It's a tidy, no frills lunch with counter service that would fit into the movie "Moonstruck." Often, I browse the grocery section and occasional find some uniquely ethnic tea or chips or canned thingy that I try. Also, they have a selection of prepared foods and Greek products to take out in a cooler. Today, I had the Kafta plate. The sides were fairly unremarkable but the Kafta was amazing. It's a grocery store/ bakery. They have a wide variety of pastries, sides (grape leaves) , fresh sauces/dips (hummus, tahini, garlic ) to shop from. Parking is convenient. We ended up getting the plates of chicken shawarma & kabob, and falafel sandwich. Keep in mind, this was at their closing time. They close at 4 on Sunday. The food lacked flavor and the meat was a bit dry. Hummus was fresh and tasted good. The pita was thin and pretty fresh. This place seems much more authentic than most but we were not a fan of the food. We ended up buying a pack of whole wheat pita breads. It seems like a family business and the staff was nice. Roughly 9 years ago I came to this spot to get some shawarma. Back then I gave a 4 star review assuming something could go amiss. Needless to say after all these years this place does NOT disappoint. I had a lovely shawarma plate and watched about a dozen people of all races, genders, creeds etc order their food without one look of disappointment. The atmosphere makes you feel at home, as a lot of natives frequent the establishment AND half is a grocery store where people shoo for household staples. I find their service personable and efficient. The ambiance lends to the authenticity of the food. They also have groceries from the region that you won't find in your local grocer. I go straight to the cold section in the back and grab the garlic butter (divinely creamy, light and garlicky), a package of tiny spinach pies, a loaf of pitas, and ask for a container of their lemony fantastic tabouli. The baklava is small, good flavor, $2. Kibbeh was the smallest I have ever seen, the size of a walnut, nice recipe, way overpriced. Spinach pie was a warm heaven with a bit too much vinegar in the recipe but very reasonably priced. The falafel sandwich was full awful and $8. The falafel were not hot, not fresh out of a fryer, not even (gasp) microwaved. It was like a wrap with some flavored chickpea paste inserted. It was difficult to eat. It could have been so much more if it had been prepared better. The shawarma is not sliced to order, comes out of a steam table. I won't return. Too many other options close by. The temperature of the falafel was in the danger zone for food. Also be aware this grocery does not get health department inspections like a restaurant. I enjoy the food from this establishment. I am from Michigan where they have a very heavy Mediterranean population in Detroit area. I haven't found a lot of that here but this place does do something for me. You will come in and it'll be the left hand side of it is a market. You can buy all so some things, they even have a section for hookah. And that's a vast hookah selection. On the right hand side you'll have the area where they have the carry out restaurant. There's a full station to where you can order food from and they have it on the heater so you can see a shaved right in front of you. The chicken shawarma in the chicken kabob sandwiches are really good. If you order the plate you can get the meat with two sides. I've had the French fries, but I feel like french fries are pretty much standard. I also had the hummus. The hummus was really good! They give you some pita bread to dip it in and it is actually great. It's usually not that busy , in the parking lot is in a mini mart or strip mall so there's plenty of parking. The only reason not in gave it five stars was because the last time I went I basically still there and nobody really greeted me. I'm big on customer service. I'm here to spend money. So I shouldn't have to stand there and wait if you to acknowledge me. But after we got going, it was a good experience. read more

October 19th Dirty. They are very dirty!! The grill guy dropped cooking utensils on the floor and stepped on it with his shoe cause he wasn't paying attention. Floor was nasty dirty! We have lived nearby for over 15 years and this place is a regular on our list of take-out dinner places for us, almost weekly. The food here is definitely authentic, always fresh and consistently tastes yummy. Their chicken is my favorite. Nice choice of menu items and service is pretty fast. It is a tiny bit pricey but we think it is worth it because the food is good, nice portions, the place is really clean and it is a reliably good meal. Definitely a place to visit. I'm giving only 2 stars today, because the service was horrible, but the food was good. I've been here several times since I've moved here. The lady that is usually at the front counter welcomed me from my first visit and has always greeted me with a smile and friendliness. Someone new was at the counter today and she was very rude. My first clue should have been when I approached the counter. She didn't speak, so I told her we'd like to place orders to dine in. She immediately said "to go." I corrected her and we began placing our orders. She walked away from me mid-order to speak with one of the cooks. I tried to dismiss this to possible language barriers... but smiles, friendliness, and warm welcomes are universal. Anyway we received our meals and noticed that everyone else that entered was greeted with a smile. I try not to play the race card but that's the only notable difference between me and my parents, and everyone else that came in. Sometimes I say that a person could be having a bad or "off" day... but then if that were the case, everyone would have been treated poorly, right? Honestly? I came for the coffee. Not a lot of places have Turkish coffee these days. Plus, you can buy the packaged grounds to take home and brew. That said, I like their menu and love how they're using an apparent pizza oven for fresh flatbread offerings. Highly seasoned with lots of spices and generous with the lemon. Love the little dining room where you window shop the grocery store section, especially the sweets and spices. Clearly a lot of regulars and community catering as huge orders roll out every weekend accompanied by a smattering of gossip, goodwill and fond familiarity. Only drawback is the language. For years and years, we went here regularly and sent friends here and brought friends here but lately it has really become continuously lame in that nobody is really overseeing the quality of the cooking of the food. The chicken Shawarma has become dry all the time and now even the Chicken kebabs which we could always count on being juicy are coming out tough and dry. This is absolutely the most authentic Lebanese and Mediterranean food you will get in Atlanta and probably GA. Forget about places that are overpriced like Aziza and other places that claim to be authentic, but arent.
