Between their delicious drinks (currently obsessed with their French Toast Latte ) and their bomb baristas, the second I walk through those doors, it's like a hug in a mug. Sona is my go to for coffee dates, solo work sessions, all the best seasonal coffee concoctions, yummy baked goods, and when I need a little pick me up. Sona is locally woman owned and operated, and they have 2 locations, one Downtown and one out South. (South even has a daily happy hour with 50% off drinks after 4:00! )

Tried their coffee for the first time today. I ordered a 12oz. iced mocha, and my company had a cappuccino with brown sugar and cinnamon syrup. My drink was biter. They had a pretty mural accent wall and some nice lights, but the atmosphere felt cramped, echoey and loud. The bathroom was out of service, not sure if it's fixed yet.

I'm so glad that we have a SONA down south! It is one of my go to coffee shops when I am downtown, and I love that they've kept the integrity of the open space that the previous coffee shop had, while bringing in some of the charm and fun flavor combinations That Sona downtown has always had. The staff here are really friendly and sweet. Service is quick. I do hope that they get more sugar, free options than just vanilla and caramel, but that kind of thing comes with time and proof of success. This is a great place to come and study, hang out, get some work done, or just be alone in your thoughts over, some good coffee. Slightly on the pricier side with a 16 ounce iced sugar free caramel latte with almond milk coming in just north of $7, but if you plan on hanging around here, I think of the extra cost kinda like rent for your space.

I love the one downtown but I decided to try out this location. The matcha was phenomenal! This place has definitely became one of my go-to coffee and matcha spot

Great coffee, nice space and friendly staff. Really glad to have a local spot of this caliber out South.

We ordered 4, cut them into 4th, so we all could try them, and a small bite of each of the quarters was all I could do in one sitting. I'm not mad about having more for later though. We got the hostess cupcake cookie, the cinnamon toast crunch snickerdoodle, the biscoff s'mores croissant, and the caramel Blondie cookie. So good! It was just under $20 for all 4. Not cheap at all, but, again, for a special occasion, it's fun to try.

When we stopped in today, there was the obligatory chocolate chip, a Carmelita (which IS delicious), a peanut butter cup and then some weird offerings like eclair (looked like a donut) and a super thick brookie. We got a four-pack with two choco chips, the Carmelita and the peanut butter cup. The first cookie we tried was the choco chip. I like a good chewy cookie but we both thought it was so thick it didn't get completely done. Good flavor. The Carmelita was good--so good we wish we had four of them in our pack. I got coconut, caramel bits (plus the drizzle) and chocolate chips. Maybe a little oatmeal too. Really good. If it's in the rotation, get it. The peanut butter cup was good but like the chocolate chip ones, was a bit underdone for my taste. Everything had great flavor though!

We also had French press coffee and now they believe us when we tell them it's the best coffee!! I only got two good pictures of soufflés! We sat on the nice big patio in the corner. The 1st 2 times I had the steak and my husband had the ham sandwich (I know... he's a sandwich man... but it's seriously good). Last night I took 2 of my girlfriends for dessert. One is gluten free so we got the lava cake. Kale, who was my waiter for our 1st visit, was our waiter again. He remembered my name and my husband's name! He also remembered me asking about a GF menu for my friend. He is so warm and inviting and kind-- I'm not sure Rise knows how lucky they are to have him! If I didn't like the food, I might still go based on service and atmosphere alone. But let me tell you.... The food is divine. Kale genuinely cares that people have a stand-out impression of the place. And we all did! My friends are both so excited to go back and now understand why I keep raving about it! Be back soon!

Inside, the shop has a lot of cute seating areas, both indoors and outdoors. They also offer a fun variety of flavors. I ordered a small cup of the honeycomb lavender ice cream, which came with a free waffle chip. They also have cones, flavored cones, and other options if you want something a little more elaborate. The ice cream itself was very creamy and delicious. I would have loved to have some actual chunks of honeycomb mixed in, but the honeycomb flavor still came through nicely, and there was a swirl in the ice cream that added to it. Overall, it was a really delicious scoop and felt well worth it. I visited on a Thursday afternoon around 3:00 p.m., and it was already fairly busy with families, moms, and young kids. I imagine it gets even busier in the evenings, especially during the summer after dinner. Overall, it is a neighborhood-friendly spot with great ice cream and a fun neighborhood feel.
