I don't even hear a ring, just silence for 15,20 minutes at a time. That is ridiculous. And when I have a standing appointment for something that would take 15 minutes I will be there for at least an hour waiting alone in the room.

When I arrived, after a quick check-in at the front desk, I was taken back to a treatment room and my wound was assessed. I spoke to the doctor within a few minutes and he outlined what he planned to do. I had a deep wound in my leg that required stitches. They did a quick x-ray just to make sure my leg wasn't broken and also gave me a tetanus shot, as I can't recall the last time I had one as an adult. The doctor was very clear about what to expect pain-wise and he took excellent care to make sure I was fully numbed. The stitches went in without too much fuss and I was sent home with plenty of supplies to ensure I could care for the wound until my follow-up, which was requested after 48 hours. I was able to easily schedule that follow-up appointment online. My antibiotic prescription was sent to the pharmacy of my choice and I received an automated follow-up to confirm it was sent, as well as when it was ready to be picked up. For all of that treatment, my co-pay (collected up-front) was $85. My appointment was at 6:45pm and I was out of there by about 8:15. Compared to going to an ER, this was a breeze and much more cost-effective. I will say that the front desk reception was a little cold, but the care staff was friendly and efficient. I'm glad to have such a facility so close to home. There are a number of urgent cares in the immediate area and so far, this is my favorite.

Indeed, they took the wheelchair away while I was being tested for the extent of my problem. Supplies are lacking - I saw IV drips hung with tape on bathroom doors for lack of a proper stand. They laid mine on the bed until a red warning light and buzzer went off. After being admitted to the hospital, they made sure they had my normal meds listed - but they never administered them until I complained. But worst of all, I was told I was someone who would "never be happy" after waiting a day and a half for a cardiologist who was NEVER NOTIFIED that he was supposed to see me. When I asked the nursing staff to find out where he was and when he would be seeing me, they told me I was a "complainer", I should go back to my room and wait. "This is the way they system works." I spoke to the nursing manager, who suggested I leave after signing a discharge paper "against medical advice", meaning they absolved themselves of all responsibility and my insurance would deny coverage. I also demanded to see the staff doctor who never examined me but called for the cardiologist, and she gave more excuses BUT DID NOTHING. After ignoring my repeated requests, 23 hours later I insisted that the nurse call the cardiologist's office (while telling me how annoyed she was that I was bothering her while she had rounds to do) and it turned out that was the first and only time the cardiologist had been contacted! This is not just careless and indifferent. They actually accused me of bothering them for demanding that they find out why the cardiologist they supposedly called never came. And when he finally arrived more than a day and a half later and showed that his first call was the one I demanded from the complaining nurse, there was no apology. And there are little things, too: Patients are supposed to have a choice of meals, but no one ever gave me a menu or a choice. There is something called "SurgiTrak" that is supposed to provided notices of your progress to people you designate, but it has to be set up a week ahead of time and they only tell you about it when you enter the hospital. They require a pre-op test before admittance, but when I came for my appointment, they had no record of it. If you have a choice, go elsewhere for medical care.

It was clean and efficient and all the staff was super friendly. The Orthopedic wing is only open Monday-Thursday and they limit it to 6-8 patients. There is always two staff on duty so it is almost one on one care. They treated me exceptionally well, were compassionate and checked in on me regularly. My TV was not working and the nursing tech went out of her way to figure out the problem and then swap out the remote controller. The food at this hospital is outstanding. On my last day I had a filet mignon steak, roasted vegetables with Parmesan cheese sprinkled on them, mashed potatoes with gravy and carrot cake. All of my meals were exceptional. I would highly recommend this hospital.

My doctor is Dr. Kristy magee and she is the best doctor I've ever had. in my 20 years of seeing her she has always been very compassionate of all my illnesses. My husband also goes to her as well and she has helped us through many situations that other doctors would have a wait-and-see attitude. 2 years ago when my husband was very sick she even gave us her cell phone number to contact her if there were any changes in his health. The staff is always very friendly and helpful at both Sanford and Lake Mary office. Like all doctors offices, they are overwhelmed so you will have to stay on top of things if you want to get your results. There was a small wait for the CT Scan but the entire service was quick. the only thing I didn't like was the beds were gurneys. They made my wait super uncomfortable. I'm glad I chose this location, the staff was great and the care was amazing! I will definitely be back.

Summary: was in desperate pain (worst headache of my life for 4+ days straight & zero relief) after…read morea long-running cold/sinus/severe cough and could not be happier with this facility and the staff! The details: I am a snow bird (Jan-Mar) for the first time & visited Lake Mary ER Friday night 2/22/19 with worst headache I've ever had in my life for 4+ days straight due to a 45-day lingering cold & severe cough. Staff was so friendly & responsive. I was checked in & triaged in less than 10 minutes and in an exam room less than 5 minutes after that. Doctor and all staff were pleasant and answered every question - and they asked all the right questions of me to pinpoint what was going on. They recommended CT scan which took less than 10 minutes (right down the hall) and immediately started IV with extra strength pain killer (I had started antibiotic, cough syrup with codeine and oral steroids two days earlier via walk-in clinic (these meds usually have an immediate & positive effect) which began to take the edge off my pain which was 8/10 steady-state and 10/10 when I coughed. Nurse added second, even stronger pain killer via shot directly into IV access and this really helped - dropped pain to 4/10 in 30 minutes! CT was clear and lungs clear so "just" bronchitis causing cough causing severe headaches. Thank goodness! Two days later as I write this I am still taking meds originally prescribed (ER doc thought they were good ones for what I have) as I'm not "well" yet - but it appears this ER visit helped me turn the corner to feeling better! Total visit time was 3.5 hours but most of the time was me resting letting the meds work and waiting for CT scan to be read. Facility is new (3.5 years I believe) and very clean & modern. Not busy when I arrived at 9:30 pm but busier (but not overly-so) at 1 am when I left. Thank you everyone at AdventHealth Lake Mary ER

UNBELIEVABLE!!!! I went to the Advent Health ER because my doctors were associated with Advent…read moreHealth and I needed oxygen. There's a big red sign saying "EMERGENCY" and the front door says it's a "Hospital Emergency Room". At the other end of the building is a big "AMBULANCE" entrance. It is right next door to a large new facility where lots of outpatient procedures are done. But it's a lie. They don't have hospital facilities there. Two blocks away is a large Orlando Health Hospital with an Emergency Room entrance, but while I was on a gurney with an oxygen mask over my face, they told me they had decided to send me to the Advent Health hospital in Orlando by helicopter. That would not be very convenient and was not my choice. I was in no condition to debate the issue, however. My husband asked what this would cost, and they assured us that we would not be charged. So they put a "waiver" for the flight risks in front of me to sign, and off we went. My husband gathered some things from our home in Lake Mary and went by car. Shortly after getting out of the hospital 3 days later, they billed $48,000 for "air transport"!!!!! I have sent four messages to the billing department but get no response other than another "itemized bill" for $48,000 *JUST* for air transport. Medical services will be billed separately. Most of the staff was fine, but we can't afford being captive in an Advent Health facility and subject to their outrageous bills. And believe me, this was not the only example, just the largest single item. A walk around the hall before my release was billed $1000 as "evaluation for occupational therapy" (I'm retired), another $1000 for "evaluation for physical therapy", and still another $1000 was billed for them repeatedly asking if I wanted their home health care. I say "most", because I have another issue. AdventHealth is a "training hospital", and it this case they put training over care of the patient (me). I was recovering on oxygen when the technician left in charge decided to show a trainee how the "forced ventilation" apparatus worked. So he took away the oxygen I was getting and secured a mask over my nose and mouth attached to a pump that forced air into my lungs - on timing he set. While he was fiddling with the controls and telling the trainee how it operates, I was suffocating and had to rip it off my face so I could at least get the ambient air to breathe. I spent a total of 9 days in the main hospital, and had several other incidents where a trainee was left in charge and WAS NOT competent enough to handle the situation on his/her own. I was tolerant, because I understand the need for training, but *supervision* is also required

Didnt even see mistake when I questioned it. Express Care PA Robert Walther (hope I have spelling correct) was truly amazing. He examined me heart, ear, nose and throat thoroughly. Requested xray done on premises. He called me following day with doctors diagnosis after reviewing my xray with Acute Bronchitis and they ruled out Pneumonia. The cough medicated Robert prescribed was fantastic controlling my constant cough and I was finally able to sleep. Waiting time was minimal as I was seen within 10 minutes. I HIGHLY RECOMMED THIS FACILITY OVER ALL OTHERS. Negative reviews are from years ago, they must have different staff. Thank you to staff for the wonderful service.
