It was good that I went in because my blood pressure was running dangerously high. Dr. Modi listened to all my symptoms/concerns and I never felt rushed. He prescribed meds and some additional tests. He called me as soon as test results came in and discussed a plan of action for my health. I had to talk to the doctor several times about how the meds were affecting me and he immediately responded via phone. He adjusted my meds several times until we found what worked for me. I arrived seeking medical attention because my husband was sick, but he was refused care despite the clinic advertising walk-in services. The staff showed little concern for his condition and did not make any effort to offer an alternative solution or explain how I could receive timely medical care. When people visit a walk-in clinic, they are often feeling unwell and expect compassionate, professional treatment. Unfortunately, that was not our experience. I left feeling frustrated, dismissed, and without the medical attention I needed. The most disturbing part was when the doctor came to the waiting area as he heard how upset I was After my husband explained his symptoms, he calmly and in a cold manner stated he could not see him. My question is what kind of doctor refuses to see a sick patient. We have a very good insurance and he simply walked away and did not care about his health situation. It's a fairly under-the-radar, private sector up-by-the-bootstraps kind of place. You know, the ones that do everything so much better than the government with all their blasted oversight. Story: I needed a health screening. Day 1. I got four automated phone calls to my personal phone, four to my office phone, and four emails. These came all at the same time, all asking me to call back to schedule an appointment. Eight phone calls in quick succession equals plenty of voicemails too. So I call back. No one is there (as in, I'm pretty sure no one was working the phones that day), but after 20 minutes on hold I opt to leave a message with my name and number. Because they obviously don't have it already. Day 2, eight more automated phone calls and four more emails arrive in the morning. No humans, of course. Another call back yields only an eternal hold, which I might add, was silent, punctuated every five minutes with an apology and option to leave a message. I didn't leave a message that time, but wouldn't you know it, six hours later, eight more automated calls and four emails! The hilarious thing is that these calls and emails are simply asking me to call them back. No transfer options, no website, certainly no humans. So far they've called me 24 times, sent 12 emails, and provided zero human interaction. I'll keep you appraised of what else comes (bet it'll be voicemails).

She signed off on my Medical Examiner's Certificate Card including her State License number and National Registry number. I have to carry this card with me whenever I operate a Semi Truck. Once home I uploaded a photo copy of my new card and updated my status online with the Florida Division of Motor Vehicles (easy peasy). I found everyone here friendly, professional, and efficient. YES we have a cut? Anyways, they referred us to Nemours hospital in Orlando and ultimately we wasted our time coming here first. They took 3 xray photos, and only provided us with 1 so we had to redo X-rays as the hospital. So thankful we did not let them perform the stitches, it would have been terrible! We got him in at this facility, it was 8pm. They didn't even inspect the bite, instead they just confirmed it was a tick bite and prescribed him antibiotics. Several days later, he had to dig around the wound himself and found the tick head was still embedded in his leg. We will stick with Atlantis, they are much better staffed and take care of their patients.

The environmentalists refused to allow expansion because filling in the one foot deep water around the hospital would affect the sea grass that the manatees eat (despite the fact that the manatees cannot swim in one foot of water). A new and smaller hospital is currently being built on Merritt Island. CCH has a nickname of "Cape Catastrophe". The hospital has an uneven reputation. As a former RN clinical supervisor and acting hospital administrator for a 400-bed hospital in Massachusetts, I have some experience regarding hospitals. I have also worked in an Emergency Trauma Center. The CCH building is old, as are several hospitals in the Boston area. But, old CAN be clean and serviceable. The key to any hospital is the staff and how they are managed, trained, and treated. There are some less than desirable MD's and nursing staff while the great majority do a good job and are professional. However, it is always the bad experiences that stick out. Some basic issues are that most staff have their badges turned so you cannot see their ID, photo or name. Most wear scrubs so you cannot tell the difference between the janitorial staff and medical staff or what they are supposed to be doing there. Most staff do not introduce themselves or tell the patient why they are there or what they will be doing. That is one of the first things students are supposed to learn. The staff is very casual in attitude and do not display the usual expected professionalism in manner, attention to their uniforms, or equipment. I was in the ER with a client as a patient advocate. The patient had continuous uncontrolled bleeding from a procedure two weeks earlier. After a cursory exam and some tests, the staff shrugged their shoulders and said IDK why there is bleeding. "We called her treating doctor who did the procedure and she said to make an appointment in 6 weeks". The patient was sent home only to go the ER at Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne 25 miles away a day later. She was admitted. The nursing care has been good and professional. However, the hospital does not have a regular urologist that works with the hospital and the MD called in privately does not take Health First insurance. At least she is being treated. It is sad that a patient needs a professional advocate to navigate the local healthcare system for basic care. Florida has moved up in its statewide healthcare rating from 48th out of 50 to 42nd beating out Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana. That rating is an average that includes the award-winning Mayo Clinic, UF medical school, Advent Health, Shands, Tampa General, Cleveland Clinic, and Baptist Health Hospitals. Central Brevard on the mainland lost Rockledge Regional Hospital due to raw sewerage backup, bat guano from 10,000 bats living inside the building, and other issues so residents must choose between traveling a distance to CCH or Holmes. Ask questions. It is about YOUR life. You are entitled to the information if you are a patient, medical surrogate or professional advocate. Be polite and persistent to get the information you need to make a truly informed decision. The best action is to remain healthy.

Cape Canaveral Hospital stole our money and did not even provide basic first aid care. Cape Canaveral sucks

Another week went by and I called two times in a day - same lack of result. The last time I told them that this would be the last phone call I made to them. I have still not received a call back. I am now in the process of looking for a new Dermatologist. While I had been very pleased with the medical professionals in this practice, I believe the patient (customer) service is severely lacking - in fact, this last time it has been completely absent.

All in all due to the incompetence of this office and in turn Dr. Halcin's neglect of her responsibility to see and treat, it costs us $8,000 out of pocket over and beyond what the insurance paid.

This location of Medfast (Cocoa Beach, FL) is the only location that we use. We have been going to it for 5 years. The most recent visit was earlier this month (Dec. 2024). My husband was there for upper respiratory infection. The reception desk is very friendly & efficient. We waited no more than 15 mins. He was seen to a room & May (technician) took his vitals. He was then seen by Sondra Schaper, who gave him very positive, friendly, & professional care. She checked him & eventually prescribed two medications that were exactly what he needed. I have read several negative reviews which really surprised us because every time that we have gone to this location, we always receive excellent care. Thank you! read more

MedFast is a great for all of my family that is traveling and simply cannot wait until they get back home. My Aunt was visiting us from out of town and caught a bug! We took her into MedFast and I could not be happier! We had a bit of a wait, but to be expected, she had to fill out her paperwork and there were a few other people waiting to be seen...but I can tell you that we were seen as efficiently as possible! There are no 0 stars. This is the most horrible place ive seen. The staff run around like scared mice. The doctor is a monster. Hes a bully mean nasty arrogant. He yells in the hallway, he was screaming at us and we did nothing wrong. We asked a question and wow unbelievable this doctor wanted to throw out a ill 95 year old and a 99 year old couple. He was very rude mean impossible. His discription of his findings were ghastly. The husband has dementia and was bullied. I woukd highly recommend go somewhere else. read more

I visited yesterday and was so grateful. The staff is wonderful. I have now visited four times and have always been seen quickly and have been treated kindly by all the staff. Yesterday, I was treated by Dr. Kerri Connell. I'd beg to see to see her again. She was very thorough, pleasant to converse with and treated you as a physician should treat a patient.
