Lovely park with water views and access. The train playground is a bit outdated compared to other Bellevue parks but my young kiddos don't mind since it has swings. Lots of parking, walking trails and wide paths perfect for biking, jogging and strolling. Always be mindful of what you leave in your car as it can be hard to see the cars from the beach. read more

Picnics and strolls along the pleasant promenade are great at the beach. The large, pristine beach provides an excellent location, albeit the cool breeze can be a detriment. Due to swirling dry leaves, high winds limited our stay to 30 minutes during my visit. The neighborhood exhibits both positive and negative characteristics of gentrification, yet this does not detract from the entire experience. It's a small little park with nice water views. The playground is a bit of a walk from the car parking area so please don't leave valuables in your car. I liked the non moving train climbing area for my toddler. It was a perfect height and size for him to explore. It has wood chips which I hate but hopefully they will upgrade it in the future. It's very quiet in winter but I can see it being packed in summer when you can go swimming in the lake. read more

Lovely lovely lovely gem in Newcastle. We frequently visit this park in the summer. This park is right by Exit 9 on I405. Kids love playing at this beach. Though, the bottom is little rocky, the water is shallow and gets warm in the summer months. Lifeguard is on duty from June to September. Playground, picnic tables and bbq grills are just steps away from the beach. This is a very family friendly park. The flat lawn is perfect for frisbee and badminton. The park is clean, well maintained and at a convenient location. In the evening, parking can sometimes get challenging as it attracts many families. During the summer months, pets are not allowed however. read more

Along the border of Lake Washington, this is a great park with a nice view! Our party had reserved one of the shelters which comfortably provided enough seating for about 50-60 people (about 10 tables with 6 people at each). A grill was available for use (although not sure how clean it is) and there was a good amount of space surrounding the shelter to set up a buffet line. There is a huge grassy field which allows for various groups to spread out at once and a fairly large play structure for the kids. The beach area is just after a short walk through the park - the sand area is fairly small, but would be a great place to relax. As for the lake, boundaries section off the area for swimming and lifeguards keep a close eye even if no one is in the water. To take in the view of the lake, walk along the pier, which people also use to fish. Parking was very easy to find. There are two lots - one paved and the other gravel. I arrived around 4:00 pm on a sunny day and the paved lot was filling up, but the gravel one was completely open. Bathrooms are located closer to the beach and appeared to be well-maintained. Overall, if hosting an outdoor event, this is a park I would recommend. read more

Though the name of the park is Newcastle Beach Park, it is actually located in Bellevue. But practically at the south end of the city boundaries. This beach park is located on Lake Washington. It has a view of I-90 in the distance as well as Seattle on the other side of the water. The view southward is cutoff since the beach lies a little more inward. This is not a huge beach. The amount of sand here is rather modest. It has a swimming dock, several picnic areas and a playground. The park is family friendly as it is full of kids running around. I did notice that the picnic areas need to be reserved if you want to use them. The picnic areas here do have room to barbecue so it would be good for a group event. As for parking, there are two separate lots. One that is paved and one that is on gravel. The gravel one seemed to have a bit more spaces available. I think this beach is okay, but the demographics here make me feel a bit out of place. It seems more geared for families. Gene Coulon Park in Renton seems to have a more diversified mix of beachgoers if you are particular about this. read more

Beautiful park for kids and adults! But please please please don't leave your important belongings in the car. We were with our kids yesterday for an hour at the park and during that time span, 3 cars without tinted windows were broken into. Those of us at the park did not hear anything. The parking lot is off by itself and close to the freeway. Vandals see this as an opportunity to steal. So please put away all your belongings and lock your cars!!! There's a reason why there are signs posted in several places reminding you to be careful. Otherwise this is an awesome park for your family especially during the spring and summer. what a cute little park! there is a large field for sports and play, a cute playground, mini beach/sand area. little boardwalk and even bbq grilling areas too. the parking can be a hassle on a busy day but overall a great alternative to coulon beach which can get overly crowded. due to the recent stay at home orders, the birds have taken over the park as of late and created quite a mess of fecal matter throughout the park. so it's funny to see people complain about nature being nature. though it's not a pleasant experience the problem will go away eventually as people start to come back to parks the birds will have to go some where else. 5 sexy betches hit the beach, yet again, looking to get some sun and some swim on. This is a nice park. Great play toy and area for the kids, wide open grassy areas, cordoned off swimming area, sandy beach, nice over water boardwalk. Being in Newcastle means two things (1) lots of rules, all meticulously posted and (2) immaculately maintained. The one downside I discovered today is being there anywhere near dusk and making the mistake of walking down the asphalt paths instead of through the grass. My daughter Selena took the grass route. Delilah, Michelle and I however, did not. What awaited us down the paved path? Swarms of huge, vicious mosquitoes. I swear, you will think I am exaggerating for this review, but the bastards chased us down. Even while swatting like a mo-fo I was COVERED in them and have about a dozen bites in the 30 seconds it took us to run through. Perhaps they spray the grass area to discourage these buggers..leaving them to hunt down unsuspecting travelers of the path. I can't discount all the great things about this park because of that gang of vampiric insects though, so Newcastle beach park gets my thumbs up. read more

There is a sandy area at the beach, as well as a lots of grass for recreation, laying out, etc. Beware, there is often quite a bit of goose poop around and dogs are not permitted in the mark between June and September. This park has everything! Awesome playground equipment, lots of parking, many picnic shelters and it's just a really nice place to hang out. The beach is really cool with a nice swimming area for the kiddos and a nice pier for walking on the water! Every year, my in-laws have their family picnic, and reserve the non-covered, shady part on the Northwest side of the park. It's wonderful because it's shady, close to the water, but isolated enough from the rest of the park to be almost private. My 11 year old son loves to come to the park for the swimming and the nice grassy areas. We like coming to the park because whether it's sunny or not, it's a beautiful spot to reconnect with family! read more

The water is clear! I can see my feet. My toes danced along as I slowly waded into the water, trying not to let the tiny waves hit anywhere that hadn't already been introduced to the water. The sun was out, people were diving off the platform in the middle of the swim area, there were kids in the play ground and a large group of people playing soccer. I LOVE Seattle summers!! Adding a bit of humor to this neat little Beach Park; there is an actual sign that reads: NO COMPETITIVE BREATH HOLDING! So, for all you juveniles trying to see who can stay under the water the longest...I triple dog dare you! HA! Yes, I'm trouble. I can't imagine wanting to be here when it's super busy and really hot out! This is only because I'm positive that this place is packed in the afternoons and early evenings. Unfortunately, as previously mentioned...the swarm o' squeeters come out late evening and monopolize the sidewalk secretly until you and your companions approach...then, it's ATTACK TIME. Nicely protected swimming area with water that warms up nicely due to shallow depth (on the flip side, its almost too shallow!!). The little kids roped off spot is a bit small. Requisite swimming platform (unfortunately often adorned with duck poop). On busy summer weekends, it can be pretty busy with lots of families and the parking lot might even fill up. No concessions other than a pop machine, so bring your own goods. read more

Great park with huge grass area, playground, water play area with floating dock. We haven't had issues with geese poo, but I hear at times it can be bad. Place is always clean. Nice spot to hang out on a sunny day by the water. Lifeguards in summer. You do have to do a quick swim test to use the floating dock. Dock is long and you can walk out on it. Bathrooms available. No 5th star because on a weekend, once summer hits, there is not nearly enough room for a large number of people on this beach, and I expect it to be significantly less awesome. I came to this beach because I have a 1 year old and there are plenty of other young children there. I've been to a handful of other beaches on the eastside, and this is, so far, the best due to the amount of sand, the quality of sand, and the quality and accessibility of the water. The playground is also a plus for young toddlers and is close to the sand. This beach has sand - not pebbles. The water isn't murky, and the water temperature wasn't freezing. As with all the beaches around these parts, the beach area is small, but not anywhere as small as Houghton Beach or Chism Beach. Coming from California, all beaches here are hilariously tiny. There's a large parking lot and it's easy to get to. Tip: put your name on your sand toys because everyone has the same ones and they're scattered everywhere! read more

I never even knew about this place, so big thanks for my Yelp app on pulling it up when I searched for parks lol.. From now on, I do believe I will be bringing my kids here more often on sunny days. It's a cute park; great for BBQ's, tanning, playing in the sand and water plus a playground for the kiddos. At first glance, you get the impression that it isn't very big but surprisingly it has quite the space. There are a good number of tables and grills and lots of room for multiple groups to play things like football. Parking is somewhat a pain but most beach parks are like that anyway. I didn't find any parking down by everything but I did manage to get a space just right at the beginning of the hill top. Nice to know I have other options than Coulan and Golden Gardens nearby. read more

Took my lil girl here on a pleasant Sunday afternoon. It's got a nice expansive lawn for frisbee and football tossing and plenty of shaded benches for lounging, spaced far enough apart to afford a small sense of privacy. Being so close to the water, the lake breeze was refreshing too. I can kinda see why some people would have a issue with parking as the lot is a bit on the small side, but the upside is that there are lots of shaded spaces to keep your car cool. The playground, too, is somewhat small and definitely geared more towards younger kids; my 8-yo made the most of the swings, twisty slide and bouncy/balance contraptions. Surface is the typical soft mulch. Nothing bad to say about the actual beach itself; it's prime park real estate full of frolicking kids and adults relaxing/tanning on lawn chairs. Overall a really nice place tucked into the woods not far off the 405! We will be coming back. read more

Small family oriented park. Perfect for family time. I can imagine that it can get crowded on weekends, but I took my parents for a bit of chill time before catching a flight at SeaTac on a Monday which presented us with only a small summer crowd. In July, it is was just a perfectly calm place. The park is well kept, has Lifeguards on site for the small swim areas. There is also plenty of shaded picnic areas and benches along a cement path. If you go swimming be prepared to deal with the lake kelp. As one girl put it, "It's like walking through a soft green cloud." Cute right? Take your water shoes! read more

Took the kids to this beach park for the first time since they were getting bored with the other parks we've been taking them to on the Eastside. In general, the park itself is a good size. It wasn't overly crowded when we went, and the kids enjoyed playing in the sand near the water. They didn't care however for this Asian family who had some unruly older kids come up to us and just take the large pieces of wood that we were playing with away without asking. Serious rudeness since they pretty much destroyed my son's little sand creation. I was pissed and told the older boy that he needs to stay in his area, and if he had wanted the wood, he needs the manners to ask....all the while, his parents were sitting nearby just chattering away. I have nothing against Asians since I'm Asian myself, but come on! Where's the common courtesy? In any case, aside from that note, the park has a small play area for the kids, but apparently my kids weren't really impressed by it since they got bored really quick, and wanted to leave. Overall, I would come back to this park. It's a good family place to spend some time for BBQ's/picnics since they have some picnic areas, relaxing, and the kids get to release any pent up energy and just enjoy themselves read more

I've lived here my whole life, so I'll write a short review and not spend too much time on it. I go here every summer with my friends and bring my girlfriend here to watch the somewhat of a sunset, and walk around and see the ducks. The small beach is nice, and when there are lifeguards you feel safer. The water is not the cleanest, but the playset with kids adds more liveliness. You can always see events going on here. There's a little trail which is nice for a brief walk as well. read more

We go down to this park all the time. A nice large grass field, picnic shelter, paved paths, a decent supply of wooden picnic tables, a short nature trail, a long dock and a nice swimming area with a floating platform all contribute to making this one of nicest parks in the exceptional Bellevue Parks System. There is plenty of room at this lake front park and even on the nicer days you can usually find a good spot for a picnic. Kids always have a blast here. There is good swimming next to a playground and the nature trail is short and flat and has little shortcuts to the more natural side of the beach plus a bunch of birds and foliage to enjoy. The only knock on this great park is it's unfortunate location just below 405 but I suppose that there is something to be said for ease of access. read more
