Our home was recently inspected by Jason Wileman of National Property Inspections. There are no…read morewords for how angry and disgusted I am at the way he conducted himself. Because of his incompetence the buyers were terrified to buy our house and pulled out of a deal for a home they had been excited about, we lost a sale, and two hard-working realtors lost their commissions. Think this is sour grapes? Well yes it is, but with good reason. This clown wrote an 80 page inspection report, and noted well over 100 findings, all but 7 of them were noted as being minor. I would argue that well over half of them were not "findings" at all, but made up BS designed to justify his existence. Yet for every item he said a certified contractor should be contacted. Of the 7 findings that were noted as "moderate" concern, we worked on having them repaired. For example: Wileman said that our HVAC ductwork was coming loose and needed repairs. We called an HVAC company to come inspect the HAVA system and make any needed repairs. They came, they inspected and said, "That inspector is nuts. Your system is fine. There is nothing to be repaired." We had to pay for that. He said that the foundation was "undermined." Well that sounds bad! So we had someone come out to look at the area in question, and he said, "Are you kidding? Yeah, some dirt is brushed away from the concrete. This is ridiculous." We had to pay for that. Wileman wrote a big long paragraph about how there was plant debris touching the side of that house that could cause rot. I'm attaching a picture so you can see for yourself, just how ridiculous this was. There were literally 3 leaves blown against the side of the house. In fall. When leaves fall. The sheer overwhelming number of "findings" by this clown scared away our buyers, cost us the sale of a house, and cost us money and time in hiring people to come look at nonexistent problems. We are beyond livid. My husband decided to look this fool up online, and turns out he's only been inspecting homes for 3 years. I wonder if that's because someone named Jason Wileman was investigated and lost his job at Medford PD because the State of Oregon revoked his police certifications due to lack of moral fitness and dishonesty. You can see the report here: https://www.oregon.gov/dpsst/CJ/CertActions/Wileman46517.pdf If this is the same guy, that would explain the career change in 2022. I would encourage every realtor, every seller and every buyer to avoid this guy like the plague.
