Treatment is readily available on days and times that I want. Although there isn't a strong communication on who will be the "massage" therapist, it essentially is 3 to 4 people who rotates for different days. They are pretty brutal with my fire cupping and massage as parts of my body is already bruised (normal part of cupping). The guasha was painful as well. One therapist said to me " no pain, no gain". Treatment includes the "massage part" which is the "cupping" or "guasha", then followed by acupuncture treatment (pulsating electrodes used). The treatment is usually for 45 mins. Massage is about 20 mins; needles in the body for about another 15-20 minutes. The clinic is upstairs. Street parking for 2 hours. I would say 30% improvement since I started this type of modality. Incredibly rude person at front desk as I asked for assistance in the building. I was stunned by the rudeness and dismissive dialogue.

Called this place to find out if they take my insurance. This lady was completely flustered and rude. She told me that I have no idea how health insurance works and that I'll have to pay $200 the first visit and then $150 every visit following and she trailed off. Basically calling me stupid by saying I don't know how insurance works. I def know how it works as I managed health insurance for over 600 employees at one point. Not once mentioning anything about care or services. She kept interrupting me to hold on because she was talking to other people there. So unprofessional and disorganized. I had a super sketchy experience with this place. First they said they took my insurance, and then when they saw I had a high-deductible plan, they said they didn't take it, but then how could they, and why would they run that information if they didn't take my insurance in the first place? Plus they're also listed as in-network on my insurance's web page, so wtf? They wanted me to pay them directly out-of-pocket instead of having them bill through insurance first. Yes, I realize I still eventually have to pay because of the deductible, but at least if they bill the insurance, the cost gets put against the deductible instead of it going nowhere. I think this is fraudulent practice. No thanks. read more

I have been going to Dr. Moon for acupuncture+cupping+massage weekly for 5 weeks now. I am one of those people who are scared of needles, but the acupuncture needles don't hurt at all! When she puts them into my skin, there is a little pinch kind of sensation but that's it. While the needles are in, most likely you won't feel anything. If you are getting acupuncture for pain, the acupressure spots related to that pain may feel a little sore when the needles are in, but it's not that bad. I have been coming in for my headaches/migraines that i had been having every day for a few weeks, and an occasional dizziness. After 5 visits, my headaches/migraines have definitely improved! They are no longer as often and when the headaches do come back, it isn't as bad as before i started doing acupuncture or it doesn't last as long. The last time I went in, I told Dr. Moon that I hadn't been sleeping that well- after my session with her, I felt tired/sleepy as usual, but I got a very good sleep that night after the appointment and the next morning I woke up very refreshed! My 60-minute session always include 20 mins of acupuncture, then massage (sometimes cupping is included). After each session I feel so calm and happy but also sleepy. After a couple hours then I usually don't feel sleepy anymore for some reason haha... The massages I get here are some of the best massages I've ever received...and I am someone who used to get monthly massages at other places. I've had three different massage therapists who work with Dr. Moon, and although all three of them are good, Cameron is the best! (I think his name is Cameron? he's the skinnier guy with curly hair). I don't think we can request which massage therapist to get though :(..but I understand that is so that it makes it fair for all of her massage therapists. This was over due n my 1st review at that time very recommended to those w/chronic pain like myself. Aug 2011 or 2012 one morning I couldn't stand w/o Tears, been like that a couple of wks (bedridden unless using restroom) my reg doctor didn't have a clue except pain meds n encourage cortisone shots or surgery,. I accepted PT&chiropractor, but didn't help so i stopped after couple of times. I was off work over a month, my pain got little better to point I walked by myself but w/pain My wife was going to medi pts n encourage me to try. I said no but after 2months I did go, after her treatment Samantha asked how I felt I couldn't believe the pain was gone + no soreness like it never existed. My wife couldn't believe her eyes I got up with a big smile . I go n get treated when I do get tight/severe pain n after a each treatment +no meds results same thing over again. For those w/chronic pain you have to give Samantha a try. FYI, if u do go make sure to wear loose clothing that can be pulled up/dn, shower well (u dont want to reach n itch while the needles are on u) & use the restroom cause treatment will take up to 2hrs. Very quiet professional and she takes time to explain even u tell her you have questions. Usual visits begin with acupuncture then cupping or massage. I have referred 3 others who can't stop going to see her 1-2 times per week. My kids see her too :) Neck pain resolved. Menstrual cramps almost gone. Allergy symptoms improved. To begin with: I have never had acupuncture before and have very little knowledge of traditional Eastern medicine. After seeing Samantha I will likely use acupuncture again. I have even referred her to my girlfriend for migraine treatment. I was sent to Samantha by my work for additional therapy after my PT had reached a plateau. I have had massages and physical therapy work for previous injuries, but this was a new, and happily a pleasant, experience. Samantha Moon proved to be an excellent practitioner, professional and diligent in her treatments. I was able to schedule flexible appointments even later in the afternoon. (FYI: She works out of two offices so the appointment dates are limited. I've only been to the Menlo Park location.) This location has 4 treatment rooms and one large room for evaluation and treatment. The rooms are fairly quiet but medium noises can be heard between rooms. The office space is clean and well organized with credentials visible. The building location could be hard to find for some, however I was already familiar with the area. Street parking is the real pain! (Much more than the needles that are used for treatment.) The best part for me was the massage work that I received from Hyo Lee. He is one of the two massage therapists that work under Samantha Moon's guidance. I felt that his work was superior compared to the other therapist. Hyo was attentive to the guidance of Samantha and was able to really perform the proper work need to help further my body's healing process. His technique was firm and well guided without causing me undue pain. In one session I actually ended up drooling like a Labrador, it felt so good! If you really want the best this office has to offer make sure that you choose a day when Hyo Lee is working! I am a 24 yr old, who got diagnosed with carpal tunnel & Ulnar Neoropathy. I was on medication for 3 months!! My doctors could not figure out why I kept swelling, i had 2 different braces on my arm!!. I attended the clinic for a few months while recovering from a work injury with a brief break for closure due to COVID-19. They did an excellent job complying with health restrictions for COVID. This is important due to the close proximity that acupuncture and massage require. The acupuncture did an awesome job of completion of healing from my injury. Dr. Moon did a good job listening to what did and didn't work for me. I give the post-acupuncture massage mixed reviews because the quality varied so much with whoever was doing the massage. I was referred to Dr. Samantha Moon for acupuncture and myofascial release after being diagnosed with tennis elbow which is was actually caused by too much mousing/computer work. I wasn't sure what to expect when I went there, but when I left I felt much better. She and her team were very professional, I could tell they knew what they were doing. The massage, cupping and accupunctue provided pain relief right away. My shoulder and arm are much more relaxed and not nearly as tight. I highly recommend Samantha Moon to anyone who is looking for relief from pain and other health issues. I find her skills amazing. She takes the time to explain how your body is all connected. I suffered a lower back sprain and the pain was unbearable. After my series of treatment with Samantha I can honestly say my lower back pain is gone!! The Dr treating me (not my regular Dr) just prescribed pain pills. I do not believe in taking pain pill ongoing so Acupuncture was my saving grace! I also had mentioned that after suffering blood clots in my groin area I had severe pain and could no longer lift my foot to my knee. After a series of CT scans, ultra sounds etc, my primary Dr was at a loss for the cause of such pain. I'm happy to say that after Samantha's treatment, I'm pain free and my leg is 90% better! Samantha Moon May be a great acupuncturist, but her scheduling person is awful. I called, in intense pain, and told her I was covered by Stanford Health alliance. She said that was fine and made an appointment. She called back multiple times during the work day for 'new patient' information. When I showed up, after leaving work early, she asked me to call my insurance because she wasn't sure they were in network. This is something that could have been brought up more than 8 hours ago on the first call. Or on her second call. Or she could have called them herself. I'm now leaving, in terrible pain, because my appointment time has passed. read more
