I have been a customer of the Fremont branch of Half Price Books for several years now. Because of…read moretheir extensive selection of books I have been able to read many hard to find books for a reasonable price. I have also ordered from them online with the same positive results. I have also sold many books and other items as well. They do not pay very high prices for the objects. I would check prices before selling there. However, the convenience (they take a very large range of items) can be worth it on its own. They can save you time by not having to try several places that may reject the items because they don't fit their exact customer preferences. Half Price Books is willing to take a lot of items because they are large enough to find a buyer. Finally, I have always found the staff to be friendly and helpful every time I have been there so far.

The selection targeted elementary and middle school age but I also found a good amount for my preschooler. If I was only buying for age 1-4 I don't think I'd fill up a box (mainly because they were almost all paperback and thin) but anything older and you will find plenty. He also sometimes worked in the Livermore store. Like many men, I got a lot of books here based on his recommendations for history. After chatting with me just a couple times, he recognized me when I came in the store, and steered me towards something I could not resist. I'll miss him very much.
