I am SO glad that I did. After that, we had two incredibly in-depth appointments when I signed on, and I honestly felt like a movie star. I've NEVER had such an amazing experience at a doctor's office before. I actually loathe going to the doctor and it gives me anxiety. Not anymore. Gone are the days of long waits in the waiting room with a bunch of sick people, plus the longest wait in the exam room to be followed by just being glazed over by yet another doctor I've never seen before. I actually get to see my real doctor at each appointment and I can tell that she genuinely cares for what's going on with me, and she wants dig in and to get to the bottom of it. She took her time at each appointment and gave me several options on paths of treatment instead of just pushing pills on me and then seeing me out the door. We talked about diet, exercise, mental health, you name it. And the tests they ran were quite extensive, something my previous doctors never did. And anytime I've sent messages in to my doctor, she has been super responsive. To top it all off, I can't believe that I actually I have my doctor's CELL PHONE number! That is unheard of! Not only am I so pleased with the doctor's deep knowledge and incredible attention, the bedside manner and FEEL of the place is just unlike anything I've ever experienced in my life. From the time I walk in to the charming office and am greeted by the amazingly friendly, supportive and responsive nurses/staff, to the fresh SPA ROBE I was given for my exam, plus a huge snack basket to choose from after my fasting blood test, I felt like a princess or even better, a member of the family....at the DOCTOR'S OFFICE. I've never had a doctor and entire team who I felt I could call my own, and now I do. I've finally found what I've been looking for all these years! Thank you Dr. Blake Smith & team for making me feel so at home and well taken care of!

I had unauthorized staples put in, which I needed imaging for, which he refused, regardless that they are causing nerve damage. He instead did an exam, which involves moving a finger that rips further, only creating more issues, though I imagine he charged my insurance company hundreds for it. I drove an hour and a half, to meet someone who seems to only want to cover up for a person in his field, that caused me pain, and difficultly walking, for the rest of my life. He ordered a scan he said would not show the staples, at his other location though refused to order the actual test that would show the staples are there. Some people people doctors to help others, it is not everyone however. Why he seems to think I am the enemy and not the victim, I have no idea, I can only assume, it is related to money. Many confuse loyalty, with what is otherwise called, the oldest profession. Why an exam is needed to image staples that can not be seen during an exam, I have no idea. My referral was to get imaged, with the ultrasound equipment they advertise, not to get molested, in order to get imaging, which any 8 year old would be able to discern, would make a person in my situation, only worse. Maybe there is a reason to pull on them and make me bleed, with intense pain though for the life of me, I can not come up with any. If it is drug related, I hope he gets treatment though Im not sure there is a cure for some things. I even brought imagine from a CT scan which he refused to look at, saying, "I don't know how to read those". It was the images, from three angles, showing an artifact, exactly where a staple would be. I needed a DECT that could show the material though that would mean the person who did this to me, without my consent, would be held responsible for what they did. He chose to cover for them and cause me pain, instead. Thanks doctor.

He has been steady as a rock every time I've needed help, and a stickler for wellness physicals, tests, and procedures. It's a one stop shop, providing all major testing and imagery services, and is quick to forward to specialists, attending to necessary appointments for me when needed. I recommend them highly.

EVERY month they would screw it up and tell me I was filling them too early. The nurse Danielle would treat me suspiciously as if I were abusing things such as acid reflux medication. EVERY month it was a dreaded process. First, I needed to contact the pharmacy so that the pharmacy could tell them that they were wrong. They would normally tell the pharmacy they were wrong. Normally, they would call the pharmacy back at least once to accuse the pharmacy of being wrong before admitting defeat by blaming the computer. Of course, that's a load of crap. If it was the computer why the hell didn't they EVER fix it? I'm not making this up. I have online pharmacy records. This happened for at least a year and I always hoped that between the 2 of them they could figure out THEY were wrong and NOT the pharmacy like the other 12+ times they fought over my refill date. I had even tried giving them weeks advanced notice that my refill date was coming up. That only elicted a snobbish response from the nurse despite their track record that gave me reason for concern. I suffered from the incompentence and symptoms from not havng my medication until the very last day. Everything was made worse by BOTH the Dr. and his nurse taking every Monday off. If they left the mess incomplete Friday afternoon nobody was there to clean it up 3 days straight out of 4 days a week. As for Scott or.. Ahem. Charles. I only found out that he lied about his name when I was in the emergeny room and there was a cluster fk because nobody could not find my doctor in their computer system. Eventually, somebody said that there was a Dr. CHARLES Metasovich and asked me whether or not that could be him. Of course, I didn't know. I thought maybe it was his dad because the name Scott isn't even close to Charles. Even my prescription bottles were shady and had. "Dr. Matusovich FNP" rather than a first and last name as most do. Eventually, together in the E.R. of Mercy hospital where they couldn't reach "Scott"/Charles after hours. We all agreed that he must be Charles. I only ended up with him because my original doctor. DR.George Gardner (awesome doctor) left Maine Centers for HealthCare to open a private practice. I hope he is doing well. George was a brilliant doctor and a beautiful, kind, caring family man that radiated a happy calm peace. He instantly put a person at ease, he was thoughtful and listened. I would sometimes assume he wasn't listening to something I said only because all other doctors hadn't. I would be on my way out and suddenly he would have instructions for me or somebody at the checkout would surprise me with instructions from him. Even when he didn't know what was wrong, he was never afraid to TRY. He truly wanted to help all of his patients. .He profoundly changed my life and made so many others. I've never heard a bad word about the man. If there are angels amoung us he is one. I will always think about him from time to time and wonder how he is because he had such an impact on my life. If he still has his private practice somewhere in Maine and you can afford a private practice and are lucky enough to get in then you should see Dr. George Gardner because he will help you because he listens. He listens even when you forget to ask for help.

Honestly the more often I am seen here the more I love it…read more I recently was suffering from a bronchial flu. Like a hideous combo of bronchitis and the flu. I had been in bed for two days and was due back at work but knew I couldn't make it thru an hour of it so I drove to the hospital. It's early afternoon on a Thursday and they had a 3 hour wait in the ER. Well I was absolutely too sick to sit in a waiting room for 3 hours- and that's just to get to step one. So I got back in my car and called Maine Med family practice and found out that they do have urgent care so I could be seen that day at a designated time just by a different doctor- but one with my records on hand. So much better . Seriously unless it's 3am and I'm in an accident I would ALWAYS prefer to just use my urgent care!! So today I had my physical. I received 3 vaccinations and was totally happy to realize the importance of having a regular doctor at a decent hospital. Going over the paperwork they gave me while there I realized that in the last few months they had amassed my entire medical history. I lived seeing shots I received in 1988. I don't have to remember that my Tetanus was due this year. They reminded me. Maybe it cuz I'm from a big city in California but insurance for me there always meant ER visits or clinic visits. Never this personalized care. They called me to set up the appt for my yearly physical. I didn't have to remember. Gotta love that. One less thing on the calendar to set reminders for.
