I spotted some great ones at the Home Depot one day and inquired on how to pre-order a LOT... they graciously gave me the distributor information, and thus I found United Central Orchids. I exchanged a few emails with photos with Kim and spoke to her on the phone about what I was looking for and pricing. It was a bit stressful as a bride not having perfect communication, but it worked out. Some of the snags that happened were simply because we weren't a business -- instead a private purchaser, so we didn't have a tax ID, and thus had to pay CASH on delivery -- not even a check. This made me super nervous because until a few hours before, we didn't know exactly what day they'd be delivered -- they ended up coming a day early! I had to literally go the morning we found out they were coming early to our reception venue with a LOT of cash (literally a G+) where the event manager graciously held onto it waiting for the delivery. Not gonna lie -- it made me NERVOUS! The orchids were beautiful -- purple and white as discussed... but some were purple and yellow -- not discussed. Luckily it worked with the scheme. We hadn't discussed the greenery that accompanied the flowers in each piece -- the rhododendron ended up being in full color, meaning it was green AND red. Red was definitely not in the color scheme, but luckily, we could use floral sheers to CUT it out. Our coordinator at the venue was SO gracious to cut the red leaves out of ALL the plants for us! In the end it worked out. The plants were beautiful and friends and family got to take home a great plant that bloomed for months. It was also a GREAT price point -- ~$60/potted plant as compared to the $200+ florists were asking for cut arrangements!

Having only raised Phaelanopsis, it is a bit disconcerting not to have the correct genus and species on the tag. Looking at the genus, Cyrtopodium, I have not found any with pseudo bulbs, so I don't really know what I have.
