I've been wanting to try this place every time I visit my daughter. Breakfast is my favorite meal and this place did not disappoint me. The food portions are good and you get what you pay for. The food is very good. I ordered my go-to, the Two egg breakfast with two sausage patties (big), hash brown, toast. I also got one buttermilk pancake to share with my wife. Everything was great. Serving size is worth the price, plus I won't be eating lunch today because I'll be full all day. My son-in-law got the Tacoma breakfast, it was huge and looked good. He said it was very good and he also will not be eating lunch today. The service was great. The waitress was friendly and came to our table often to check on us. So glad I finally had the chance to try this little spot. It's tucked away right off the exit but it's got good parking. We were greeted promptly and the staff were genuinely friendly. Gave me that hospitable welcome , ya know. When you walk in, it's a small area but more on that ol' school cozy kinda joint where regulars come in. It's nice. Now for the food. My hubby got the Tahoma. Chicken fried steak on top of biscuits and hash browns and gravy on the side. Just because the portion is GINORMOUS!! our server suggested for us to get gravy on the side to eat later and keep from it getting soggy. Thanks Heather!! My Loco mock was okay. This is our go-to place for homestyle breakfast. The food is always delicious - whether you dine for breakfast or lunch. For breakfast, the omelettes are made with 4 eggs and are big enough to share. You can sub fresh fruit for hash browns (but they are so good!) I love the eggs Benedict, made with two eggs, Canadian bacon on English muffins, topped with delicious hollandaise sauce. The pancakes are huge and fluffy - but I don't order them only because they are served with really crappy generic food service fake maple-flavored syrup. If you're going to make epic pancakes, then pleeeeze serve them with real maple syrup!! An option for a berry syrup would also be nice - just don't serve that God-awful fake stuff! Lunches here are also great, especially the fried shrimp and fish & chips. The restaurant is ow Ed by the Nisqually tribe, so the fish is always fresh and tasty. They also make hand-dipped milkshakes. The service is always friendly and attentive, but it can take awhile of the place is crowded. However, the servers are always hustling to get orders out as soon as possible. This is your basic diner, clean, and not outdated. Solid breakfast and that is NOT my favorite meal. The restaurant looks like it was built in an old drive in fast food joint, the covered parking area gives it away. Had the breakfast and it was so,I'd. The home made corned beef was tender and not the tough stringy kind that gets stuck in your teeth for the rest of the day. Flavor was good and it looked like green and red peppers were mixed in. It was unusual in that there was not potatoes in the hash, instead there was a side of hash browns, which worked. Eggs were done just right, over easy with nice runny yolk. The biscuit though was what stole my heart, well at least added to my cholesterol. A fluffy biscuit that as split and toasted with butter on probably the flat grill. Crunchy and fluffy it needed none of the side of butter that came with it. I like this place because they have a covered eating area so you can dine outside with your dogs, but if you don't want to, you can head inside and if you come early enough, the roof of the patio will cover your car and keep your dogs cool. Decided to go check this place out today. They are open for dine in with masking and social distancing efforts in place. The waitress was nice...friendly and courteous. They offer a military and senior discount. You can also sign up on-line for extra perks, such as a free beverage. The lunch menu consists of burger, sandwiches, salads and fish n chips. I opted for the Billy Frank Jr Double cheeseburger and I must say that it was pretty good. A little messy--which usually is a good sign! My son got the bacon cheeseburger and was like wow! I should have got a kids meal. He never says that, lol. We also had fried pickles...which we good too. Prices are fair since food is of good quality and decent portions. I do wish that you could sub sides without incurring an extra charge and a side salad would be a good option for those that would like a lighter side but enjoy a good burger every now and again. I would love for them to expand their menu in the future or maybe eventually have dinner options. We will probably return in the future. Great job guys! read more

What a find! I don't know what I expected - something more cookie cutter perhaps because it's near the highway and also close to Nisqually nature park. Instead, we got treated to an incredible homey locally ambience which also celebrated the Nisqually people, including veterans, with amazing art everywhere (LOVE the Seahawks one done in PNW style). This is a sit down down home no frills yet all inclusive diner. Our friends both got the eggs benedict, which they described as "exactly what you are imagining in your head when you are craving eggs benedict." My husband got a breakfast sampler and only complained that the bacon was a bit overcooked. I was thoroughly pleased with a veggie burger + avocado and tater tots - I was floored that this tucked away spot had veggie burgers at all - hello, Panera didn't even have gluten free bread the last time I checked - and the strawberry on top of all of this was that they had a personalized shake list. Holy moly. Shakes were mandatory all around. How often do you get to choose your flavor and mix and match? How often does the shake machine even work at those "other" places (never)? We have traveled from Az all the way to ND and back. We have experienced pretty good diner food to omg! We should have stopped at McDonald's instead. But this little gem was a diamond in the rough find! We good smell the delicious aroma of bacon and butter potatoes when we arrived. Our server Heather was amazing! All the ladies who work there are fantastic but we were really happy to have her, she got everything we ordered correct. The hash browns were buttery & crispy, the bacon was perfect! Crisp & not too salty. The pancakes were fluffy, texture just right! Normally pancakes hurt my stomach but these bad boys I ate up! Without any tummy problems, so happy :0) The waffle was cooked light golden brown, just the way we like it. The ham was amazing, perfect sear and the steak was cooked great. The French toast was cooked all the way through and had offered yummy flavor. The restaurant was tiny but very clean, tables were kept apart, masked required if not vaccinated for staff & guest. Really enjoyed this little diner! It's convenient and serves your typical diner food. I had the Tahoma breakfast, which was hash browns, three eggs, biscuits, gravy, and chicken fried steak. If you can't tell by the description, it was way too much food and made for more than one meal. It was tasty though, fresh fried hot and crispy and perfectly poached eggs. The biscuits felt unnecessary, and a bit dry so I didn't end up eating them. My date got the meat scramble, which was just what you'd expect. Coffee was brought in a carafe to the table, which I always like because we can warm up any time. Service was friendly and attentive. We were seated in a booth that was kind of falling apart, and whenever I sat off to the side, I'd end up sliding into the middle ditch. All part of the charm I guess haha. I came hungry and left still kinda hungry. When you walk in, you can tell they need to get their HVAC maintained because there's a distinct odor and your HVAC shouldn't sound like someone is beating a drum on top of the roof. The food was okay. The eggs are watered down with a lot of milk, there wasn't a ton of vegetables, and their hot sausage wasn't hot. My husband also had watered down eggs but was heavier on cheese then toppings. The service is great, the price is not bad, the quantities are suitable. With a few tweaks, I think this place can really become a 5-star hangout. I just feel like they're lowering quality through quantity of ingredients. It would be cheaper to lower the menu options for a limited time so you aren't running out of products just to try to make your menu. read more

It has been quite a number of years since I have been in what I would consider a true cafe. They don't seem in abundance in northwest WA and I don't frequently even see them much in my travels, but I see the Yelp reviews and wanted to check them out before visiting the nearby wildlife refuge. Masks are indeed required as it is a government mandate and tables have been positioned to observe social distancing. My friend and I were immediately greeted upon entering. I don't think the door had even swung shut behind us before the woman behind the counter said hi and told us to seat anywhere we wanted. We opted for a side booth near the kitchen. A sign on the soda machine stated it was use by the wait staff only and had all the basic Pepsi products one could want. The menu was very large - lots of different burgers, some different sandwiches, and a full breakfast menu that is available all day. My friend opted for three eggs and hash browns while I ordered the basic cheeseburger. We also got an order of fried avocado as I never had seen that on the menu before. Personally I may recommend another order of fried appetizer over the avocado because the while the seasoning was great the avocado flavor was quickly lost. Interesting concept tho! The burger was good. It wasn't anything exceptional but I would easily say it was a very solid burger - enough cheese, cooked well done, and very filling. The tater tots also were good standard tots which you can't really beat if you love tots. Our waitress was prompt and attentive the entire time we were there. I thought she was great! The decor reminded me strongly of many cafes I have seen but with frames tribal art which caught my attention. The booth seat was a bit deflated on one side but since it was just me on my side I just went to the far end and it was fine. Overall a solid experience! read more

i love this place so much! can't go wrong with just about anything on the menu, except maybe the coffee... everything i've tried, my husband has tried, our family and friends who we've brought here have tried has all been delicious. big portions, reasonable prices, friendly and quick service. what more could you ask for? i'm a big breakfast fan, and their plates AND breakfast sandwiches are all divine. and huge--come hungry! my husband enjoys a good breakfast, but is really partial to the fried chicken sandwich here. it never disappoints. the shakes are also well-portioned and tasty, and they come out of the kitchen quickly. the coffee leaves a bit to be desired, but honestly, absolutely not a dealbreaker. especially in washington where there is fabulous coffee everywhere, get your caffeine fix (if you need it) before or after you fill your belly here. we come here fairly often--we started with takeout during the pandemic but have eaten in since they reopened dining. we definitely will continue to do so, it's a hidden gem and one i'm always happy to suggest or visit. read more
