Factoring in the time wasted on these things with the savings of purchasing Turbo Tax, I decided that this would be a good year to look for a CPA. My husband has a straightforward W2, but I get a 1099 and had to file a schedule C to take advantage of tax deductions. I'm super organized and brought in all our papers to their Manhattan offices. (Very conveniently located on 32nd street). They were able to scan everything in while I waited and return to me the original docs. They also take a voided check from you so that they can file the federal and state forms for you and have the refund be deposited straight into your bank account. I worked mostly with Dahee (she was super sweet!), but all the finalizations went through Andrew. I really liked that we were able to do almost everything over e-mail, which suits my lifestyle better. They were very straightforward and honest, with fair pricing (I didn't want to go the H&R route where they won't tell you how much it'll cost till the end!) I highly recommend them!
