Good company. Responsive. We use them for both landscaping and snow removal.

Fast forward to May 2020 and numerous phone calls and emails to get the work started. Finally I called his cell to see if we could get the job going. "Sorry, you'll have to find someone else" is what he tells me. Wish you would have said so earlier. That's no way to run a business.

Our initial contacts with Jerre, including the actual job of clearing and plantings, were very pleasant. We had asked for and were expecting a Japanese Maple tree that had developed low-hanging branches but received one with leafy growth only at the top. When we expressed our concern, Jerre didn't acknowledge that we hadn't received what we had asked for but he offered to replace the tree for an additional payment of the original price, although he would not charge for removing the original tree. We declined the offer because we had already paid the full bill, which included a tree that was not what we had requested. After waiting for a slow warmup in the weather this past spring to determine whether the plantings were thriving, I contacted him again about the tree and the new rose bushes that were looking distressed or diseased, knowing that the one-year warranty had expired by two or three weeks. We expected him to contact us again, possibly offering to come out and recommend some specific action, even if at an additional cost due to the expiration of the warranty. After several weeks, we've not heard from him. Overall, our experience with this business has been disappointing, and we are not likely to be using it again for our landscaping needs.

I was impressed from the start with the ideas and concepts offered to better my deck rebuild and screened-in porch project. It was tough to start a job like this during a pandemic. We had so many delays due to lack of materials. Ben and his team were great at communication with me and sending weekly updates. He proposed different solutions to help move the job along as well. When the materials arrived the team was here and ready to go. The communication didn't end there. Ben would touch base with me throughout the project to ensure we were in line with each other and on track. Ben is extremely detailed in his work and passionate about what he does. He and his team bring nothing but quality and professionalism to the worksite. I am already trying to see what I can do around the house and hire Bosworth Builders again. I am in love with my new deck and screened-in porch! Bosworth Builders in the way to go.

The worked on my front door it wouldn't close properly, they actually made it worse by ripping the seal at the bottom now it doesn't close properly at all. They tore up flooring over by my back door with nails sticking up because they were looking hiw to fix water coming in. They just tore it up and left it. They scratched my hallway walls and cut pieces off. This is only in 2 hrs. After 2 hours they took a 2 hr lunch came back packed up and said the owner has them going to the other site...???? They left my house looking this way. The young owner is very biased everything is the customer's fault. Read their contract, they made sure the customer always pays even if they messed up. Sad. What happened to honesty? Would never recommend them to my worst enemy.

Ask to speak/view references for comparable project as your job (ask for repeat client references as well). Stick to stated payment schedule in contract (they asked for early payments because project was taking longer than planned). Be your own project manager (as one may not be provided) and the company uses many/different subs that are "cross-trained" and workmanship may not be consistent. Grand Rapids Construction portrays themselves as a large company but in reality a small company stretching their sub's way too thin on "thirty other jobs besides yours". Ultimately we ended up with the master bath we wanted (but we did have to hire additional tradespeople to finish details that GR Construction felt they were "not responsible for"). Very nice/professional in the beginning...not so much at the end. We are getting ready to refinish our basement and "NO" we will not be seeking the services of Grand Rapids Construction again. Hopefully they learned some things on our remodel that will assist their company (and customers) in the future. Good Luck. THANK YOU to Mike (tile craftsman) and Calvin (general) who saved this project!

We had to have our basement completely redone after a pipe burst. It was a horrible situation and we couldn't wait to have our space back but we still don't because the quality at the end of the project has us now fixing things ourselves. When we hired him, we also wanted to add two custom built in's, along with fixing our basement back to original. Both of these custom built in's were very low quality. Many things in our basement are not level, plum, or square. One built-in is so un level and out of square that it is now unusable. I believe he tried, He just doesn't have the experience or is at the quality level for doing custom work for home interior. He does contract out for some projects and the company who he hired to do the drywall and paint were amazing so we were very thankful for that. He was aware of our concerns and offered to try and fix things, but due to multiple times through out the project of pointing out similar concerns we are just at the point now we will fix it ourselves. Overall the majority of our basement is OK, but we are definitely not in love with the fishised results.
