This needs immediate review. This is the Shopper's World location. The provider Parise Street is a liability to MedStar. PATIENTS BEWARE: do not see her. (And read the many negative reviews about her online). After waiting four hours, a provider entered my exam room with no name badge and did not introduce herself. She was dress in scrubs, a mask and a surgical hat. I had no idea who was treating me. From the moment she walked in, her tone was rude, dismissive, and confrontational. She refused to listen to my medical history, talked over me, and repeatedly ignored what I was saying. I explained what has consistently worked for me in prior physician-treated cases for my sore throat and sinus infection, and she shut it down without consideration while pushing over the counter medications I clearly told her multiple times I already had at home. When I said again that I already had those medications, she snapped (with venom): "THEN USE THEM." Given her unprofessionalism, I asked if she was a doctor, she responded with rage: "IT DOESN'T MATTER," and only later admitted she was a PA. Patients have a right to know who is treating them. The lack of transparency was unacceptable. I got off the exam table, grabbed my jacket and purse and started heading towards the door. She stepped closely to me and cut me off before I could reach it. She opened the door and her behavior escalated further: loudly claiming I was "making her uncomfortable" in front of staff--after speaking to me with clear hostility behind closed doors. Her demeanor completely changed the moment there were witnesses. She spoke in a soft voice and lied in front of her now audience. It was both shocking and worrisome. I watched a medical professional lie. I have never been treated with this level of disrespect and unprofessionalism in a medical setting. This was not a difference of medical opinion--this was inappropriate, hostile conduct toward a patient. This interaction should be taken seriously and addressed at a supervisory level. read more

I had an appointment at 1:20 and still didn't get seen until 3pm for the doctor to conduct a bare minimum review of symptoms and resolution.

I am really big on customer service so let me just say that first. I am in the office now. First off why are the chairs facing away from the staff and the door might as well put us off in a different room this is the most antisocial setup I've ever seen (anyway thats not even my real issue) I scheduled my appointment online (that's probably the best part of this review) my appointment time was at 1:40 I came in at 1:25 just because it's my first time here and I wanted to get all my paperwork out the way. I walked in no one was at the front desk so I just checked in with the tablet at the front and sat down. When the front desk finally did come no one called me up to even check if I was really who I say I am (that's odd). I got called back by the triage medical assistant and she's rude as h3ll she called my name didn't hold the door sped walked to the room. In my paper work it says I have high blood pressure she took my pressure of course it's high (if you read my info you would know that) she blew her breath and took my pressure again. She was more worried about the football game that was on than anything else. She had an attitude the entire time as if I asked her to personally come to work on a Sunday if I wasn't in pain I would have walked out! Got a room 2 hours after my appointment time. I have been to MedStar Urgent Care Waldorf twice this year and had visits last year. In my opinion it is a 5-star facility that gives 5-star service from a 5-star staff. Easy to make an online appointment. Had an appointment at 11:30am this morning, and it is now 1:30pm and I am still waiting in the lobby for the doctor. I am sure you can figure out... I was Called to wait in a room to see the doc at 1:32, doc showed up at 2:11pm, walked out at 2:27 pm. Total hrs 3. Expect to wait 3hrs to be seen, and they were not busy, about 3-4 patients in the waiting room. I think they need to be more efficient after all this is not the ER. The PA was professional. Office was clean, just be prepared to loose 3-4hrs of your time waiting for a 15min service. read more

Paid 275 just be told the doctor isn't comfortable helping me with my bacterial infection which ended up welling my whole face. They wanted to go to the ER...when I told the ER what they said they were in DISBELIEF, that an urgent care denied any antibiotics to help. Avoid coming here on top of the rudeness. The rude receptionist did not give their name, but they had green contacts. They could have called me to confirm that current provider does not refill my type of prescription. However, other MedStar locations have refilled it for emergency purposes. I will never go to the Waldorf location again. It was a waste of time and gas. read more

BEWARE - they do not have actual doctors at this location just physician assistants with shitty attitudes. I saw PA Parise Street today. I explained I was having chest pain and my doctor who is also with MedStar had done an EKG last week that was normal. Despite this they did another EKG because they said they couldn't access the results of the prior one, WTH? After waiting over an hour and a half PA Street tells me I should go to the ER if my symptoms concern me but she can't do anything for me. What a waste of time! Why not tell me that BEFORE making me wait all that time? When I asked for a doctor she tells me there is no doctor on-site but how educated she is and how she works without supervision. There isn't anything urgent or prompt about this urgent care. Trash! If you need a COVID test, don't come here! I scheduled an appointment on Saturday Nov. 14 for Tuesday Nov. 17 at 8:15 am. Red flag#1- I Got here at 8:03 am with no instructions in my confirmation email or at the door. I then waited in line until 8:18 to sign in at a kiosk and fill out paperwork. Not sure why everyone was in a line or cramped in a waiting room in the middle of a pandemic. Red flag#2- the receptionist tells me, "we'll text you when it's your turn". After a 15 minute wait, I ask what's going on and she tells me that I should've arrived 10-15 minutes earlier in order to be seen on time. I reminded her that I was waiting on a line and she fell silent. I'm also not sure how it wasn't my turn when I checked in if that was my appointment time. Received a text at 8:50 am saying " PLEASE RETURN". Red flag#3- The nurse was friendly but slow as ever taking vitals for my mom and I. She left to get the swab and in the hall, she took a personal call to discuss an online Christmas shopping list with someone over the phone. She stood outside of my room on the call for at least 5 minutes. Congrats to her daughter who is getting a dream house and other cute toys this holiday season. Red Flag#4- We're swabbed and waiting on the doctor to come in. After 15 minutes and my mom and I expressing urgency to start our work day, I asked if we can leave because we're literally late for work. The Christmas list chick says..." your results will be thrown out if you do". I, of course, am pissed and I return to the room to wait another 5 minutes for someone to come in. Red flag#5- doctor arrives, reads the script and then says she wants to check our breathing. She insisted on writing a doctor's note and getting some information for us. The time is now 9:43 am. Red flag# 6- I hate that I had so much time to write this while waiting in the room. Smh. We did not get out until 9:55 Today's Conclusion: If this is how things are during a Pandemic where patients have an understood angst, i guarantee things were worse before. If patient payment and history information is already in the database @ Medstar Health then it does not need to be duplicated at Urgent care centers. This is a poor way to manage patient information and results in a less than seamless experience while adding to the patient burden when seeking your services. Medstar patient information should be available across the system without the patient having to supply the same information again and again. No walkins allowed currently, appointment only for Covid vaccination and sometimes misleading information regarding rapid Covid testing all weigh in favor of seeking other options for our urgent medical care. Medstar is not recommended. Update Your patient care is a joke as is your little canned response. Filled out your feedback form and it will get the same treatment. Visited on 6/16/2023, Ashley at the front desk was the most rudest person I have encountered to be receiving patients not feeling well at a front desk. After being called back the rudeness continued from the medical assistant. Just plain rude. I see all of the reviews from others who have complained about the same thing. I would give this location at least a minus 5 if allowed. I prefer that Medstar not to respond with the I'm sorry response. I know that you see all of these negative reviews and you change nothing. There were people simply asking for the TV to be turned on who were faced with rudeness from the staff. Please don't respond to this Medstar I feel your responses are not solving anything. Went to this location back in June for coughing and was sitting in the exam room for at least 30 minutes, that's after waiting 25 minutes after my appointment time in the waiting room! To top it off, after no improvement with my condition I followed up with my primary who said the PA's diagnoses and prescriptions were ALL wrong!! If you're open until 8pm, then you should take patients until 8pm. You should take patients up until the time you close. You're advertised as being open till 8 o'clock. How is someone supposed to know how many people that you have waiting in there and whether or not they can be seen. That's crap. You should be able to be seen up until the time of closing. I was charged $522 before insurance for a Td Vaccination booster shot and a prescription for antibiotics that I had to wait 1.0hrs at this Urgent Care to get. This place is a joke and is honestly what is wrong with America's health care system. To make matters worse I had a allergic reaction for 3-4 days after my visit to this place where my throat was swelling up each time. The allergic reaction onset was immediately the same day as my visit, and I work from home...easy to narrow down the culprit change. I called this place asking what should I do, I explained my throat was closing up, and I asked why I wasn't given any paperwork that might explain side effects or info on which tetanus booster shot they gave me. There are 4 different combo shots (2 for adults) meant to prevent Tetanus....but I doubt the staff knew that. By the way the only paperwork they gave me just mention the antibiotics they prescribed....no listed side effects and no proof I was given a tetanus booster shot (finally listed clearly on the bill they sent 4 weeks later at least). At the time I thought it was a rare side effect to the Td shot. All I was told over the phone by their staff was to go to a hospital (surprised they didn't endorse the Medstar ER) and it wasn't their problem. No explanation of possible side effects and not a care in their words over the phone to my plight. Turns out I am allergic to the antibiotics they prescribed (amoxicillin). No paperwork given on the visit discharge of possible amoxicillin side effects. Good thing I can google at least to find out that information. Felt fine when not taking amoxicillin and the reactions stopped when I stopped taking it. No paperwork (for Tetanus shot or the antibiotics), almost died due to their poor practices, and now they want to charge me a ridiculous fee on top of this. This place deserves 0 stars. Think twice if your looking for just getting a booster shot from this urgent care. read more

I came in today at 5:30 p.m I noticed they were pretty busy I decided to stay they asked me the reason for my visit i told them I came in because I was feeling dizzy and kept vomiting. They made me wait until 7:15 p.m called me to the back just to tell me they can't treat me I should have gone to the Emergency room for that. I told them they should have told me that when they asked me the reason for my visit almost 2 hours ago. The staff including the doctor was more interested in going home. Since they closed at 8. I would not recommend going here. They have the worst service ever. I had a nurse practitioner which was a waste on time., I had been coughing almost two week . So the only suggestion from her was to continue to take the over the counter cough med that is not working. The over counter med say only to take for 7 days after that contact your doctor. I couldn't get and appointment from my primary doctor. So I when to urgent care. The worst fucking decision. I don't understand the purpose of urgent care. They don't do shit. Especially this one. I'm writing this review as I'm leaving this disappointment of a Medstar facility. I experienced a fall the day prior and I'm currently in a lot of pain in my left foot and right knee. Now I must say I'm a person with a high tolerance of pain but After a few Tylenol and a painful sleepless night I decided, with this amount of pain I should be seen by a doctor to rule out fractures. So now, for the experience....Triage was pleasant and professional. They took the time to notice that it I was in a lot of pain walking and insisted on placing me in a wheelchair. I was wheeled to a room where I waited... patiently as I was informed 5 ppl were ahead of me. The wait was long however I understood, so I'm not so concerned about that. What I am concerned about is the lack of bedside manner and professionalism of this team. After approximately an hour wait comes in NP Long. She did her "assessment" of my injuries and ordered X-rays , no problem this was to be expected but that was the last I saw of NP Long. I waited a short while to be called for X-rays when "Mister Man" come to escort me for X-rays. "Mr. Man", is what I named him because never did he identify himself by name, title, or nothing but his underwhelmed mannerisms of not wanting to be at work today or having any interest in the medical field was off putting and really made me feel uncomfortable. As I was "escorted" to the X-ray room this man walked ahead of me as I limped in pain without offering any assistance to the room. Clearly I'm in pain, without asking O should have been wheeled to the X-ray room, just in case. When I tell you this man expressed 0, zero, zilch of bedside manner.... After the series of X-rays he muffled your done. I painfully rotAted myself from the table and proceeded to limp my way back to my room. "Do you remember the room you were in?" He asked, as if her gave a damn! No I didn't but at that point. I didn't want this dude near me. I limped my way around and found the room, sat down in a chair I'm uncomfortable and tired in pain when a few moments later, who returns!? X-ray tech, Nurse, PA, MA, I don't know who, returns. it's Mr. Man again. He muffled, "did she talk to you about your findings?" I replied to him, No, she had not. He proceeds to mumble the findings of no fractures with a soft shoe and ace bandage in his hands. How about explain to me why I'm in so much freaking pain, how best to heal, etc...Nope! none of that. I was given an insurance slip for the boot to sign and a discharge packet. So I guess I'll go home and doctor myself with Dr. Google. I'm so dissatisfied and disappointed with this Medstar... I should of went somewhere else but trying to support and stay loyal to Medstar where I've received care from for many years. I will NEVER AGAIN come to this urgent care!! I would give them negative 5 stars if i could. This is the most incompetent, rude and unprofessional medical office i have ever been to. I went for a simple pre op urine test and after being there a hour and being told i was done and could leave they never processed my test. These fools even gave me a number i could use to check my results before i left and they never processed them. When i went back it only got worse. Checked in online for a 10:50 am spot for my son to be seen, arrived here at 10:45 am (5 minutes early), didn't see The Nurse until 12:10pm WTF???!!! What is the point of online check in if you still have to wait as long if not longer than a walkin it's ridiculous!!!! I visited this urgent care a week ago and I regret it every day! $50 copay, 2 hour wait on a Monday evening (I even pre checked in for my time of arrival HOURS ahead of time), and I walked out with minimal information and a crappy prescription. I've had a miserable cough for weeks, and when I went in I was told it's "JUST post nasal drip" and that I've "pretty much done everything I can do for it so just let it run its course." I was given a prescription for a crappy cough syrup that did NOTHING and ended up being at the facility for 3 hours. The next day I was displaying a new symptom and was concerned if it was a side effect of the useless cough syrup, so I called Promptcare and was disconnected FOUR TIMES and was told that I should be calling my primary care provider. Well, I was under YOUR care and I DON'T have a primary care provider to call! God forbid I call a medical practice and ask if I should be concerned about a new symptom! Today, I went in to a different urgent care facility that actually cared about my well being and tested me for strep and did an X-ray for pneumonia, just in case. Turns out I have quite the case of bronchitis and I finally got an antibiotic to prevent strep/ear infection/pneumonia and a decent cough medication (that's NOT a nasty syrup) so I can finally kick this crap out of me. After being relatively loyal to the medstar network across DC for about 6 years now, I will NEVER recommend this Promptcare to anyone. read more

Went here on 12/28 after being sick x 5 days. Waiting room was empty because patients were required to sign in and have a seat in their car due to Covid restrictions. Front desk staff had 4 people managing it. I was asking all the questions...no greeting towards me other than stares and looking me up and down. I proceeded to ask them if I can do a walk in, is my insurance accepted, wait times etc... lady at desk proceeds to tell me (in a condescending tone) that there is a 5 hour wait. So I say okay...I will go home and wait for you to call me and she said no..u need to wait in the parking lot until you are called. She was very condescending and unprofessional. I said no im not waiting in nobody's parking lot with no restroom facilities to be able to use for 5 hours. I said why can't they call me as I live 10 mins away? She said we only allow a 5 mins grace period between appts and I said...so u won't give patients a 15 min grace period to get back to the office but you allow us to be in the parking lot for 5 hours waiting? She then proceeded to ask me...why are you here anyway?...and in front of everyone at the desk. I just looked at her and said...I will complete that information on the patient forms not in front of everyone in the office. At that point I was just frustrated and I just said never mind and left. I went elsewhere and got immediate care. I will never go here again nor recommend them based on how unprofessional the front desk staff was. read more

I decide to check in on line anyway because l have been seen at the Medstar in Capital Hill. This Medstar in Waldorf is wonderful, l was seen in a timely manner, the staff were very professional, they have TV"s in the patient rooms, cable with remote control, they gave me a blanket, l turned the lights down and was very comfortable. I am in here right now and this place leaves a lot to be desired. A) the receptionist here today, Sherod (sp?) is rude. Downright unpleasant. B) they have one doctor the day after Christmas. Knowing full well that people get sick at /around/after Christmas and that most standard doctors offices would be closed today. C) there is no order in which they are seeing patients. I've seen multiple people with colds come in and be seen and walk out before a 91 year old in a wheel chair with respiratory problems. You are given paperwork to complete when you come in, and they will not add you to the sign in list until you complete your paperwork. So the 90 year old who is with her 60 year old child comes in and has to wait longer because it takes them longer to complete their paper work than the 30 year old who has a bad cough. The triage medical assistant, was pleasant and professional so that is what got this facility it's sole star. We have now been sitting in the exam room for 35 minutes. But their are tvs mounted to the walls in each exam room for you to watch direct tv. They also offer you bottled water. I would encourage medstar prompt care to focus on customer service training and proper staffing levels rather than cable tv and bottled water. read more

I usually use Medstar PromptCare urgent care as my primary care due to my work hours being inflexible. However, I will not be returning. The doctor I received today was slow ( I waited for 2 hours with 2 people ahead of me), rude, her white coat was filthy (eww), and made me feel completely uncomfortable. I've been sick for 2 weeks and this was my second visit I understand doctors orders but my throat is literally swollen and all she told me was the drink fluids and take off from work tomorrow. Okay I respect your advice and I'll take it because I paid for it but what was the last straw for me was her rolling her eyes and being rude about me asking questions as if this wasn't my body we were discussing. It's too many urgent cares in close proximity for me to tolerate someone being rude while I feel sick. If I go to another urgent care tomorrow and get different results, I will be calling my insurance company. read more

I really like the convenience of checking in online. It made for faster service. The use of the tablet for paperwork was made check-in faster. What I was really disappointed in was how long it took to be seen. Though I am not sure how many people were in the back, when we arrived there was only one other person in the waiting room.
