Some Shoppers Drug Mart (SDM) stores have a home health care store that is separate from the drugstore and is often next door. It appears that these home health care stores have been rebranded and are known as Wellwise by SDM. After my doctor's appointment, I was in need of a wrist spica splint for my slightly swollen wrist and irritated thumb. My go-to drugstore did not carry it. I visited the SDM at highway 7 and Warden. I got a helpful pharmacist who said that he only had a finger splint. He recommended visiting this Wellwise store. He pointed me into the right direction. The store is two doors down from SDM, which is next to T&T. On a Saturday, the parking lot is super busy with folks who cannot back out of parking spots to survive. After seeing a woman take her sweet time backing out and leaving in front of me, I swooped into a spot closer to CIBC and walked over to Wellwise. I saw the splints at the back of the store. Never having worn one, I had no idea which one I needed. I lined up at the front and a female staff member was great helping me out. She recommended the longer wrist-thumb splint. She gave me a medium to try. It fit, but I needed something larger. The one that I settled for is black with red trim, which reminds me of my high school colours. The other one that didn't come in a large was all black. I tried the former on and it was comfortable considering how crazy it appeared. It looks like a mini straitjacket. I had a prescription, so the woman took some time to create an official receipt for me for my claim. She was great. My local pharmacy gave me a photocopy of my prescription, which was faint. I helped the woman with my address and phone number, as they were difficult to read on the prescription. This woman was thorough. She wanted to make sure that spica splint on the prescription was okay for the splint model that I was about to purchase. She checked with her colleague and it was all good. Yay! I paid with a debit card. There is no tax on this type of splint. You can also use your PC Optimum card here to get points. Bonus! I thanked this woman for all her help. I walked out with my new splint in its box. I am probably different when it comes to looking forward to wearing a splint. I simply wanted some relief and help. I got to my car and immediately put it on. I've had it for almost a day now. It's comfortable to wear. I drove fine with it on. I do need to adjust how I type, which keeps my left thumb off the spacebar. I like it. I slept well in it. I also feel like I have superpowers with it on, but I don't! I had excellent help getting a wrist-thumb splint. I got great care and customer service. I also learned so much about splints. It was quite the crash course to find one that suited my ailment. I hope that I don't need to return to this store, but know that you are in good hands if you do need something here. (202)

First off, the female employee treated me respectfully and courteously right from the start. I showed her my prescription and she led me right away to the product I requested. It was an easy sale. But On top of the great service, she mentioned that this would be tax free because of my prescription!! I was not told of this with my previous 2 purchases at another location. Now $6 is not going to break my bank either way but any savings no matter the $$ amount is extremely gratifying. Shame on the other store as I also showed them my prescription. I may have to leave another review on their page only with 1 star. Horrible store. But, this store gets my 5 star treatment from 5 star service. Thank you so much superb employee! It started off rough, not old school Disney's Dumbo rough but more like Pixar's Inside Out rough and ended with my little one and I having the sweetest nighttime moments. My heart swells with joy and pride when I think of how far we came with the help of Magda, our sleep consultant from Good Night Sleep. Here's our story: I have a 3 year old and a newborn. The 3 year old may have worn me down and we established not so healthy bedtime routines. There was a lot of stress leading up to the bedtime routine and honestly, I dreaded it. There would be tears, pleading, screaming that ultimately lead to me giving in and going in to lay with my toddler until he fell asleep. I thought it was a phase and I could deal with it but it wasn't and when the new baby came, I couldn't. That's when I reached out to Good Night Sleep and spoke to Magda. I remember feeling that I could breathe a little easier after that first call. Everything that I told Magda, she'd seen before and she was confident she could help us develop a nighttime routine that worked for our family. She did. She also helped me communicate it to my kiddo and get him excited about it. She was recommended to us from another twin mom and I am extremely thankful for that. Our twins were born at 37 weeks so we couldn't sleep train them until they were four months adjusted and it was a very long four months. Our girl twin was of the mindset that she didn't need sleep and our boy loved his sleep. A lot of twin parents live by the wake a sleeping twin rule but I just couldn't do that to my boy. We would spend 15 - 20 minutes bouncing, rocking, swaying them to sleep for them to only sleep about 15 - 20 mins. Even when they were little they didn't nap in bouncers or swings. It was crazy and so different from our first. I was losing my mind. At night (for all intents and purposes) they were decent sleepers but they were horrible nappers. Jennie did a really good job of talking us (me) off the ledge multiple times. The process was very seamless and easy and Jennie was very responsive. I was leary of working with someone out of state but soon realized that unless they were spending the night with us it didn't really matter. She never seemed far away. She is very down to earth and made us feel very comfortable with the whole process. It is the best experience and best money we have ever spent. I recommend it to anyone suffering and have even thought about becoming a consultant myself.
