Before, I didn't really know much about acupuncture and was skeptical about its powers. In the state I was in, however, I realized I was going to take any kind of help I could get. I just wanted to feel better. I found Olivia to be kind, warm, caring, and knowledgeable. Within five minutes of being in her office, my headache and nausea were completely gone. This is something I really did not expect. At the end of my session, I felt very tired and was even able to take a nap when I got home. Since I was hyperthyroid at the time, this was amazing! I had not been able to properly sleep for weeks and noticed that over my next few appointments, I was able to sleep a lot better. I also think that acupuncture helped balance out my body and is a part of why I healed so quickly. Usually, the kind of thyroiditis I experienced can take 6 months-over a year to heal, and mine became normal within a few months. I was even able to go to graduate school in the Fall, which my doctors were surprised about! They thought I might need a year break from everything to heal. Olivia also made herself available by phone and would always listen to my concerns and give advice. I have already recommended her to a few friends who are dealing with anxiety and/ or headaches. It is comforting to know that I have her to go to and that there are ways to feel better without using extensive medication.

I now see her for regular "tune-ups" to facilitate my general well-being. She is skilled, intellectual, caring, and absolutely devoted to the art and science of acupuncture. If you ask her to help you with an illness or injury, rest assured that she will do everything in her power for you -- and also will not hesitate to let you know if she feels she can't help you with a particular issue. I recommend her highly!

After 6 months of consistent treatment with Dr. Lauren, I am very fortunate that my back pain has subsided and my forearms/neck/shoulders just need routine maintenance with acupuncture. Dr. Lauren's approach is most effective. Upon my first and continued acupuncture visits, she patiently consulted with me each time to learn more about my body, menstrual cycle, exercise, food habits and beyond. The treatments are painless and her technique is most skilled. She also recommended me herbs for my infertility and those have also been effective, and natural. Dr. Lauren is most personable, kind and understanding. She is also incredibly patient. It is easy to tell she cares deeply for each of her patients and wants to take the time to make sure their needs are being met, whatever the reason. I would highly recommend her for infertility treatments. Thank you Dr. Lauren and we are so grateful to be expanding our family. Hope this review is helpful for other women looking for a more natural and much less invasive way to conceive. You'll also learn so much about your body along the way! Ps- follow her recommended "sex schedule"!

She offers practical suggestions that actually work, and she takes the time to look for the root cause rather than just treating symptoms. I had been dealing with an illness for 10 years that traditional Western medicine specialists had not been able to solve. Dr. Torrens was relentless in trying to figure it out and she did! I have not felt this good in years! What I appreciate most is that she understands there is a place for both functional medicine and traditional Western medicine. She usually recommends a functional, natural-first approach, but when she sees an issue that needs to be addressed more quickly, she is not afraid to integrate conventional medicine in the treatment plan. When she does so, she will include natural remedies to help with side effects and to support the body during treatment. In my experience, functional medicine can sometimes look at the body through a wider lens, including specialty testing and approaches that may reveal patterns not always captured by standard medical testing. Dr. Torrens brings all of that together with patience, intelligence, and persistence. There is room in everyone's medical care for both traditional Western medicine and functional medicine. When used together, they can be incredibly powerful. Dr. Torrens is an excellent example of that.

I've always been a little hesitant to try something new, but last year I was having some major health issues and a friend encouraged me to try acupuncture. I was introduced to Yaping, the owner and we discussed my issues as well as my hesitation and nervousness on trying acupuncture. She was very patient and attentive and it wasn't long before she settled my nerves and we tried a few needles. I soon realized there wasn't anything to be afraid of and within hours of treatment I could already feel a difference to my health. Since that first visit, I've gone back to see her several times for different health issues: allergies, blood pressure, anxiety, menopause and gastrointestinal problems. I've been amazed at the results and feel so much healthier and am now a true believer in holistic therapy vs taking medicine, having a bunch of tests run that may or may not give the right answers or being told that surgery is the answer. Yaping is a wonderful acupuncturist and really cares about your health and helping you to feel your best and the environment there is very tranquil. With the gentle music playing, the quiet peace and the heat lamps ( optional), I am transported into a meditative, relaxing state. It's a truly tranquil and positive experience.
