He told me he'd call in a courtesy refill to last me until my next appointment in June. I noticed nothing was called into my pharmacy the following day and called to follow up. He told me he wouldn't call in a refill, because I need an appointment and labs first. No in-person appointments are available until June, but he had already made an appointment for me in June. Further, my lab appointment was scheduled for Monday, but I will cancel that because I have not taken my medicine in 3 days, so I don't think my labs will be reliable. I have no idea what this receptionist's background is, but he does not have good judgement and is also not familiar with what it feels like to have hormone fluctuations. I asked him if it's safe to stop the medicine I ran out of cold turkey, but he made no attempt to answer my question with the help of a knowledgeable nurse or medical assistant. As a former medical professional with experience dealing with doctors and their staff for decades, I have never dealt with office staff like this. I believe people like him will continue to be one of the reasons Dr. Hutton loses customers. I will not return to a practice that treats its patients with total disregard. I've seen Dr Jih for many years and her nursing staff and she are lovely. She is kind patient and…read moreattentive. That said her front office staff is not particularly accommodating and downright rude. I have always paid using a credit card and not been charged a surcharge and today I was told there was a 30% surcharge on my visit if I paid with a credit card. When I asked if I could run home and get another credit card or pay over the phone, the staff was very rude about it and said no. I finally asked to speak to either Dr. Jih or management and the receptionist called and spoke to the office manager, I was given the accommodation I had requested, which was to call with my card as soon as I got home. No one bothered to mention this fee when I arrived, and no one also mentioned that they take Apple Pay, which I do have and for which they don't charge surcharge . I will continue to come and see Dr. Jih but I suggest management talks to the front desk people because how they behaved was really unnecessarily rude, and poor customer service. At no point was there any let me see what we can do about this to help you. Especially since I have seen Dr. Jih for over 15 years and never had a problem before.
