Writing this review again since the one I posted many years ago has been deleted, and honestly, this story still pains me. I have a Shih-Tzu-Bichon mix dog named Misiu, and he was approximately 2 years old when I took him to this vet hospital in early November of 2018. My dog has been abused by a groomer previously regarding another service provider, which led to him being extremely anxious and aggressive when it came to any type of grooming. We came here to get an opinion on sedating him because we were told that was the only option (don't worry, we have found a trustworthy groomer now that does an amazing job at grooming my anxious dog now, THANK GOD). Anyways, this "hospital," if I can even say those words, agreed and confirmed that sedating him and grooming him themselves was the BEST OPTION. So we took that option and agreed to sedate him and groom him, which wasn't cheap; it was a couple of hundred dollars, but my family and I were willing to do it for the sake of my dog being groomed without being stressed. The time came when it happened; they told me he had to be put on stronger sedation meds because apparently my 15 lb dog's heart is way too strong and needed stronger meds, that's understandable, and we had no problem with that and even paid extra if I'm not mistaken. It came time to pick him up, and he was groomed from the top of his head to his tail. He was noticeably a little red, but I thought it was normal with the amount of grooming they had to do. As soon as we brought him home, we noticed a weird patch near the side of his head and his ear. (I will attach pictures) I once again thought maybe it's an allergic reaction and to not think anything about it until my dog's literal skin came the fuck off. I REPEAT HIS SKIN CAME OFF. They literally handed me my dog with his skin detached and decided to just plaster the skin back on to him like it was a literal band-aid. Mind you, I was 14-years old at the time, and my mother barely speaks English, so I was the spokesperson, and trust me, I wish I could've defended my dog even more, but I was honestly just a kid at this point, and it was very traumatic to see my literal dog's skin come off. Trust me, if I were my age now in 2018, this would easily have been a lawsuit, because I do not play about my literal dog, and this place can give two shits about your dog if they HAVE THE ABILITY TO BUTCHER YOUR DOG WHILE HE'S ASLEEP AND DON'T TELL YOU ANYTHING. Luckily, my dog is okay and will never go to that hell-hole of a place called a "veterinary hospital"; if anything, it should be called a butcher shop. I'm going to keep writing reviews and tell this story until it reaches the right people who ACTUALLY LOVE AND CARE ABOUT THEIR PETS, TO NOT EVER GO HERE FOR THE SAKE OF YOUR PRECIOUS ANIMALS. I never got a response back about this problem or even a IM SORRY. This is a faulty establishment, and whoever groomed my dog should be disgusted with themselves. My dog is 2 now and I've been using this vet since he was a newborn. I absolutely love them. Staff is super friendly & they give my dog the best care. I did all his shots with them, flea/tick/heartworm pills, neutering. Everything has been great. One negative thing I can say is that with covid guidelines they do curbside pickup (call when outside/ they come to the car and get your pet) I've had to wait like an hour before they come to get my dog. So be prepared to be sitting in your car for like 2 hours including pick up, treatment, etc. I would also recommend their treatment/insurances packages because things add up VERY fast without it. read more

The techs are very helpful in explaining the cost breakdown of all the vaccinations, tests, and procedures. And my pets absolutely adore them, even my cat . First time going to mvh as we just moved to the east coast from cali, and saw them through yelp with good reviews. We loved our last vet and thought finding a new vet would be hard, just cause all pet owners want their furry loved ones to see a vet that treats them like their own. The staff was so friendly and welcoming and Dr Hansen was knowledgeable, did not try to push me to getting unnecessary things for the doggos and attentive to any concerns I might have had. An excellent experience. Our dog has some separation anxiety, and so the necessary safety procedures with Covid-19 were a challenge with our previous vet. We were told she suffered seizures when taken into the exam room without us. The staff at Meadowlands were friendly, understanding, efficient, and communicative. Furthermore, they were clearly doing something right, since our girl was not only seizure-free while in their care, but came back outside happy and excited. Doc talked me through all our concerns and went into detail about treatment. Even though it was relatively easy and straight forward, she still took the time to give us her full attention and care. I received a follow-up call to the following day, which was a nice touch and sealed the deal for us as returning customers. There's not been one time that they ever took me at my scheduled appointment. And since you still cannot enter the vet and I'm not sure why anymore when there's nobody in there I have to still sit in my car. I brought my beloved dog Vanna to be put to sleep on June 7th to Meadowlands Veterinary Hospital . Vanna was 17 years old and was completely blind. Her blindness didn't stop her from being physically active and she was always on the move. Unfortunately there were other issues which made it impossible for Vanna to continue being active. Vanna was seen by Dr Meza. She was so patient with me and gave me all the time I needed to hold Vanna and cry and just say goodbye to my little beautiful baby. I didn't feel pressured at all. Dr Meza explained the entire procedure to me and told me when I was ready to let Vanna go to let her know. I was holding Vanna when she passed. I wept so much but I truly felt it was the best thing I could do for my sweet girl. I would definitely recommend Dr Meza or Dr Marteney. Meadowlands Veterinary Hospital saved my cat's life when she was in critical condition. A year ago Cheeto went missing for a few days and came back weak, injured, and refraining from food. The vet we were seeing at the time said it was no worry and only prescribed some antibiotics, completely missing multiple puncture wounds and not addressing her eating situation. After a while we decided to go a animal hospital where the doctor we saw gave us a hospitalization plan for exorbitant amounts of money: money we could not afford. She also offered to put her down, which is something we weren't ready to do. She said that Cheeto would most likely die if we left the hospital with her and made us sign a form for this opinion. We searched desperately online for any possible solutions and Meadowlands Vet Hospital appeared; it was close distance and had positive reviews. When we took Cheeto in they thoroughly checked her and provided us with a reasonable plan to help Cheeto heal her puncture wounds that were infested with parasites, regain her appetite, and ease her pain. The plan was 1/4 the cost that the other hospital had given us. We followed their instructions and after a couple months Cheeto rebounded as a perfectly healthy cat. I am writing this 1 year later after sending Cheeto to here again for her vaccines and physical. Handled very well and professionally, even during the coronavirus pandemic. Have taken 2 of my cats to Dr. Silver. The office is conveniently located right off of Route 17, is always spotlessly clean, and is never over-crowded. I've never waited long for a visit and am usually able to get appointments easily. Dr. Silver is a true animal lover and is very gentle and compassionate with my cats. She takes time to answer questions, never rushes, and the entire staff is very professional and helpful. She also took phenomenal care of my cat Liam when he was sick last year and personally took my follow-up calls to answer questions that came up after the appointment. She insisted on follow-ups and helped me get him healthy again! This is the most personal, warm care I've felt with a vet - everywhere else I've been seems rushed and very cold/pragmatic. Dr. Silver and the staff were amazing. However the quality of care, extremely poor communication between the doctors and lack of attention to my pet's medical needs and records from the doctors who took over was horrendous. When making appointments or when staff took my pet during the curbside pickups, they never told me my pet was seeing multiple new doctors or that Dr. Silver was no longer with them. If the doctors had done their jobs thoroughly, my dog wouldn't have passed away the way he did. I would never recommend or bring any future pets here. read more

We loveeee this vet!! We have a 6 month old puppy and it's been 3 months since we brought her in and they have been so great. For covid, they have a system where you call when you get there, they come out and take the animal and bring her in. The vet sees the animal and then calls the number on file and you speak with them over the phone. They send you something to approve on your email instead of signatures, and you provide your payment. If it's a card they run it inside and come back with the card and the receipt. My dog always comes out happy and with treats! Last time we went our pup willingly got out with them when we got there! That was her first time . Also, their wellness plans are a great way to save money without committing to an outside insurance. The info is on their website (including prices) and for the puppy plan it includes the spay or neuter. We're only paying 200, and last visit we were there we paid nothing. We took our dog here for a spontaneous visit and they were so kind to slip us in and they went out of their way to make time to see her. My dog had a continuous cough and was sneezing a lot so we were worried. We dropped her off and the staff was very friendly! My dog has been a patient for about 4 yrs. They did surgery on him 6/8/2021, on 6/24/21 he was not himself crying when you picked him up I called and they refused to see him said they were to busy and I should take him to an emergency hospital. I called them at 12:30pm I asked to speak to the doctor but they said she was too busy and would call me back I did not receive a call from the doctor until 7/6/2021 (2 weeks after). Dr. Desai said she was calling to see how my dog was , I think calling 2 weeks later is a bit unprofessional. I believe the only reason she called me was because I called to get my dog's records. When I started going to this vet it was Dr. Silver she was amazing and went above and beyond for her patients, I can not say the same for Dr. Desai. If you have an emergency DO NOT go here.
