OUTSTANDING! I am from out-of-state and called Labos. I needed a very special gourmet gift basket for a friend who was just released from the hospital. I spoke with Karen, she listened to what I wanted and asked intelligent questions about my friend's preferences. The basket was delivered promptly as promised and my friend said, "Wow! This gift basket is just PERFECT! It's filled with everything I love: fresh fruit, olives, cheese, nuts, salami, sausage, and all kinds of decadent and delightful food." My best and oldest friend had surgery... I'm clear across the country and went online to find a florist... the first picture is what I was ordering with an added $25 for a stuffed animal... The flowers were listed at $50. I called and spoke to a very nice lady (don't remember her name) was told my total was $87... and my flowers would be delivered today... this morning early I got a call about how some of the sunflowers were damaged and could they change it a little? I said fine sure as things happen and it's life...My Friend got her flowers but never got any stuffed animal or gift as promised with my order... so basically I spent $87 on a $50 bunch of sunflowers.... I won't be using this shop again.... maybe the hospital gift shop would have been better! I'm disappointed and I feel bad.... anyway you have been warned. read more

I ordered flowers for my Mother's funeral by phone. I live in Hawaii so I was unable to order in person. I had a very specific request and was assured they could handle it. The arrangement was horrible, the card was incorrect and looked as if a second grader had written it. I have never been so disappointed. I had used this florist in the past and was pleased with product and service. BUT NEVER AGAIN! For $190 this is not acceptable. I gave it one star because they answered the phone. read more

Recently my Dad fell on ice and went to the hospital. Within two hours I decided I wanted to send him some flowers since I now live in Texas. Labo's is a local flower shop right down the road from the hospital he was at and after reading the reviews I requested Barb to do an arrangement for my dad and to make it somewhat "manly". They were a few hours from closing and she did a beautiful arrangement and had it delivered all within a couple hours. I couldn't be more thankful for Barb and Katie for delivering my order so fast. On the recommendation of a local friend in Joliet I ordered sunflowers from Labo's for my daughter's job promotion, her first. The flowers were listed on their website as Girasoles Hermosos, which translates to Beautiful Sunflowers. I'm not a botanist but they looked liked sunflowers. Well, $92 later, it turns out they were NOT sunflowers but Gerber Daisys, far inferior. My friend who recommended Labo's was embarrassed they would do that, and I was disappointed that my daughter did not get her favorite flower. It was a lousy switch on their part. I used Labo's for my April 2nd wedding and it was the best decision I made. I had to plan my wedding from CA and Barb, the owner, made it so easy for me. Barb met with me multiple times to discuss what I wanted and even made a mockup of a centerpiece for me. Since I had to fly in every time, Barb was very flexible with scheduling. She had a great attitude and worked with me to ensure that my vision came to life. When the day came, the flowers exceeded my expectations! I feel like I hit the jackpot when we found Labo's. We found them last minute for our July 31st wedding at the Patrick Haley Mansion. Barb was so sweet to us through all the communications we had. She took a general interest in making sure she was creating exactly what we were envisioning. She advised us on the types of vase to order. She even created a sample centerpiece so we can see exactly what they would look like. My grandma was my flower girl and wanted "forget me not" flowers and because they couldn't be ordered fresh, she called a friend in CA who dries flowers and makes them into jewelry and ordered a charm with "forget me not" flowers in it to add to her arrangement. She's just such a thoughtful woman. Her communication was always prompt and professional and very cheery which is an added bonus to a stressed out bride. Our flowers were absolutely stunning for our wedding. The staff at Labos was so friendly when we called or stopped in. I think the value was on point for the high quality flowers and service. I received a phone call today that my sympathy flower were going to be delivered but I wasn't home. So instead of calling from my home they brought them back to their shop and told me if I wanted them I could come get them because it is far for them to come back again. And didn't leave them on my porch because they might freeze in the 45 degree sunny day as the other two sympathy bouquets that sat on my porch were doing just fine clearly not freezing. So needless to say wasted an hour or my day trying to figure out how to get sympathy flowers that someone else spent money to send me! Nice We own two small business on of our own. My experience with The Petal Shoppe this week has been awesome. They are so personable and helpful. I have a relative in CICU near by their shop. I live 50 miles away. Sue and other staff members have called the hospital for updates on a release from CICU to a regular room before they make the flower bouquet and deliver it. So disappointed. They say "you get what you pay for" but not here you get far less. Ordered a hand held bouquet of flowers for prom They seen the dress, we discussed exactly what I wanted and they guaranteed me a beautiful product. When I went to pick them up they showed me the flowers bouquet was so small It was only approximately 6" round. I was so shocked, I could not believe it. Only 1 rose, 4 carnations and some small dried filler flowers for $55 When asked where was the ribbons we talked about they said it was wrapped around the stems. They said I could pay more and get more flowers but I was not about ready to spend any more money there. I guess that is how they get you.
