I'm very disappointed in this place my husband and I loved going here to get teas and coffee, I had surgery recently so my husband went to get my favorite tea as a gift .The staff treated him so poorly he was so upset when he got home apparently they just flat out didn't want to help him and even rudely pointed him to the clearance section. We always went together so I have no idea why him going alone would change how they treat him but it's disgusting. We will never come back read more

I love this hideaway spot that is nestled in a store. The people are kind and courteous, which is a rarity these days. There is ample stuff to buy in the store, but the coffee shop has its charm and character. You smell the old crisp of coffee beans and the rustic vibe. I love the loving preparation for each drink. The coffee and Tea made is unique to its place, but I am not sure if it's the barista who was doing it or just plain timing. My drink was made well, and I could taste the Oats in my matcha; however, the matcha was almost gone but tolerable. I still recommend this spot for the service and the hospitality to the customers. You can taste some drinks and maybe the one pastry they sell. Try for yourself and get your opinion. I am not from around here, and I love it! It's way better than a franchise, for sure. read more

I was deeply insulted and thoroughly embarassed for my friend that I came into Mecca Coffee with this afternoon. I had been helping a friend move some furniture and due to a misunderstanding of the bus schedule, I found myseld stranded at 41st and Peoria, the midway point for my return trip home. I called my friend who had been lounging in her bath robe, enjoying the coolness of the afternoon. Being a good and loyal friend, she quickly threw some clothes on and promptly arrived to give me a ride home. As I sat down in her car, she asked "Do you mind if we stop real quick at Mecca Coffee?" "No, not at all, what is it?" I asked. She exclaimed "OH MY GOD, IT'S COOL, YOU ARE GOING TO LOVE!" She continued telling me many of the things she loved about the place as we cross the street. We walk in and were immediately directed to the discount aisle in such a manner as to imply that we couldn't afford to even be shopping there. Yeah, there were some cool items but nothing that could outshine the high mindedness and judgement that we experienced. I was deeply insulted and humiliated as it was done loud enough for everyone else to hear. Then the way we kept being asked if we were ready to check out or if we were finding everything okay and making it perfectly clear that we really were not wanted there; only added to the immense embarassment that I felt for my friend. She was so excited to introduce me to your business. She had fervently shared all of the great things I was going to experience as I entered your store only to have you shame her in such a disrespectful way. You may think you are high minded but in reality you are nothing more than a generic, second hand, regurgitated flea market. read more

Decent coffee, but would be better if each espresso-based drink was made with its own fresh espresso shots. They seem to pull a bunch of shots in the morning and just keep them in a container in the fridge and then pour them into a shot cup to make the drinks. I get that is easier, but it detracts from the drink. As a former barista, I wasn't a fan of seeing that. The drink was still good, but I'm sure it would've been better if the espresso shot was freshly pulled. One of the workers (Tracey I believe) was kind and gave me samples of their olive oil and balsamic, convincing me to buy a bottle of balsamic. While I enjoyed my latte and the products, other than Tracey, the two other women working were not friendly. I made a point to mention that I recently moved to town and they were not welcoming like most every other small business employees I've interacted with since moving to Tulsa. Even when trying to engage them, they seemed completely disinterested. One of the women was engaging in a conversation with a regular and they were talking about how COVID isn't real (I was the only person, employee or patron, wearing a mask) so maybe my mask made them think I was some kind of liberal idiot who shouldn't be spoke to. I don't know. Sad that this happened because now I don't want to come back, and I know that they have some unique teas, coffee beans, and oils I'd like to try, but not if you're going to make me feel like a dispensable patron. read more

First of all, most employees there aren't wearing masks so if you're concerned about covid, might be a place to avoid. Secondly, I bought some green tea there (cancelled my Peet's order to support a small business) and was unhappy with the quality - it tasted kind of stale - so I called them to ask if they'd exchange the green tea for a black tea of theirs that I liked assuming they'd just throw out the green tea I brought back in favor of good customer service. Her response to me was "ma'am we are in the middle of a pandemic and we can't take back goods that have been in your house." Soooo apparently they care about the pandemic yet won't do something so simple and wear a mask?? Anyway, I drink a lot of tea and would've given them a lot of business moving forward but after this interaction, I won't be going back there. read more

Matte latte is my fav tea. It completely got me off coffee/redbull after a minor heart attack at my young age. Changed my perspective on tea! Get's me through the work day and give's me so much joy in a mug. Also, really cute items in the shop as well and kind, helpful, workers. read more

A wonderful place in Tulsa for teas, coffees, and spices. It's more of an "old school" coffee store than a modern coffee hangout like Starbucks. It also have a cornucopia of kitchen gadgets and things for the gourmet cook, so it's a good place to go Holiday shopping for that cook in your life (Maybe it's you). read more

There are only a couple of places in Tulsa where you can find Fenugreek. I needed it for a Ethiopian Chicken Dish. It appears they have a good selection of spices along with coffee, kitchen gadgets and gifts. Nice store! The service both on the phone and in the store was great! read more

I was in the store today while they answered the phone when some was asking if they were wearing masks...because there is a city mandate to wear masks. The lady set the phone down, put a mask on, then lied to the person on the phone "everyone here is wearing a mask", then took the mask off. I came in around Christmas looking for unusual gifts. Mecca did not disappoint me! They have such great finds that you wouldn't find at other retailers. Plus they have the best loose leaf tea varieties. My son bought me some teas from another tea company this year, and I have to say, Mecca's teas were much, much more fresh and flavorful. I highly recommend them. Plus the staff is pleasant and helpful without being pests. I love this store! They are a Tulsa icon. read more

Get your spices here! They are so fresh and they cost way less than at any store to which I've been. Also, they've some of the harder to find spices. They do good spice blends as well. Though I had to listen to an older guy mansplain to the lady behind the counter how curry wasn't a spice, it was a blend of spices and how that knowledge upgraded his consciousness to expert level when he found out that little gem. She was very gracious with this situation, to her credit. Anyway, their royal peppercorn mix is a great pepper mix, same with their garam masala, lemon pepper, and Chinese 5 spice. I can't speak to the curry mentioned in the chastisement above, I tend to make my own at home. So maybe ask the folks behind the counter about it, I'm sure they know more about it than I. read more

Every single employee and customer were completely unmasked in spite of a city ordinance mandating masks. I have been doing curbside for a year, but from the other reviews, it looks like this blatant disregard for customers has been occurring for months. Obviously, employees are very passive-aggressive. They also screwed up my order AGAIN---third time in a row. I used to love this place and enjoyed supporting a local business, but will NEVER shop there again. read more

I am usually not a big fan of boutique/gift shops and specialty stores, as I find them to be fairly pricey. However, this shop has all kinds of great finds that won't break the bank! The spice selection is great, and the high end oils and vinegars of all different flavors and infusions would make excellent gifts as well as delicious take-home treats. Was probably the most impressed by their coffee selection, though. They have a whole wall of the coffee shop dedicated to specialty beans, and will give advice as well as grind the beans to whatever size you'd like. I went here to shop for a Christmas gift, and now I want to go everyday! The employees were super helpful and didn't seem bothered by my many questions. I also got some coffee ground and it's delicious! They have lots of coffee gadgets, snack food, kitchen supplies, and great gift items. I haven't had their coffee yet, but their olive oil and balsamic vinegar selections are vast and terrific. They have numerous options for each: infused and flavored, so no matter the occasion, you can find something. They also come in various sizes, and you can sample each of them, which is awesome and convenient for making the perfect choice. I recommend this place for authentic and fresh olive oil in town. They have the dates the olives were crushed, which is important to know because EVOO should be consumed within two years of the olives being harvested. read more
