I had to wait 7 days to get a technician to come & check why our system needs rebooting 2 times a day or more. The tech never showed for the appointment today & then told Mediacom that he had completed the job! He dismantled the box in our yard, left it open never came back & when he did this it was in the early morning not at our appointment time. Customer service help me get my Internet working because it's out continuously every single day. They offered me a free EERO to go along in another room since I have one in my living room. I called today to be assisted activating it. Now both the original person and the person today confirmed that it was free and no charge cause I asked the person today and he said yes there's no charge at all ever. So I had to call back 55 minutes later because it would not connect. It was red and the lady made a comment that it was free for the first 90 days and then I would be charged and I told her that's not what the first two people said and she said I'm sorry but after 90 days there's a charge I said send me a label and I'll send it back. Mediacom cannot get their story straight and they cannot keep the Internet connected. I've had a cable running from one house to two houses down outside of my house for the last three months. I have to say how incredibly disappointed I am in mediacom's customer service this week. After experiencing an area-wide internet outage Monday afternoon, Mediacom technicians were scouring our neighborhood, apparently troubleshooting the issue. A tech worked in our cable box (which subsequently has several disconnected coax cables in it). When the area outage was resolved, our house still did not have internet service. A call to tech support led to our modem being pinged, with no response. After multiple calls to tech support on Tuesday and following their instruction for resetting our modem, we still had no service. We were then told the earliest that a technician could come take a look would be Friday afternoon. My wife and I both work from home, doing jobs which are critically reliant on internet service. When I underscored how urgent it was that our internet service be restored, I was told I would be put on an "urgent call" list and that a tech would contact me today (Wednesday) to swing by and troubleshoot. When noon came and went without a call, I called Mediacom again. They stated that they would be unable to send anyone until our Friday afternoon appointment and that dispatch said they were constrained by the coming storm. I spoke with a supervisor who said the same thing. So, the "urgent request they put in, complete with order # was BS). What makes the situation more infuriating is that I've seen 4 mediacom service vans drive past my house this morning. Any one of them could have stopped for 10 minutes to fix our issue, which is probably just a disconnected cable in our box. I was told that my account would be credited for the lost service and there is nothing else they can do. This is utterly unacceptable. Had it not been for the service vans driving around today, I would have thought their story more believable, but this is ridiculous. Assuming they keep their appointment on Friday afternoon, we'll be 4 1/2 days without internet service. I will be looking for another internet service provider that can actually make some stuff happen when it comes to fixing issues that seriously impact their customers' professional and personal lives and will take every opportunity on social media and through networks to promulgate how unsatisfactory Medicom's customer service is. read more

Since the neighbors requested service and their service was created, we have had interrupted service due to new lines being laid . Trying to get this resolved, has been like pulling teeth. Really really bad internet... We live at the sound apartments in Navarre. This is the internet/cable that they include alongside the rent. We have to restart the router daily! We have called and complained about this issue and they stated that it's slow because every apartment is hooked up to one unit. My boyfriend has lost service three times in the span of eight days. Each time he calls in to try to report an outage, he has to go through a phone tree with instructions on how he should unplug his modem, turn off his computer, disconnect the coaxial cable, and disconnect the splitter then connect the cable directly to his modem... and only THEN can he speak to a live human being. As if that's not annoying enough, that live human being does not believe you when you call. I know this to be true because when he got so frustrated with these people that he could no longer bear to be on the phone with them, I also called and had to go through this. They absolutely will NOT allow you to speak to a supervisor. I requested at least ten times to speak to one and the agent would not budge. I finally wound up hanging up on her. Mediacom clearly does not value its customers -- my boyfriend is paying them over $150.00 a month for their service, and is treated this way. Dont even bother. Built a new house in Navarre called mediacom to get service set up. I told them the house was brand new and needed fiber ran over the phone they acknowledged. He escalates a 48 hour ticket.... 48 hours later nothing happens so I showed up at mediascam I mean mediacom and explained the situation. Mediacom, so Mediacom keeps going up and going up and going up you have to call them and try to get your bill brought down again. Their service was basically okay. But they kept billing us things that we didn't understand oh they would have all kinds of excuses for why we had to pay a little bit more. Here's the big deal when we decided to change, at the end of our 2 year contract. They discovered this and because the other television company had to move us back for weeks because of the cable line. Mediacom told us they could charge us anything they wanted and so they made our bill $240 just because they could. Because we didn't have a contract with them anymore and they knew we were leaving. Have had this internet service for a year (because there are no other options) and they are terrible. Very slow internet with awful range. They cap your data and charge for overages (it's 2020?!?). I moved and had to cancel - guess what? No where to stop service online, you have to call and wait on the phone for 20 minutes to talk to someone and ask for a cancellation. They charge you for another 7 days after you cancel (because it takes that long to press a button?!??). And then if they've already charged you for a month, they have to get your new address so they can send you a check by mail. They can't for some reason deposit it into the banking account that you already have connected??? Also she didn't even ask for my new address, I had to ask her about how to get the refund, and then when told by mail, I had to request that she send it to my new address! And they don't offer cable, even though I couldn't care less about cable. So I am effectively stuck with this monopoly called Mediacom. Four years and counting... Internet goes out ~5 times a day out of nowhere, also installation was terrible left the box on the side of my home wide open and left the cover and clippings on the ground. Ran the cable out across my yard and across my driveway. Terrible. If I could give less than a star I would. * update they said it's a bad router, but after intermittent outages the last two days it is now completely offline. Update 2: Mediacom said they would send me a new router in 3-5 business days and on the 5th business day I received an EMPTY box. Called customer support and even they were astounded. Update 3: after receiving no modem they said they'd send or another technician and he came and said some hardware was wrong and swapped it out. Then not one hour later the internet is out again. I called customer support and they said he'd swing by after his next job. It is now after closing that same day and after callin them they said he was supposed to come back but never did. They're sending another technician tomorrow. Update 4: Technician never came. Internet went out intermittently today once again. Update 5: called again after internet completely shutting off and coming back on for ~5 minutes then shutting off again and they said there is no appt for a technician to come out and the earliest they can get him out is THURSDAY. 4 days from now. Constant outages, forever to connect, slow, and horrible customer service from the get go. Speaking of customer service, we were out right lied to three separate times while getting service scheduled. In essence, they tried to tell us WE HAD TO BUNDLE. First time phone, second time cable. Third time my wife called them out after reading some fine print and asked for a supervisor. Was promised a call back.... never happened. Not a good first impression. Now we have to live with their impression every time we turn our computer on and wait 10 minutes to connect then get booted off while trying to stream a low res you tube clip.. I'm extremely frustrated with Mediacom! One of their service techs here on a call informed us that the wiring in the box at the road was bad which was causing ours and our neighbors intermittent service. I'm not sure why it wasn't repaired properly. Trying to contact Mediacom is next to impossible. I have sent three texts through their app with no response. The phone call that I made resulted in an automated message that "due to low temperatures and extreme weather we are experiencing problems in your area". REALLY?! It is 88 degrees at this time and the sun is shining! I have been able to use 38% of my internet this month. Maybe I should just pay 38% of my bill. It's funny how they have no problem when it comes to receiving your monthly payment. I was able to finally get in touch with a service rep and felt that she was a bit rude and talked over me when I was speaking. She did schedule me an appointment for next week and informed me that if they didn't get an answer when they call then I would have to call back and reschedule! I'm military and we move a lot so we've been through a lot of cable and internet providers. Hands down and by far, and I mean far, the worst is Mediacom. We went with them as they were the only providers we could originally get. ATT came in afterwards. With Mediacom, we lose signal all the time both on the TV and internet and we call and get told there is not an outage. I'll call back and then they say, oh, there is an outage in your area (this is a multiple time a week issue). Every time they try to get me to got through the same routine of unplugging the cable, blah, blah, blah. Hey, look at the call record on your system; this is like my twentieth call! The service is slow as well, coming nowhere near the speed that is advertised. Call and they tell you the system is overloaded or some other excuse. Take a look at their website. It looks like a 5th grader put it up. Eh, scratch that. Most 5th graders these days can clearly do better. Functionality. Not so much. So, you have one account to see your bill. You have to create another to see you usage. Uh, does that make sense to anyone. Also, the in person technicians are rude and have treated both my wife and I like we are idiots only to turn around and tell use there is a system/equipment problem. Another example is that they replaced the cable running to the house to see if that was the issue with spotty service. Afterwards, we had to call multiple times to come back and bury it (it was florescent orange and strung from our house to a utilities box by the street). They finally did three weeks later. In doing so, they simply used a trench digging tool and ripped right through my planter border with it vice removing it, digging the trench and then putting it back.
