Connie was spectacular on the computer, and should never retire. With front line medical staff like them I sleep soundly knowing that they care for the Lynchburg community. I had a horrible experience when i visited last year. I was away at college and didn't have a primary doctor, so I came in for what I thought was kidney stones. The "doctor" was rude and told me i had pulled a muscle in my back because of my heavy backpack. She didn't run a urine test or a blood test like she should have. All she did was give me some strong pain medicine that is known for being addictive. It turns out that i was septic and my kidneys hurt because they were in the process of beginning to fail according to the ER doctor. If I had listened to the MedExpress "doctor" I likely would've died or fallen out cold somewhere. Save yourself the hassle and go to a real doctor's office or the emergency room. read more

Came for an urgent, rapid Covid test. The front desk lady was rude and unhelpful. She provided certain information with only a few patients and not others. I showed up at 9am and was told to wait until 10am. They did not collect any information and did not put me on a schedule or waitlist. Once 10am came, people jumped the line who had only been there two minutes and the front desk who recognized me from earlier did nothing. She then spoke to me with an attitude when I told her about the line cutting. She did nothing and told me that it was first come first serve, even though I was here before Everyone else. I was then put on a schedule for 11am, making my wait time two hours now for a 10 minute test. I missed school assignments for this. Will never come here again. My son is away at college in Lynchburg. Called me because he was in excruciating pain--probably passing a kidney stone as he has had them before. Since he was not established with a primary care in the area so I did a Google search, I advised him to go to this urgent care facility. He checked in and they asked him for his $45 copayment. He said he didn't have any money with him and asked to be billed, so they told him he could not be seen without payment. They sent him away. They never even asked him what he needed to be seen for--he could have been having a heart attack for all they knew and they would have sent him away! I didn't know that he didn't have any money or I would have given him my credit card number before he went there. He was bent over in pain in obvious distress, and no one showed any concern whatsoever. We have excellent insurance and I didn't even think about the copayment -- This is despicable! He called me and I called in the $45 payment so he could be seen. I spoke with both Chris and Melissa who confirmed for me that this is their policy. They won't see anyone without payment of copayments up front--so it is their practice to send people away who can't pay. Hmmm. Complete lack of compassion. I think I'll advise my son to take his good insurance (and copayments) elsewhere. read more

One star is generous, in my opinion. I have been to this location multiple times for various things (probably 15 or so in my 4 years here) and I have only had 1 or 2 positive experiences. They did a urine sample once to see if I had a UTI and they told me the test was negative, even though I had many other symptoms. I went to a real doctor a few days later and they said it was clear that I had a UTI. It only got worse from there. I started taking allergy shots from an allergy center back in Maryland, and MedExpress informed me that they could continue my shots while I'm living here. They screwed up the billing even though my insurance company called them and spoke beforehand, and the nurse refused to give me my next dose of shots multiple times because there was redness around the injection. ITS SUPPOSED TO HAVE A SMALL REACTION-- BECAUSE IM ALLERGIC TO IT. I am now set back nearly 2 months in my injections. Needless to say, they are impolite, incompetent, and not worth your time. Yes, it's a very efficient medical center, but they have given me no reason to believe that they truly know what they're doing or that they care about the overall well-being of the patients. read more

Small clinic in Lynchburg that is part of a larger chain. While they are not able to take care of serious life threatening problems, they are great for strep throat, vaccinations, and minor illnesses. I have been happy the 4 times I've been here. I also pay cash and never paid more than $120 for a visit. Also got good prescriptions when needed that weren't too expensive. So as I was going through many well wishing emails and text messages from friends Christmas Eve evening, a message pops up at about 6PM, you have a "credit change"; i go into my credit watching account, with no claims, never having one and always excellent credit; they show up as being the ones evil and nasty enough, thinking I would ruin perfect credit, no requests from them or their incompetent clients, a "medical clinic" "agent care clinic" called ME MedExpress Urgent Care VA on 21054A Timberlake Road in Lynchburg, Virginia, who I would never go to again, many forms which apparently the "doctors" do not read before prescribing prednisone for a rash, which did nothing but create a problem with my other meds listed on their forms, so after getting worse and other problems, my cancer drs told me it was not to be taken with my other meds and would not fix the problem anyway, my time with the "dr" was about 5-7 minutes and the fee was US$275.00 twice the price of seeing my primary care dr...who knows my needs, but they claimed to be the convenient, quick, affordable solution, I can not afford medical incompetence, pice gauging, and the not hearing from them either, assuming my costly insurance covered it, getting a Christmas Eve gift from these unethical, incompetents. They never sent a statement requesting payment, but slam you on the most sacred of times, mudding a perfect credit record, after dealing with drs regularly since my cancers some 25 years now with its concomitant problems, and NEVER being treated like this nor "enjoying" a ding on my credit.
