An amazing park for toddler age children. 2 misters , rockers and completly fensed in. The only thing missing are some swings. But the love it. Did I mention they have shaded benches and tables.

Sweet new park and green space that the area and neighborhood really needed. As I write this, it's still putting off those new construction vibes, and isn't fully finished, but it's certainly getting there. What I love about it is that they could've plopped in strip malls or continued with exclusive country club vibes, but instead they turned the land back into a recreational space for everyone. It's all very man-made, and not like being in the woods like the nature trails of Swope Park or Shawnee Mission Park. You've got paved path trails winding around the perimeter, a man-made sledding hill, bridges, a few different playground areas, living spaces, and restaurants (The Market, Verbena). We've been staying near it this week and took our kiddo to the big playground which is closest to the 91st & Nall side. Bring the Tylenol for this one, folks. It's crazy busy, kids flying around, screaming, highs and lows.. It's an event. I'd go earlier to have easier access there. There's another playground area up by the restaurants, and it's fun and more calm. There's sandboxes, chimes, and things to climb on. Overall, it's a neat idea and one that I'm so happy to see Johnson County pull off. My wife said it's a bit like a JoCo version of Loose Park, and I think that's pretty spot on. Get outside and enjoy it!

Full moon rising over the Meadowbrook Park pond loop walking trail.

A great place to walk, with multiple paved trails, my favorite being the one-mile loop around all 3 segments of the large pond. There are also bikes to use with the Drop app. Perhaps best of all, there's a nice public restroom facility near the trails. If you're hungry after walking, try the Verbena Restaurant or The Market, a café and gift shop inside the attached Meadowbrook Inn. The café menu offers delicious daily soups, a variety of sandwiches and other items, lots of sweet treats, and wine! Eat inside or on their patio, same as at the more upscale/pricey Verbena Restaurant with bar. The Market gift shop has unique cookbooks and other items that would make any foodie happy, and more NOT run-of-the-mill gifts, including luxury personal care items. I could easily shop here for almost anyone on my list, and you don't have to be eating there or staying at the Inn. The park has other walking trails, play areas for children (and/or young-at-heart adults) that Include an outdoor drum and xylophone! There are also lighted picnic shelters.

What an incredible park! A place where the kids can really climb and be creative with outdoor play!

First time to this incredible park! So many options for the kids to play and the landscaping and trees make this park so whimsical! We will be back for sure!

This place will kind of be like a community center with party and meeting rooms to rent

Beautiful park that is so well maintained. It is very busy from sun up to sun down. We love to walk the 2 mile loop.

The fact that he noticed me admiring the place and promptly greeted me is very personable! He was in fact hanging out at the order pickup helping with orders. My friend and I grabbed a couple of seats at the bar and in more than one instance we were acknowledged to see if we were helped. Ultimately it was Nick who grabbed my friend's drink order and thoughtfully brought us both water! I surely was about to ask. Like it mentions.. Good food. Good friends. Great fun! Bois D'Arc boasts eight pickleball-only courts, lined specifically for the game and braced with fences to help keep games separated. The competition is open and varied in skill level and there is almost always someone looking for partners or a game of doubles. Sure, there are private spots in JoCo, but for a spot run by the municipality, Bois D'Arc is as good as needed. Courts are generally first-come, first-served, but there are leagues & tourneys that get hosted here and those are generally well-marked with time slots advertised. You can also 'reserve' courts for your own functions via the City of Lenexa web site with reasonable rates. The facilities are portalets, so that's not the best, but the courts and play equipment rate all five stars. Get outside!

Life Time Fitness is HUGE and I mean they literally have whatever you desire (Fleur-de-Lis for all of you L.A. Confidential lovers). Located in a very strategic and safe location, near a major intersection and the freeway, traffic and parking will never be an issue. But if you have to park far away, isn't that part of the workout!? Anyways I find the facility to be very clean, friendly and safe environment without to many "weirdo's" (take that how you want). First off, the showers are plentiful and well stocked with towels and they have a nice pathway to the indoor pool. I've never had to wait on a shower, typically between 5-7am. As for swimming laps in the winter, one might need to tailer their swim routine as people like me who can swim roughly 100 laps and then there's the elderly swim classes. The point is there are limitations. When spring-fall happens it's a bit easier b/c the outdoor pool offers more lanes. Next, I've never eaten at the café so I can't speak on prices, options or anything. As far as BB courts I workout really early in the morning so I can usually shoot alone but afternoons, you'll be waiting to get on the floor. I've never been to a class for things like aerobics, yoga or anything but I have had a trainer. I honestly think I was bamboozled a bit. In my ignorance I was expecting 3 or 4 sessions a week, a meal plan and several different workout options based on my desired goals. What I got was a body fat measurement via a tape measure and scale along with a musclebound dude to spot me for 3 months. No meal plan, no spreadsheet with workouts that fit me. I mean he fulfilled the spirit of the contract besides not giving me a meal plan other than "eat some berries and tuna", but not what we initially discussed. Now, I will say the greatest thing I learned was foam rolling my muscles. I will admit, I wrestled in high school and college and I've always been fit therefore I know how to workout and diet. So for many others, they may need a little more education so be sure to emphasize that in the contract. As for workout equipment, they have plenty of stair masters, nautilus machines, free weights, treadmills and so forth to accommodate a lot of people. I think out of my 4 years there I only had an issue with someone reading a newspaper on a butterfly machine and I was doing cardio line training so I didn't want my heart rate to slow down while he was reading. Other than that, it's been very good. Oh, I will mention one time I was on the treadmill and a certain Albert Pujols was on the machine next to me. He had his cap on, his gold chain was bigger than my arm, and hit leg was as big as my torso. He saw me catching a glimpse and we had a small conversation and I mentioned I didn't want to bug him. He laughed and said "I approached you, so we're good!" Class act even though I'm a Cleveland fan! In summary, I never used all the amenities offered but there are a lot. I only wanted to reference what I've taken advantage of at Life Time. I was happy with my stay there and encourage anyone who wants to improve their health to drop on by and get a free trial membership. Two thumbs up!

A friend told us they had been taking junior tennis classes here and really liked it, so we gave it a try! I called to speak with someone about where to start, and I'm glad I did! She even explained that we could try a class for free to see if it was worth signing up for a full session! Sold!! I hate to oversimplify it, but we truly did show up, check in, and joined a class! It was THAT easy! My daughter loved the coaches and class enough that we ended up signing up right after for the next session (two months)! Now we've been there for over 6 months, and my daughter has gotten progressively better and better! She's learned the basics of the game, technique, scoring, etc.! I still participate in many activities at OP and still enjoyed playing tennis there but now I know my decision to move was the correct one. I was a guest playing with three other members who offered to split the $12 guest fee to make it more even. When we went to pay, they said they couldn't split the guest fee so suggested that one member pay for it and then we reimburse her so that's what we did. A day later, the other three girls realized they had been charged just the court time, but I had not. Since my credit card was expired, they could not process the charges. I received an email in March for the January court time requesting an updated credit card. When I called, I am now finding out they charged me the entire $12 guest fee. Now I could go back and ask for each girl to pay me $3.00 but I don't want to do that, so I asked if OP would agree to waive this guest fee in this one instance since this was not the way we wanted to be billed. Ann in accounting said it doesn't matter how long I was a member for and that since I was not a member at the time, I owed the $12. I don't disagree with her but was hoping for a little consideration as it is only $12 and I thought my past years of membership might have some influence. I even asked for a credit to be placed on the account for a future court time but no luck. It doesn't seem like everything needs to always black and white and that there could be some leniency or exceptions to make a customer happy or even to want to come back at some time to be a member. That will not be happening with me. No, the extra $9 will not break me. It's just the principle.

The service continues to be inconsistent at best--no patio service, long waits, and a general lack of attentiveness--but what's most frustrating is the latest beverage and menu decision. You can no longer order a single glass of wine. Instead, guests are now forced into purchasing a half bottle as the minimum entry point--starting around $25--for a very limited and underwhelming selection (Chardonnay or Sauvignon Blanc... and that's about it). No Pinot Grigio, no variety, no flexibility. Just a forced upsell on mediocre wine in a casual, outdoor setting. Let's be clear: You can order a single beer. You can order a single cocktail. But you cannot order a single glass of wine. In 2026, that's not just outdated--it's completely out of touch. This approach eliminates choice, discourages responsible and casual consumption, and frankly alienates a large portion of your customer base. What if someone wants just one glass? What if they want to try two different wines? That experience is gone. And the reasoning doesn't hold up. If this is about waste or throughput, there are countless modern solutions--by-the-glass preservation systems, or even high-quality boxed options like Black Box Wines that maintain freshness without forcing customers into higher spend. This feels less like a thoughtful strategy and more like a blunt, revenue-driven decision that ignores the guest experience entirely. So here's the question for leadership: Who is making these menu and beverage decisions--and how does this align with the kind of experience you claim to offer? Because from a guest perspective, this isn't hospitality. It's restriction. I'd genuinely like to hear a response from the team on this. Until then, this is a complete veto for me.
