Chicken Kabob platter with hummus and falafel
    Cassandra M.

Lunch buddy adventure! Just another great lunch off the beaten path. Great service, great food. It is a grocery store / eatery so don't be shocked by proximity of food tables to the grocery shelves. By pass the fast food places nearby and come here.

It's a grocery store/ bakery. They have a wide variety of pastries, sides (grape leaves) , fresh sauces/dips (hummus, tahini, garlic ) to shop from. Parking is convenient. We ended up getting the plates of chicken shawarma & kabob, and falafel sandwich. Keep in mind, this was at their closing time. They close at 4 on Sunday. The food lacked flavor and the meat was a bit dry. Hummus was fresh and tasted good. The pita was thin and pretty fresh. This place seems much more authentic than most but we were not a fan of the food. We ended up buying a pack of whole wheat pita breads. It seems like a family business and the staff was nice. The place was fairly clean and tidy.

Roughly 9 years ago I came to this spot to get some shawarma. Back then I gave a 4 star review assuming something could go amiss. Needless to say after all these years this place does NOT disappoint. I had a lovely shawarma plate and watched about a dozen people of all races, genders, creeds etc order their food without one look of disappointment. This place is a staple of the Atlanta proper community and wish it never changes and serves the community to its best. Love this place.

Authentic, fresh & delicious. Perfect way to describe Mediterranean Bakery & Sandwich. I stepped in with no expectation and left feeling fulfilled! I started out with the chicken kabob platter, which included two side's additional from the rice and slaw that the meal is served with. I opted for the taboi salad and fries. I also ordered the lemon mint carbonated and peach drink. I truly enjoyed the lemon mint, so refreshing I had to purchase some to take home. Additionally, the restaurant ambiance took me away with its authenticity that matched the friendly customer service. I'm glad I found this local gem! If you're in the Chamblee area, definitely give this place a try!

Enjoyed authentic Mediterranean food! It was my first time coming in person, but I knew it'd be good because I've had it at a catered event. The atmosphere makes you feel at home, as a lot of natives frequent the establishment AND half is a grocery store where people shoo for household staples. The cashier is where you both check out your groceries and order food. The service was fast and friendly! I got the chicken shawarma plate, which came with two sides. I got it with falafel and a Greek salad as my sides (~$15). I also got a spinach and feta pie (~$2). The plate came with a garlic sauce that rivals any other I've tasted. Everything I ordered was flavorful and delicious!! Will absolutely be back.

    Uncooked

I had high expectations for this place, but the falafel was uncooked and the shawarma was not good.

Mediterranean Bakery is good restaurant and "grocery store". Lots of goodies here. Today only used the restaurant part. You order at the counter and they give you a number to pick up your food. Reasonable menu of Mediterranean food. My order was the beef shawarma plate. It comes with choice of 2 sides, my choices were tabbouleh salad and humus as recommended by the counter staff. It was really good. There is indoor and outdoor seating, and since it was a nice day choose to sit outside. Prices seem high here ~$17 with tax, and that was before a drink and tip. Brisk efficient business. Conveniently located near spaghetti junction with lots of free parking in large shopping area.

Went to this location for the first time today. Ordered the Beef Shawarma sandwich and grabbed a bag of Bruschette chips. Both were delicious and the customer service was awesome

I enjoy the food from this establishment. I am from Michigan where they have a very heavy Mediterranean population in Detroit area. I haven't found a lot of that here but this place does do something for me. You will come in and it'll be the left hand side of it is a market. You can buy all so some things, they even have a section for hookah. And that's a vast hookah selection. On the right hand side you'll have the area where they have the carry out restaurant. There's a full station to where you can order food from and they have it on the heater so you can see a shaved right in front of you. The chicken shawarma in the chicken kabob sandwiches are really good. If you order the plate you can get the meat with two sides. I've had the French fries, but I feel like french fries are pretty much standard. I also had the hummus. The hummus was really good! They give you some pita bread to dip it in and it is actually great. It's usually not that busy , in the parking lot is in a mini mart or strip mall so there's plenty of parking. The only reason not in gave it five stars was because the last time I went I basically still there and nobody really greeted me. I'm big on customer service. I'm here to spend money. So I shouldn't have to stand there and wait if you to acknowledge me. But after we got going, it was a good experience.

    Chicken Shawarma Sandwich/Wrap and Fries.
    Hax A.

Only reason why I didn't give it 5 stars was because the chicken was just a tad bit dry and the fries weren't seasoned but I have been searching high and low for some AUTHENTIC chicken shawarma. Everything about their shawarma wrap/sandwich is delicious. Even the pickles are authentic and not just vlasic pickles thrown on there. I bit into a piece of heaven and Dubai memories. YUM! I will definitely be back! I ordered: Chicken Shawarma Sandwich, add hummus and hot sauce (just say make it spicy) and fries.

But it wasn't like that at all. I had never been before, even though I've passed it so many times. I finally decided, "Let me just try it." The cashier was really nice and explained how everything worked. I asked her what her favorite salad was, but instead of going with her recommendation, I trusted my instincts and built mine based on the ingredients that stood out to me. I ordered the Polynesian chili mango salad with mint and added grilled shrimp. I wasn't a huge fan of the shrimp, but the salad itself was so good that I still ate the whole thing. The flavors were layered and intentional. Not generic, not bland. I love when salads don't taste like an afterthought. What really impressed me was the hot sauce bar. That blew me. They had multiple hot sauces, and as someone who's basically a hot sauce connoisseur, I appreciate that because different hot sauces pair better with different foods. That detail alone elevated the experience. The space was big, clean, bright, and full of color. It felt fresh. Overall, I was genuinely impressed. I definitely want to go back and try the other salads.

I booked a tea party lunch session on the weekend with my friend, and we both had a wonderful experience. They also accommodate a vegan menu for tea party bookings. Our names were printed on the menu, which was a very nice touch. There is a large collection of teas to choose from, along with a detailed menu. They let you smell the teas from a tea tray, which helps a lot when choosing the one you like. The staff explained each tea and recommended flavors based on our personal tastes. They also introduced and explained the sweet and savory items on the menu. We had panda tea and hibiscus tea. The sweet and savory tea party lunch set was delicious and represented Indonesian desserts well. We enjoyed the savory items more than the sweet ones, but we loved the great variety of desserts. We especially loved the presentation. Everything came together to create a lovely experience and a wonderful girls' hangout time. The place is quaint and cute. The staff is super friendly and attentive. Her posture while pouring tea was very elegant. It happened that the weekend we chose was right before Valentine's weekend, so the restaurant was not too crowded, which was a plus for us. However, their lunch party sessions are normally fully booked and busy, especially on weekends. You should definitely call and book ahead if you want to experience this lunch tea party. 12/10 highly recommend this experience, especially for girls' dates. I will come back to try other à la carte items from the menu.

We tried the: - Es Cendol (coconut milk, palm sugar, pandan rice flour jelly): The more I drank this, the more it grew on me- a little reminiscent of brown sugar boba. We added jackfruit, but I don't think that's needed. - Bubur Campur (black sticky rice, pandan custard, sweet potato & taro ball, tapioca jelly, side coconut milk): I liked all the toppings, but the texture of the rice wasn't really my vibe. Glad I tried this, but probably wouldn't get again. - Kaya Toast: This was my surprise favorite, loved the kaya ('coconut') jam, which was on the sweeter side with notes of caramel. The bread was perfectly toasted, and the slabs of butter were complementary. Persimmon is also my favorite fruit, so points given for that haha. I may or may not have gone to my local Asian grocery store to purchase kaya jam the next day. Service was friendly and fast. The only thing I'll mention is that some of the larger tables had tea sets but nothing indicating that sitting there wasn't allowed (later we learned they have afternoon high tea most days). The shop is relatively small and was packed when we went on a Saturday night so not having 3 large tables available was a bit inconvenient. I'd maybe suggest setting up before/after hours, rather than when other paying customers could be using the space. Regardless, this was a unique experience, 8.5/10 would recommend!
