551, tell us it is repaired and blowing cold air, WRONG- My driver calls me an hour and a half down the road, Boss the AC is NOT working at all, the people say that it isn't their fault, should I go back? I am having health issues and my Doctors appt is Wednesday. I really need to get home but I don't know if I can stand the heat w/o air, We would have to get another day at hotel. I text, call and the head mechanic with all of these years experience tells me that he didn't check, diagnose, run gauges, check Freon , nor did anyone give him my instructions. He admits he should of and that he knew better. Oh boy, I am between a rock and a hard place, My driver needs to drive over 1000 miles still, the fuel, the hotel, the lost time. But it gets better for all vehicle owners! From the front desk to the shop, they treat you and your vehicle like family. My SUV had "minor" damage from a repair shop standpoint but they didn't downplay how I felt about the condition of my SUV at all. I scheduled my estimate appointment and they didn't waste any time inspecting my vehicle, notating the damage, and giving me their initial eyeball estimate ($4,500 range). They went from "this is what I see right now but we might find more when we break her down" to "let's see how soon we can get you in." There is the first 5 stars. Customer service, friendly, fast, efficient, no side talk or questionable practice hints. The date was set, July 19th, 2024, I was scheduled to drop my baby off for a TBD amount of time and the "hospital". I got a call a week or so later at the one moment I didn't have my phone stuck to my hand willing their call to fruition. My heart sinking as I listened to their voicemail and being told they found more "minor" damage and the estimated time to fix would be 2 weeks. My sinking heart was ONLY because I would be without my purring 3.6L V6 longer than I had wanted to be. And then I got "lucky". I got the call that my truck was ready for pickup. I arrived, walked in and was immediately greeted. All the giddiness in my voice I told the gentleman that I was here for the 2018 Silver Ford Explorer... he was already walking to get my keys which I made note of since we had only seen each other once! He summarizes the work that was done (replace, fix etc.) and remembered that I had hoped my hood was damaged enough to replace because of the bare spots on the hood rim that had bubbled and chipped off over time. As he walked me out to my truck he said that the paint shop "touched up" the hood since he remembered that I had talked about it. When I laid eyes on my baby my jaw literally fell open and tears started to form in my eyes. They didn't "touch up" the paint on my hood. They completely restored it, no charge. Adding to it, my truck was detailed inside and out. All I can say to that is... I have a 2 1/2 year old granddaughter. This is where they earned 10 stars. All I could do was ask who did it because I wanted to express my gratitude and show my thanks for the man who spent his own time to do this amazing act of kindness for me and my SUV. The gentleman told me the paint shop guys name was Greg. Eventually I asked for Greg's last name to make sure I personalized the gift I would ultimately be bringing back to him. "Harwood" is what I was told. Crap, one of the owner's sons... what can I get a VIP for treating me like a VIP? And today, as I write my review of Harwood's Body Shop I found out that Greg Harwood, the guy who decided to restore the hood of my baby to better than new is the OWNER??? I hope I never get into an accident again, but if I do, Harwood's is the only place I will trust to bring my baby back.
