Repeated attempts to correct the issue were either ignored or met with vague responses and no resolution. Trying to get a straight answer felt like chasing smoke. A business that cannot keep basic records of who is onsite and who has already paid should not be handling customers' credit cards. The experience left me feeling frustrated, disrespected, and concerned about how many other guests are dealing with the same mess. Until they fix their accounting practices and learn how to properly close out an account when a guest departs, I would strongly recommend staying somewhere else.

Stephanie, the…read moreproperty manager ensured that we would have a place to park for the long weekend and assured us it wasn't too late to make a reservation even though we did not reach out until the Tuesday Before. During our stay, the park hosted a cook out/BBQ in addition to a beautiful display of fireworks. What made Lucky Horseshoe stand out to us the most was no the location or amenities. It was the people. The residents were welcoming and while we had known several from other adventures, several took the time to introduce themselves and even bump elbows and tap shoes in greeting. The property manager, when not out on the property, was found three times in the patio she'd set up outside of her rig. She is as polite, friendly and approachable as the space she set up for herself. The park itself is carved out of a field with several young and mature cedar trees. The buildings are themed to the old west and their first two buildings have a draw to them that children will love. Other than the people, this park's best feature is the community garden which I missed taken pictures of. This is the first time I've seen something like this at an RV park and it's wonderful to see come into fruition. There is also a dog park which is great for our four legged friends. Some of the lot sizes are small and are definitely meant for smaller rigs. There are also many large and spacious sites that would well fit a full timer by not only providing a wonderful place to park, but also a generous space to set up outside living. As the park is carved out of a former field, you will want to spread diatomaceous earth on and around landing gear and jack stands, any place hoses or cables touch the ground and at the base of your stairs and wheels to ensure you don't get ants. This is definitely a community we found ourselves wanting to live in once our summer and fall travels have concluded. We even scoped out a few sites that we hope could be available in the future. The only draw back is that this park is currently cash/check only. As long as you are prepared for paper currency, you'll be all set.

Thank goodness for the community of amazing neighbors and staff. Roy, John, and Jeanie, were sent from above and helped us get through the tough transition of going from a brick and stick home to a RV. We couldn't have done it without them. There are a lot of amazing things I could say about this place, but what I would say most is that, you could call it home and be proud to do so. We are forever grateful for our stay there.

Ken and Kay manage to keep the park beautiful and free of disturbances while still keeping on good terms with their tenants. They also do not use contracts or deposits, not even for the many longterm residents. He's always saying that if you've got a problem, you'll leave and if he's got a problem with you, he'll ask you to leave. In the 7 months I've lived here, only one person has been given the boot that I know of and the reasonings, though not something that should be discussed here, are very understandable. A reasonable number of chances are given to fix whatever is causing a problem. Rent is $200/month plus the cost of electricity, the most reasonable price I've seen anywhere around Austin. There are smaller spaces that may be considered pull through. I'm not entirely sure what qualifies them as pull through so I cannot say for sure. There are also larger spaces for long-term residents. All of the spaces are paved making it easy to get trailers leveled. There is also a small laundry room with one washer/drier. The cost for a load is 3.00, MUCH cheaper than any laundromat and without the inconvenience of having to stay in the facility with your laundry. There may be a bit of a wait to use the washer/drier, but this hasn't been a huge inconvenience. Many of the tenants will switch a load into the drier for you if they need the washer before you can make it down there (with nothing going missing other than those pesky socks) and it is very much an honor system, but one that works flawlessly. Five stars, without hesitation. I would also like to point out that this park is NOT closed. I have been here since August 2010 and it is now March 2011.
