My experience with 1 Stop Av started out good, but ended sour. I sent them a full video of my backyard so they had an idea of what kind of system would be best and provide a quote. Quote was provided at $5,500.00 to install 10 total speakers and one subwoofer. The problem came after I approved the quote provided. It stated products and on only one pair of speakers did it say a color which stated "white". I was unable to be home due to working in order to pay for this project and not knowing where or how they would install should have been discussed first. My first thought was, they quoted me, they've seen in detail my backyard and all the colors which are all dark and 1 stop decided "white" would be best and never offered or discussed which color I would prefer. If the option was given and I knew where this particular speakers were being installed, I would have definitely chose black. The first star was taken off because they installed the white speakers under my dark brown patio seating area, one on each side of the TV. These 2 speakers are large and bright white and now stick out like a sore thumb. Anyone that knows what they're doing should realize that and ask first before installing if we want the black or the white colored speakers. Star number 2 was taken off due to the resolve after. I asked if we can switch the speakers to black and the owner replied, "you can just paint it". These speakers are $800 and brand new. I am not painting them. I said I'd like the black speakers and he told me, he had to check wit his distributor to see if he can return them. The next days he messages me and says, there would be a 50 percent restocking fee if I wanted to swap them out. Huh? $400 to change swap the speaker color? That's ridiculous and not fair. The products they use are Best Buy exclusive products and if I were to buy them from Best Buy I would have had no problem returning them and getting the right color. I would recommend this method vs getting them from this company. 3rd star comes off because of the interaction via text expressing how I feel and his only option was for me to provide paint and he would send someone over to paint them. No thanks. He also stated, "with all do respect you should have looked and the invoice and been there during the install. You couldn't have called me when there? Take a quick picture of the speaker and area? For $5,500.00 I feel I deserve better than that. Now, I'll never call them again and won't recommend them. I was going to have them do my entire security camera system around the house too. Too bad. Here's a message to the owner, with all due respect, do better. Inform your customers, give them options and help them receive an amazing product AND experience. Your customers deserve it. read more

I contacted Joe to hang a TV from the ceiling in my outdoor patio a year ago. I asked him if he had a mount and he said yes, mount was about 2-3 times more expensive than ones you could find on Amazon but he had it on hand and would be able to install next day so I okayed it. I asked him if the mount he had is full motion with swivel, he said yes. When he installed it, it had no swivel. He had to DIY a hole to be able to turn the TV in the desired direction but it was a permanent spot. No biggie. He also cracked the wood during the install, once again, no biggie. Didn't make a big deal about it after install was done. Fast forward to a couple days ago when the mount failed and my TV came crashing down! I contacted Joe to let him know what happened and he didn't ask what happened, how bad the damage was or even offer to come by and take a look. He just told me "This looks like it happened during bad weather. You should always remove the TV during bad weather. This would be considered an act of god and to contact my home owners insurance." He NEVER told me I'd need to remove the TV during bad weather. If it was that important, he should've informed me before hand, not after the mount fails. He sold me a over priced crap mount that doesn't have full motion like I asked before he showed up. Telling me to contact my home owner's insurance when the damage done is much less than the deductible is asinine. Joe does not stand behind the products he sells nor his installations. This was a bait and switch. He told me the mount had this and that when in fact, it did not. He knew that and installed it anyways. He didn't give a crap that the mount he sold me failed and wasn't concerned at all about my property damage. All he cared about was talking his way out of this problem. Would not recommend! Okay if everything goes smooth but if there's a problem, good luck! read more

Sharing my experience in case in can be useful to others. They were dishonest to me on the cost of the job. I VERY clearly let Joe know what I was looking for. Once the workers came and completed the job, they demanded considerably more. I gave them the money and thought I would clear it up with the owner, Joe. Joe was somewhat combative and unwilling to work with me. Classic bait and switch as with the additional expense they would have been the highest quote of local tv and audio installers. In my situation they did not stand by their word. To top it off, even with the higher cost they overcharged me. Joe did send me the overage once I did the math and pushed him on it. The workers were courteous but left a mess, left damage on the wall from tools they were using, scuff marks from their pants, and installed one of the TVs on drywall (no stud available), but didn't even consult with me, just did it.
