I am over 21, had valid identification, and I was the person making the purchase. We walked into the store and were not stopped or asked for identification. When I went to make my purchase, an employee suddenly asked, "Where's his ID?" I explained that he was not purchasing anything and that I was the customer. She told me it was "policy" that he needed an ID. Fine. I told my friend to go sit in the car while I completed my purchase. He was no longer in the store and I was standing there by myself with my valid ID. I went back inside, and the manager then told me that they would not sell to me because I had already attempted to make a purchase while my friend was in the store. So even though he was now sitting in the car and I was the only person attempting to purchase anything, they still refused to serve me. That makes absolutely no sense to me. If a 20-year-old is legally allowed to be inside the store when accompanied by an adult with valid ID, then why was I refused service after he had already left the store? If the policy is different, then explain the actual policy clearly instead of being rude and dismissive. What made the situation even more concerning was the inconsistency. The couple behind me was only asked to provide ONE ID when they came up to make their purchase. Meanwhile, I was questioned about my boyfriend's ID even though he wasn't purchasing anything, and then I was ultimately refused service after complying with what the employee asked me to do. The manager and employee were extremely rude and dismissive toward me. I left feeling singled out and humiliated over something that could have been handled professionally. As a Black woman, I also cannot ignore the fact that the treatment I received made me feel that I was being treated differently because of my race. I'm not going to tell anyone else what their experience was, but I know how this interaction made me feel, and it raised a serious concern about racial discrimination for me. I want corporate management to review this incident, including how the policy was applied to me compared with the customers immediately behind me. Customers deserve consistent treatment, clear explanations, and basic respect. I will not be returning to this location.

They made what was truly an incredibly stressful time better and more manageable. I truly cannot think of a way to thank them enough for their kindness, patience, and understanding. The store manager said that the Deli manager would take care of any needs that my team may have. What she failed to tell me is that the deli manager would be just as professional and courteous as her. The Deli manager's name is Amberstar and she is definitely a star shinning bright.
