Dr. Jay is funny and personable and he makes you WORK! I feel 100% more confident with my BLS skills. I have had many other CPR classes and they were no where near as in depth as this one, in other classes the teacher often looked disinterested, basically didn't even practice compressions, or show us how to properly use the AED or they would just give a brief review and sign us off. I am so glad I did not renew my BLS with these previous guys again! This is NOT the case in Dr. Jay's class. He actually makes you practice till you get the technique right, he made my confidence grow, I learned the AED how to use it correctly, CPR when to do it when not, different scenarios that might happen, I learned how to help an adult, kid, and infant pt who might be choking. It was great and I will be returning for my ACLS and PALS and any further BLS !

I did the HHA and CNA course with them because it was closer to my house. It was going smoothly since i received my classes normally, (You don't really get to touch the mannequin at all, they tend just to show you) until test week came. I paid everything, they already had my money so they didn't care about me passing or not. I asked to pay for review classes, they told me the teacher was in vacation or something like that,(i had called the week prior to know if i could get the review classes the test week and they said yes) they told me the days i could "practice for free" were full. The literally left me with no choice other than look up for other place IN THE WEEK THAT I MOST NEEDED TO PRACTICE... i went to another school and they taught me IN 2 DAYS what I didn't learn in that school in the 2 weeks and a half i was there. I also realized in the other school that this place taught me some things WRONG that would have failed me on my test. If my experience can help somebody PLEASE DO NOT GO TO THIS SCHOOL FOR PASSING THE CNA TEST PURPOSE YOU WILL MOST LIKELY FAIL. Hice el curso de HHA y CNA con ellos porque estaba más cerca de mi casa. Pagué todo, ya tenían mi dinero, así que no les importaba que pasara o no. Pedí pagar las clases de revisión, me dijeron que la maestra estaba de vacaciones o algo así (había llamado la semana anterior para saber si podía ir a las clases de revisión la semana del examen y me dijeron que sí) me dijeron también que los días que se suponía podría "practicar gratis" estaban llenos. Literalmente no me dejó otra opción que buscar otro lugar EN LA SEMANA QUE MÁS NECESITABA PRACTICAR ... Fui a otra escuela y me enseñaron EN 2 DÍAS lo que no aprendí en esa escuela en el 2 semanas y media estuve allí. También me di cuenta en la otra escuela que este lugar me enseñó algunas cosas ERRÓNEAS que me habrían fallado en mi examen. Si mi experiencia puede ayudar a alguien, POR FAVOR NO VAYAN A ESTA ESCUELA CON EL PROPÓSITO DE PASAR LA PRUEBA DE CNA, PROBABLEMENTE REPROBARÁ!

I signed up for BLS and PALS classroom renewal courses and my instructor for both was Marcus…read more Before I have to complain about many things, I wanted to note that Marcus' teaching was clear, concise and straightforward, and I was thankful for it. However, a big problem that me and many of people on here experienced was his punctuality. For my BLS class, he was around 30 minute late to the Pembroke Pines site, and the classroom was locked from the outside (see the picture below). And for my PALS class, it turned into an online (Zoom) class because he said he wasn't feeling well. However, he kept me wait for almost 25 minutes before he showed up on the Zoom. I understand that he has another job and things can be unpredictable, but having all these tardiness all this time is not acceptable. Especially he kept us waiting for half an hour or more. That was just one of the problems I encountered. Now the second one. After I finished the PALS course, I had to keep urging him (texting and emailing) multiple times before he finally emailed me my PALS certificate. This wasn't expected because he told me I'd receive it the next day, and I received my BLS certificate same-day right after my course. Frustrating. Now the courses themselves. For BLS since the classroom was locked, he made the course happen outdoors on the ground level of the building. It was hot outside. I was doing the chest compressions on the manikin drenched in sweat. Luckily the course ended timely so I didn't suffer a heat stroke. And for PALS he just let me do a 50-question written test. No demonstration of skills on a manikin at all, and no hands-on skills test for this course. I remember doing certain procedures like IO access when I did my first PALS training 2 years ago. In summary I went to his BLS and PALS courses because they were one of the affordable ones on AHA. If you are budgeting like me, it won't hurt to train with Marcus but you will have a lot to go through like many of us on here. If you don't mind the expensive costs of the trainings, do yourself a. favor by finding other courses. I gave 2 stars because I was eventually given my 2 certificates without passing the hospital's deadlines.
