We're so happy with the work that Ricardo did at our house this week. We had an old planter area that was dry dirt and some old rose bushes, and we finally reached out to someone to fix it up for us because I realized that I'd never do it myself. We found Medina's Landscaping on Yelp, and they had good reviews, so we called them to get an estimate. Ricardo came over and we gave him a general idea of what we wanted, but we really had no idea how to do it. We also had an old piece of lawn that wouldn't grow anymore because of a big tree root, and he said that he could fix that too. He sent us pictures of the plants that he thought would work in the partially shaded planter before he started to be sure we liked them. He them came over and dug up the whole planter area and filled it with good dirt and then filled it with plants and put in a stone waking path. He redid the watering system to cover all of the new additions. There's also some ground cover that will fill things in nicely once it spreads out. He then cut out the old sod and removed the tree root that was stealing all of the water and nutrients from the lawn and replanted fresh sod. He did all of this in one afternoon and the following morning for a very fair price. We had a lot of communication throughout the whole process from Ifsha, and they reached out the next morning to be sure everything was ok, and offered to come back to check on it at a later date to be sure everything is going as planned. I will absolutely be using them again for my next landscaping project, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone read more

I rarely post reviews online, but, in this case, I feel obligated to share my experience with this company. Ricardo came out to our home to take measurements and to provide an estimate for a potential re-sod and some irrigation work. We were in a very tight timeline and needed to work with a vendor that could commit to a concrete start/end date, and I was very up front and forthcoming with Ricardo that we needed to have the work complete by a specific date. When I asked him how soon he could begin the work on our property, his response was "you just let me know and we can get started, no problem." He followed up the next day with a written estimate. As with any contract, we hoped to see a bit more detail with regard to the agreed upon scope of work, including a timeline for a start date and projected completion date. When we requested this information, it took two days to respond with an up to date contract. On top of that, the scheduler, Ifsha, communicated that Ricardo could begin work "at the end of the month." This was several weeks after the deadline that I had communicated to Ricardo at our very first appointment. I communicated that this was not acceptable, and Ifsha continued to serve as a point of contact, attempting to offer some alternative scenarios and timelines, which I appreciated. I finally received an offer from Ifsha and Ricardo to begin work on a Friday and to end work within the our original timeline. I called to ask a few more details be included in the contract, as, again, the scope of work was not clear in writing (and we never hire anyone without having the agreed upon work on paper). Within two hours of that phone call, I received a text that Ricardo had taken other work and would no longer be able to start my project (which we had been told could start the next morning, and after I had already agreed to sign the contract pending a few clarifying questions that Ifsha was going to ask Ricardo). I called Ifsha, and her response to me was that I should call Ricardo because "he communicated that he felt I (the client) was questioning whether he could even do the job." I let Ifsha know how unprofessional I felt this was. I have never dealt with a vendor that didn't appreciate a well informed customer that simply wanted to make certain that we had a solid written agreement before beginning work on an expensive project. I can not recommend that anyone's deal with a company that is not willing to commit to a work calendar, that provides conflicting information from consult to contract, and who's proprietor becomes insulted when a potential client asks some simple clarifying questions about the scope of work. read more

I can't say just how pleased I am with Medina's Landscaping. From start to finish they made the experience enjoyable. I contacted close to a dozen landscaping companies to get a quote to landscape my backyard, and I was only able to get two companies to come out. One quote was astronomically high, and Medina's came in at around what I was expecting. We decided to go with Medina's, and I am so glad that we did. The first impression was great, as Ifsha responded to every email I sent within 30 minutes. I think that customer service is lacking in the home improvement business, so this was greatly appreciated. Ricardo was really great at helping me take my ideas and make them into a reality. He was very flexible when I made changes along the way. I also can't say enough about his attention to detail and the cleanliness of his worksite. He was so meticulous that one of the days he left after the sun went down, and while I was satisfied with the condition he left my yard in, he apparently wasn't. I saw on my security cameras that he stopped by the next morning to do a more thorough cleaning, even though he wasn't really planning on working on our yard that day. It's nice to have someone working on your house that respects the fact that you still have to live there during construction. Overall, this has been a really good experience, and now I'm left with a yard that my family and I can enjoy for years to come. Oh, and I forgot to mention that when we had him remove our palm tree as part of the job, he dug the roots out and everything. No half a$$ job like so many tree removals I've had. We had Ricardo and his team tear out our old, struggling lawn full of weeds and crab grass and replace with new fescue sod. Ricardo took the time to explain why we needed to spray a few more times and keep the water on (so the poison goes to the roots), and then he came by to check on the progress while waiting for the poison to sink in.
