A good mix of workout, stretch, and relaxation. Caitlin is an excellent instructor. There is no contact/support during the whole three month process except for scheduling weigh ins and appointments to take blood pressure (which they need to do to cover themselves) - I didn't have a lot of weight to lose so I was fine doing it completely on my own, but I could see where someone who struggles could easily have issues with that. Plus when I first started I did text my 'counselor' when I was having an issue - zero response. For $1400 you'd think someone would be reaching out at least weekly by email. Nope. But, when your three months is up and they want you to reorder they start texting! Not worth it.

They charged me $20 per visit copay and changed their minds to $30 copay and made me pay for it. They claimed I visited 7 times when it was only 5, forcing me to pay more. They refused to make an appointment for me without insurance approval, causing a huge lapse in therapy, deeming themselves useless, and a big waste of time. To top it all off, the Better Business Bureau at BBB.0rg gives them an F rating. As I skim through some of their reviews, I can see they had the same problem.

Faced with the last resort option of a microdiscectomy, I researched the surgery and stumbled upon Dr. McGill's book, The Back Mechanic. After learning about the McGill method, I searched for Master Clinicians and was thrilled to find Dr. Joe locally. When I first visited Dr. Joe, I would describe my pain as 6-7 on a scale of 10 during day time, pain during sleep was excruciating, and normal tasks like tying my shoelaces were difficult. I could barely stand on the train for more than two minutes, and walking for more than ten minutes was impossible. My core strength was nonexistent -- I couldn't do a single glute bridge or even hold a knee-assisted side plank for two seconds. Dr. Joe invested significant time in educating me on proper movement patterns and spine hygiene. He taught me customized core exercises and utilized a variety of techniques like dry needling and Frequency Specific Microcurrent (FSM), all of which significantly improved my condition. Today, I maintain good spine hygiene, and my pain is mostly gone, rating 0-1 out of 10 during normal activities.. I have no pain during sleep. I can walk for over 45 mins without pain and the standing pain has gone as well. Dr. Joe excels at communicating the root cause of my condition and what it takes for both short term relief and long term recovery. What I appreciate most is that he doesn't sugarcoat the process or set false expectations. He is clear that adopting discipline and good movement patterns is a necessary lifestyle change to prevent future disc issues. The exercises that Dr. Joe customzied for me complemented the treatments very well. The dry needling treatments helped me get better at the core exercies which in turn helped me improve my tolerance for day to day activities. My goal is to be able to go back to swimming and sports. While my daily life is pain free, I am not there yet to be able to go back to those activities. Dr. Joe has provided good advice on not rushing back to things without the required healing and strengthening. He has customized exercises and I am continuing to work with him closely to get ready for recreational sports. Beyond just eliminating my pain, Dr. Joe has equipped me with invaluable knowledge about spine hygiene and proper movement, giving me the tools to manage accidental missteps and bumps along the way. I'm grateful to Dr. Joe for helping me find relief from my miserable pain. After some surgeries and home depot-sized screws put in my arms, it was time to search for a PT place near Randolph (I was recovering with family in NJ). Much to my surprise, the area is saturated with PT places! After numerous calls to other locations, I ended up calling Professional Physical Therapy and spoke to the kindest person on the other end of the call, "Thank you for calling Professional Physical Therapy, this is Hope speaking. How can I help you today?" The kindness and the care that I had in that one phone call told me that choosing this place would be the right fit. Hope was able to walk me through the entire process and helped in any way she could to make for a smoother experience for me (especially because I was in full arm splints at that point). From the very first day of being introduced to all the staff members including Hope, Blake, Michelle, Alex, and Hector (now promoted and at a new location) I knew it was going to be the right decision. They took the time to understand my goals post-surgery and get me back to having functioning arms. When I first started going to PT it was the bright spot of my day. Patients recovering in a pandemic can relate to how isolating it can get. They were able to relate to topics that range from Netflix, books, food, travel, fatherhood/motherhood, houses on the market, camping, and the list goes on. I found myself laughing wholeheartedly after a very long time after a very unexpected accident that flipped my world upside down. I started feeling like my old self during my PT sessions especially when I got to interact with such friendly, knowledgeable, and relatable professionals. I also got to meet amazing patients getting PT at the same time. Everyone was so friendly; I really felt a sense of community. Some of us would even schedule our future appointments together. I was very nervous about joining a PT group while Covid was on the rise once again, but they took every precaution to make me feel comfortable. Everything was wiped down and disinfected after each patient; masks were on at all times, and temperature scans were taken at check-in. I appreciated that there are smaller groups during the sessions. Each physical therapist has about 3-4 patients during their busiest times so you continue to get the one-on-one care throughout the session. I got cleared to drive and needed to go back to my original home in Delaware, but I still make the drive all the way to Randolph because the office and staff are exceptional. The level of service, professionalism, and kindness is all white glove treatment. Everyone goes above and beyond in every way to make healing easier for the patients. They are flexible with their appointments, proactive with insurance companies and doctor's offices, will advocate for you as their patient, and incorporate PT that is both comfortable and challenging throughout your recovery. This complaint refers to Professional Physical Therapy in general as an organization, and…read morespecifically the Randolph New Jersey location. Staff was nice/friendly, however everything else not-so-good! The organization charged me a separate fee just for my after-visit summary notes. This is in addition to my co-pays and everything the insurance paid. There was no prior discussion regarding this. I have never paid for after-summary visit notes which I should have access to. Patients need two separate portals regarding transacting business with this organization rather than just one especially for summary notes, billing... ZERO way to actually message the organization through either of the portals. This is a major red flag. No weekend hours: Really? People work and have school. Obviously not enough business to staff the weekends like other physical therapy organizations do. During my sessions my back was injured with a new injury caused directly by the physical therapy. I contacted both my personal physical therapist and the organization through email and was ignored. Thanks! They cannot even get their address right (Website and business cards) as there are multiple buildings in the parking area and their building is not identified. There are many other physical therapy organizations in the area, so I suggest not using this one.

I have had the need to come here on various occasions (lower back, foot problems) and every time I've been here I've had nothing but exceptional service. From the warm greeting of the entire front desk staff, to the kindness and assistance provided by all the Physical Therapy Aides, to the care and expertise of the Physical Therapists themselves. I especially want to acknowledge the gentile bed side manners of Lucinda Quesada (PT Aide). She always welcomes me with a warm smile and an even warmer goodbye. She is meticulous and takes her time to explain clearly the specific exercises that are required as part of my plan of care. I also want to acknowledge two of the therapists, Christopher Jones and Payam Zarrinpour., both are exceptional. They are patient, knowledgeable, and truly take the time to understand my needs and concerns. They have a wide depth and breath of knowledge in physiology and human anatomy. But more importantly, I sincerely appreciate their sense of humor. Not only do their treatments make me feel better but their personality brings out a healthy hearty laugh in me every time. Sure there are many other PT centers. Some much larger, better equipped, and providing a huge suite of services . I know because I have been to some of them too. But IMHO what makes ActiveCare stand out among the rest is their genuine desire and focus to heal you in an environment that is not clinical but rather very family like. I recently had an issue with a frozen right shoulder. My doctor prescribed physical therapy 3 x…read moreweek for 4 weeks . I chose Active Care as I had previously used them many years ago for a back issue. My physical therapist was Payam Zarrinpour. Well he worked wonders ! I had two separate rounds of therapy and exercise and it cured my frozen shoulder. Today I was diagnosed with torn MCL in my left knee again my doctor prescribed PT. I went right back to active care to seek Payam's help! I'm sure in a month I'll be back to my old self skiing away!
