Breakfast menu 9/2024
Tornadoroo K.

Great food! Great service! Very Busy! Worth the wait for a table on those really crazy days which happen a lot. Understandably so as the food here is delicious. We met up and put in our number for a table. In about 5 minutes we received a text saying come on in. Packed as usual but the friendly staff and joe made it ok. We ordered a variety of food (grilled cheese, pancakes, omelet, burger etc.). We did have a wait but not as long as many places for the number of people who came just ahead of us. Well worth it as the food was served hot and was delicious- no mistakes to send back. We love this place and my apologies to them for taking so long to review again, I blame the great food as I get there and can only think of eating. Service: great Cleanliness: above average Beverages: Coke products, tea, coffee, juice Restrooms: clean, but small MyFitnessPal: No but easy to put together for most items

This is our go-to place for homestyle breakfast. The food is always delicious - whether you dine for breakfast or lunch. For breakfast, the omelettes are made with 4 eggs and are big enough to share. You can sub fresh fruit for hash browns (but they are so good!) I love the eggs Benedict, made with two eggs, Canadian bacon on English muffins, topped with delicious hollandaise sauce. The pancakes are huge and fluffy - but I don't order them only because they are served with really crappy generic food service fake maple-flavored syrup. If you're going to make epic pancakes, then pleeeeze serve them with real maple syrup!! An option for a berry syrup would also be nice - just don't serve that God-awful fake stuff! Lunches here are also great, especially the fried shrimp and fish & chips. The restaurant is ow Ed by the Nisqually tribe, so the fish is always fresh and tasty. They also make hand-dipped milkshakes. The service is always friendly and attentive, but it can take awhile of the place is crowded. However, the servers are always hustling to get orders out as soon as possible. This is your basic diner, clean, and not outdated. They recently removed the awful booth seats and replaced them with 4-top tables - a nice improvement. I'm always happy to spend my money on tribal-owned businesses, too!

Corned beef hash and eggs.

Solid breakfast and that is NOT my favorite meal. The restaurant looks like it was built in an old drive in fast food joint, the covered parking area gives it away. Had the breakfast and it was so,I'd. The home made corned beef was tender and not the tough stringy kind that gets stuck in your teeth for the rest of the day. Flavor was good and it looked like green and red peppers were mixed in. It was unusual in that there was not potatoes in the hash, instead there was a side of hash browns, which worked. Eggs were done just right, over easy with nice runny yolk. The biscuit though was what stole my heart, well at least added to my cholesterol. A fluffy biscuit that as split and toasted with butter on probably the flat grill. Crunchy and fluffy it needed none of the side of butter that came with it. Overall a very satisfying breakfast.

We came to Medicine Creek cafe as a party of 2 on Sunday at 11:00 AM. We had to wait 15 minutes for a table, but they took our phone number and they sent us a text when they were ready for us. While we waited for our food, we were admiring all of the tribal art they had on display. It was lively and comfortable environment. The only thing they need to improve is the floor to the bathrooms-a little slippery, but nothing a rug couldn't fix. I ordered the classic for breakfast-it was simple, hearty and good. This is a dependable spot for a nice and fast bite to eat!

Convenient little breakfast diner off I5. Has a truck stop kind of vibe, not very quiet as it was super busy on a Saturday morning. Friendly, prompt service and hearty portions. Prices are low to moderate depending on what you get, but my husband and I both took home leftovers. I highly recommend the Mt Rainier breakfast which is hash browns on bottom, biscuits in the middle, topped with sausage gravy and 2 eggs any style. I added bacon and it was the ultimate breakfast!

Billy Frank Double..... delicious
Jeremy V.

The Billy Frank double reigns supreme, a few years ago I tried this burger and I thought it was the best in the area..... a bad economy and inflation can not take this burger down, they have stayed true to their recipe and quality remains, Ive tried many burgers but this remains IMO the best of the best..... comes with fries and a delicious fry sauce...... this place has also won a couple "best of" awards.... Restaurant staff has always been kind and attentive. It very much has a diner feel to it.......You have to try and see for yourself....

Decided to go check this place out today. They are open for dine in with masking and social distancing efforts in place. The waitress was nice...friendly and courteous. They offer a military and senior discount. You can also sign up on-line for extra perks, such as a free beverage. The lunch menu consists of burger, sandwiches, salads and fish n chips. I opted for the Billy Frank Jr Double cheeseburger and I must say that it was pretty good. A little messy--which usually is a good sign! My son got the bacon cheeseburger and was like wow! I should have got a kids meal. He never says that, lol. We also had fried pickles...which we good too. Prices are fair since food is of good quality and decent portions. I do wish that you could sub sides without incurring an extra charge and a side salad would be a good option for those that would like a lighter side but enjoy a good burger every now and again. I would love for them to expand their menu in the future or maybe eventually have dinner options. We will probably return in the future. Great job guys!

What a find! I don't know what I expected - something more cookie cutter perhaps because it's near the highway and also close to Nisqually nature park. Instead, we got treated to an incredible homey locally ambience which also celebrated the Nisqually people, including veterans, with amazing art everywhere (LOVE the Seahawks one done in PNW style). This is a sit down down home no frills yet all inclusive diner. Our friends both got the eggs benedict, which they described as "exactly what you are imagining in your head when you are craving eggs benedict." My husband got a breakfast sampler and only complained that the bacon was a bit overcooked. I was thoroughly pleased with a veggie burger + avocado and tater tots - I was floored that this tucked away spot had veggie burgers at all - hello, Panera didn't even have gluten free bread the last time I checked - and the strawberry on top of all of this was that they had a personalized shake list. Holy moly. Shakes were mandatory all around. How often do you get to choose your flavor and mix and match? How often does the shake machine even work at those "other" places (never)? So happy with this cafe. Thank you for all you do. Keep doing it!

CFS. A preformed patty. Meh

Nisqually. Second time here I like the people but the food quality is slipping. I wasn't a fan of the CFS because it was a preformed patty and the gravy came from a can.

We have traveled from Az all the way to ND and back. We have experienced pretty good diner food to omg! We should have stopped at McDonald's instead. But this little gem was a diamond in the rough find! We good smell the delicious aroma of bacon and butter potatoes when we arrived. Our server Heather was amazing! All the ladies who work there are fantastic but we were really happy to have her, she got everything we ordered correct. The hash browns were buttery & crispy, the bacon was perfect! Crisp & not too salty. The pancakes were fluffy, texture just right! Normally pancakes hurt my stomach but these bad boys I ate up! Without any tummy problems, so happy :0) The waffle was cooked light golden brown, just the way we like it. The ham was amazing, perfect sear and the steak was cooked great. The French toast was cooked all the way through and had offered yummy flavor. The restaurant was tiny but very clean, tables were kept apart, masked required if not vaccinated for staff & guest. Overall our 1st experience was a delight and we hope to return again. Sorry no pictures this time, we drove right into our meals when they arrived. As always support your community where you find it and stay safe out there!

We had a group of 9 walk in on a Friday afternoon and they were able to quickly push together some tables for us. The food was great, I got a chicken fried steak, it was huge!

Breakfast burrito minus meat substituted avocado. No Tater tots but hash browns.

We have been loyal customers of The RAM since 2019 and regularly visit the Lake Stevens and Marysville locations. We genuinely enjoy the food, atmosphere, and service, which makes this experience particularly disappointing. Upon arrival, we waited approximately 10 minutes to be seated, exactly as the host advised. We ordered drinks and an appetizer, both of which arrived within a reasonable timeframe. From the time we sat down until we received our drinks and appetizer was roughly 15 minutes. After that, however, the experience quickly deteriorated. It took another 15 minutes or more before our server returned to take our entrée orders. The server apologized for the delay, which we appreciated, but unfortunately the delays only became worse. We then waited approximately 45 additional minutes for our main entrées, nobody checked in on our table. By the time the food arrived, our patience had run out and what should have been a special Father's Day meal had become frustrating and exhausting. I immediately asked for the bill and boxes. To make matters worse, not all of our food was delivered at the same time. We continued waiting for our pizza, and when it finally arrived, the center was soggy, undercooked, and literally falling apart. At that point, we chose not to send it back because we simply wanted to leave and salvage what remained of our family's celebration. What was most frustrating was the lack of communication and leadership throughout the entire experience. When I asked why service had been so slow, our server explained that several employees had called out. While staffing shortages can happen and are understandable, the responsibility for managing those situations falls on leadership, not on the frontline staff. The restaurant did removed our appetizer from the bill and provided two burger vouchers, but that does not address the larger issue. Despite obvious service issues throughout the restaurant, no manager ever came to our table to explain the delays, apologize for the experience, or demonstrate any concern for my family who was being affected. The only acknowledgment we received was from our server even though she didn't check on us or give us updates on our food. The real failure here was not the staffing shortage itself--it was the management response to it. If leadership knew they were significantly understaffed, guests should have been informed before being seated or before placing orders. A simple announcement from the host explaining that food service was running substantially behind would have allowed customers to make an informed decision about whether to stay or dine elsewhere. Instead, my family was left waiting without information, while expectations remained unchanged. What made the situation even more confusing was watching a larger party seated after us receive their food, eat, and leave before our entrées were ever served. That only reinforced the perception that the restaurant was not effectively managing its operations during the shift or worse, our family was less important than other families seated there which would be heartbreaking if it were true. This is directed at the leadership team that failed to properly support an obviously understaffed staff and failed to communicate honestly with its customers. And making my family feel very less important than others. I have always enjoyed The RAM and hope this was an isolated incident. However, on one of the busiest dining days of the year, management's lack of preparation, communication, and customer care turned what should have been a memorable Father's Day celebration into a disappointing experience.

Clearly, I have to return to try everything else on the menu. The salad has fresh cut romaine lettuce. It is NOT a salad mix. Very flavorful, roasted corn, perfectly cooked flank steak, exactly the right amount of blue cheese crumbles so they didn't overtake the flavor of the salad. The roasted tomato vinaigrette has a smoky flavor to it that was delicious. The dressing was tossed with the salad, not in the side. Another great decision. The gin and tonic was delicious. Food followed fast and hot. I ordered the Shepherd's Pie. Comfort food done right, hearty, well seasoned, and filling. The portion was generous and I took half of it home. One friend had the stroganoff, which was rich, satisfying, and served in a solid portion. Another ordered the fish and chips with crispy batter, flaky fish, and a portion that felt fair for the price. We split the triple berry dessert to finish. Sweet without being over the top and perfect for sharing. The place was clean, well kept, and easy to get in and out of. Plenty of parking, which honestly matters. Prices felt reasonable across the board, especially for the portion sizes. We were so busy chatting that I got lost in conversation and forgot to take photos.

I finally got to try Katsu Burger with my son earlier this week (weekday afternoon), and I can…read moreconfidently say it lived up to the hype! When I initially walked in, it wasn't too busy, but it filled up quickly while I was still figuring out how to order. They use a kiosk system where you choose dine-in or takeout, and it's nicr that each menu item had photos and ingredient descriptions so it made it way easier to decide, especially for our first visit. The space itself is small and quaint with a couple tables, but full of lovely art. There's lots of cute anime and Japanese-themed decor, including figurines, plushies, and artwork, giving the place such a cozy, cutesy aesthetic. I also noticed they might be hiring, based on the sign at the entrance. I came here because my cousin-in-law (who lives in upper Washington) mentioned the place, and I needed a redemption meal after being disappointed by another chicken spot recently. Katsu Burger definitely delivered! The burgers here aren't your typical American-style burgers. They don't taste as greasy and sub cabbage instead of lettuce, similar to garnish for a tonkatsu plate. And surprisingly, the photos on the kiosk actually match what you get (no false advertising here!). The employee behind the counter was super kind and helped guide us through the ordering process. I don't think they take cash so maybe that's why orders are placed through the kiosk. For food: My son ordered the Tokyo Tower burger as-is, and I tried the Umami Burger with light cabbage (not a huge fan of crunchy water veggies like lettuce/cabbage/etc.). Both were AMAZING. I have heard of tonkatsu but I had no idea what beef katsu was before this. Thought it was just a regular beef patty, but wow.. it was crispy, flavorful, and just overall delicious. We ordered takeout and didn't even get home for about 30 minutes, but the food was still warm enough to enjoy without reheating. Portion-wise, my burger was perfect: filling but manageable (i think i made the right choice with light cabbage). My son's Tokyo Tower was massive (almost too big for him to handle xD), but we both agreed everything tasted incredible. I was tempted to try a bento box, but I knew I wouldn't finish it if I was already ordering a katsu burger. Next time though! My son already has his eye on the enormous Mt. Fuji burger, so we'll definitely be back. Parking is decent, though it can get busy during the day since it's near a gym and other businesses. Overall, if you're in the Lacey area, you HAVE to try this Katsu Burger at least once. It looks like they have about 8 other locations too in the other towns so if you're not in Lacey, there still might be one nearby you. The burgers are absolutely the star of the show :) I'm already looking forward to our next visit!

We only waited a few minutes for a table for four, which wasn't bad considering how busy it was. Our server also took our orders within a reasonable amount of time after we were seated. The only downside was the wait for the food. While I understand they were busy, it was a bit off-putting that everyone's meals arrived at the same time except for my son's order--which was just chocolate pancakes. By the time his food came out, the rest of us had already mostly finished our meals. Usually everything is brought out together, so that part was a little disappointing. Aside from that hiccup, the food itself was enjoyable. I ordered the Belgium waffle combo with strawberries, hash browns, bacon, and eggs. Everything was cooked well and it definitely satisfied my hunger. My family also thought their pancakes tasted good. Overall, it was a decent experience.
