Our 2-year-old Norfolk Terrier, Ralphie, underwent liver shunt surgery. Two days after surgery, he developed tremors that quickly progressed into focal seizures. Our local emergency center veterinarians couldn't provide the level of care Ralphie desperately needed, so we made the frantic drive from Lubbock to MedVet in Dallas. We arrived at 1:30 a.m. on a Friday morning, and the emergency team was waiting for us. They immediately took Ralphie back and began treating him. The doctors kept us updated every day, although the prognosis was very grim. Stopping his seizures proved to be more difficult than anyone expected. Dr. Williams eventually called with heartbreaking news--we were faced with the decision of placing Ralphie on a ventilator if we wanted to give him any chance of survival. Even with the poor prognosis, we didn't hesitate. Ralphie is family. Despite being on seven different sedative and anti-seizure medications, he continued to have breakthrough seizures. Three days into his hospitalization, Dr. O'Connor, the critical care specialist, took over Ralphie's case. She is brilliant and truly became our saving grace. She is an optimistic while also being honest about how critical his condition was. She carefully adjusted his medications, and for the first time, his seizures finally began to come under control. Ralphie also received exceptional one-on-one care from his nurses, Esmeralda on the day shift and Micah on the evening shift. Unfortunately, we never had the opportunity to meet Micah in person, but she went out of her way to keep us informed. She even called us at 11:00 p.m. to let us know Ralphie had finally been extubated. That phone call meant the world to us. Esmeralda took extraordinary care of Ralphie. We visited him every day and received updates from both Dr. O'Connor and Esmeralda. They were compassionate, professional, and genuinely caring. Esmeralda would talk to Ralphie and gently brush him, even while he was in a coma. Those small acts of kindness spoke volumes about the type of person and nurse she is. Dr. O'Connor never gave up on Ralphie. She was determined to try every possible option to save him, and we trusted her completely. Every suggestion she made, we agreed to because we knew she was fighting just as hard for him as we were. She believed in him, and so did we. After seven days at MedVet, Ralphie came home with us. We know that without the incredible doctors, nurses, and staff, he likely would not be here today. We hope we never have another emergency like this, but if we do, there is nowhere else we would trust with Ralphie's life. Dr. Abigail Sturbaum is an Angel. During our two visits, she was caring, compassionate, thorough, and did absolutely everything she possibly could to save Donny - our fur baby - leaving no stone unturned. She clearly takes a pro-active approach and advocates for all her clients. We were referred to MedVet by Dr. Kevin Donnelly due to an infected tooth root abscess that was affecting Donny's right eye. Dr. Sturbaum and the tech were in the room to address any questions and concerns and he was immediately able to be taken for a ct scan to determine what, if anything, was wrong. He had to be dropped off for those few hours and picked up before the end of the day. Dr. Sturbaum was in constant contact with me regarding Donny. I promptly received a phone call with all her updates and findings. His biopsy came back as nasal adenocarcinoma less than a week later. Dr. Sturbaum called me with those results as well and said since MEDVET does not have a radiation oncology unit at their facility, that Donny would be transferred to VCA Dallas Specialty Hospital. She immediately informed them of Donny and less than a week later, we were already scheduled for an appointment. The nasal adenocarcinoma turned out to be localized and Donny received SRT for three days in March at VCA Dallas. He was doing so well with his radiation treatments until he suddenly and unexpectedly declined the morning of May 1, 2026. He couldn't walk very well. He was not interested in eating. He had IMTP and a ct scan showed little tumors in his abdomen, spleen, and perforations in his colon, an indication that the cancer had metastasized throughout his body. We made the extremely difficult decision to end Donny's suffering by giving him one final send off over the Rainbow Bridge late Friday night on May 1st, 2026. The staff at VCA Dallas were compassionate, kind, and caring. They let us spend as much time as we needed with Donny after his transition. If it wasn't for Dr. Sturbaum and her speedy referral to VCA Dallas, Donny would not have been in the best possible place at the time he needed urgent medical attention and end-of-life care. We are heartbroken, and the grief comes in waves. Dr. Sturbaum - you are an Angel. Thank God for people like you. Your deepest and heartfelt condolences mean so much to us. We had a 12:00 PM appointment, but when we arrived at the address listed on Google Maps, we discovered it was incorrect because the clinic had not updated their location information. After calling to get the correct address, the front desk informed us that if we didn't arrive within 20 minutes, we would have to reschedule our appointment. Considering the address issue was on their end, this was extremely frustrating. Once we met with the veterinarian, we were quoted prices that were dramatically different from what our primary veterinarian had discussed with us. In addition, they wanted to repeat testing that had already been performed recently by our primary vet. We had been referred specifically for a scope procedure, yet it felt like unnecessary services were being added to the treatment plan. Despite already driving an hour to get there and feeling disappointed by the experience so far, we were still willing to move forward. We simply asked whether they offered a military discount. The assistant took our ID to verify eligibility and returned saying the discount was only available to active-duty military members. This was particularly disappointing given that our dog is a service dog for my husband, who is a 100% disabled veteran. To make matters worse, after all of this, we were charged nearly $300 for a consultation that lasted approximately 12 minutes. When we were quoted the consultation fee, I asked the front desk if I could speak with a manager. After making us wait quite a while, a woman with purple hair, who identified herself as an assistant manager, came out. She seemed uninterested in helping and essentially told us there was nothing she could do. She refused to provide any manager's contact information and instead said that a manager would reach out to me. I explained that the reason I wanted to speak with a manager was to provide feedback about our experience and hopefully find a resolution so we would not leave feeling so disappointed or feel compelled to leave a negative review. Rather than addressing our concerns, she blamed corporate policies for not honoring military veterans and repeatedly stated that she could not help us, could not provide a manager's information, and that we would still need to pay and simply wait to see if a manager called us back. Between the incorrect address, poor communication, drastically different pricing, the refusal to meaningfully address our concerns, and the expensive consultation, this was one of the most disappointing veterinary experiences we've had. After reading other reviews, it unfortunately seems that customer concerns are not taken seriously. What a shameful way to run a business. read more

It has taken me a while to write this review because the entire experience was emotionally draining. I brought my dog, in because there was concern that he may have bone cancer. I was given two options: either come back in 4-6 weeks or move forward with a $6,000 surgery. There was no real explanation or middle ground offered, which left me feeling confused and overwhelmed. If this was bone cancer and had metastasized to his lungs that 4 to 6 week mark, he would've been dead. I asked about doing CT scans first, but I felt heavily pushed away from that option and toward immediately opening my dog up for surgery. After deciding to proceed with the scans, I dropped my dog off only to later find out their CT machine was not working. I had to drive over 20 miles there and back just to pick him up, then return again the next morning to drop him off a second time. After all of that, I waited four days for results after paying nearly $4,000 for the CT scans. When the doctor finally called, she told me my dog did not have cancer, which was an incredible relief. What upset me most, though, was hearing her then say she "wasn't even worried about it." After being pushed toward such an invasive and expensive surgery, that comment made me feel like my vulnerability and fear for my dog were taken advantage of unnecessarily. Thankfully, I had guidance from a vet tech at my regular veterinarian's office who helped point me in the right direction. I am beyond grateful surgery was not needed, but this entire experience left me feeling emotionally exhausted, financially stressed, and deeply disappointed. I do not suggest this place. Dr. Kelly literally saved our 8-year old Frenchie! Our sweet boy was diagnosed with IVDD after he became a quadriplegic overnight. We initially rushed him to an emergency vet in the middle of the night after we took our boy out to potty and realized he couldn't even stand up without falling over. The emergency vet told us it was probably IVDD, and he would likely need an MRI and surgery. Our heads were swimming. Everything happened so quickly. We had never heard of IVDD before this moment, and we felt so overwhelmed. The emergency vet gave us a list of places that do MRI's and surgery, and we started calling all of them. We were amazing how few places actually do both the MRI and surgery. So many places couldn't even get us in for an MRI for weeks. Meanwhile, it was July 3rd on top of everything else, and our boy couldn't stand, eat, drink, or go to the bathroom. We called MedVet, and they told us to bring him in that day. We rushed him up there, and they checked him out. After realizing how bad his situation was, they prioritized him and set him up for an MRI that same day. The diagnosis was IVDD, and he needed neck surgery. We were so devastated, but MedVet walked us through every step and were so kind. They scheduled his surgery for July 4th, which blew us away. We never thought he would be able to get surgery on a holiday. We were so scared for our little man, but everyone at MedVet took such good care of him. His surgery went great, and he spent the next two days recovering at their facility. Dr. Kelly gave us everything we needed for post op care. They checked in with us in the days and weeks post surgery, and you could really tell they were so genuinely concerned about our pup. Dr. Kelly answered all of our questions throughout his follow up visits and did a great job giving us a crash course on IVDD. The exercises and props they suggested for post surgery care really helped him in his recovery. Dr. Kelly and her staff at MedVet are an absolute blessing to our family. They saved our baby, and we will forever be indebted to them. We are so grateful to have been able to access such amazing treatment, and we know it's only thanks to Dr. Kelly and her staff that our boy is back to not only walking, but running! I went to another emergency care who referred me to MedVet Dallas for extensive care for my 13-year-old miniature schnauzer. The other emergency care doctor called first to get a estimate. Also said that I would have to wait once I got there and wait we did... It took me and my pup almost 4 hours to get through a process. I was informed of the Price for the first night of overnight care - I. E., - Fluids making him comfortable and the initial test would be 3K to 4K. That was just for one night. Then the doctor on-call asked me what could I afford? What was within my budget because I was going through all my credit cards trying to figure out the balance and how to pull this off because they can customize things and take things off like the x-ray and ultrasound... That was the very reason I was there. I was already exhausted and by the time we saw the doctor around 3:15 AM I couldn't even think straight. So I ended up telling them the balance I had on one card and saying I could try to figure it out, but I need to do it during business hours, so we will be back. I mean it's already into the new day I figured that going home to sleep and to process, and to move some money around would be the best thing. Then the shadowing Dr. mentioned an outpatient option which included an under the skin IV, some anti-nausea medication (even though my pup wasn't and hasn't vomited) some liver enzyme, pills, and an appetite stimulant. Sounded good to me so I said let's do that. I was so tired. I just tapped my card when it was time to pay and then realized that my bill (with absolutely no x-rays or anything else really) the doctor just looked at the other the other ER notes/bloodwork results and checked his body for lumps? What they did do was check his vitals, in total including the vitals, getting an under the skin IV and other medication's was $1077.54. Now I expected for there to be some inflation especially with medication but I did not expect to pay $637.14 for 10 sAME tablets for my pups liver. There was another medication that I am to give just in case my pup needed a appetite, stimulant - that was for a 30 mg liquid bottle was $93.97. I was charged $166 for the emergency consult then I guess for the vitals I was charged $53 , then for the fluid under the skin IV, I was charged $84 for the anti-nausea medication I was charged $43.43 for another medication. ON TOP OF THIS... the doctor did not discuss with me what medications my pup was taking, nor even look at the side effects. I thought about that so I looked them up and the arthritis medication that was prescribed by his veterinarian has side effects that can damage the liver or cause liver enzymes, loss of appetite... I am LIVID! To be asked what I could afford and to offer me partial treatment that did not include the main reason that I came, was insulting and tacky, but I played along. I am LIVID! To wait almost 4 hours in the middle of the night and pushed back for emergency pet issues over and over again was definitely not the best late night early morning I've ever had but I get it... But I had a referral and hope that would speed things along, but it did not. I am LIVID that they charge me $637.14 for 10 little pills! I looked online and the highest cost I saw was $122 for THIRTY pills for a larger dog (more milligrams). Like I said earlier, I expected some inflation....but $637.14 for TEN pills (less milligrams) is CRIMINAL! They just literally came up with a number inside their heads and made it fit... If I could give MedVet more than five stars I would. My 12 year old Golden seemed off, so I took her to our vet, and after an x-ray, the vet noticed a mass on her spleen which necessitated an emergency splenectomy. I asked her where I should go and she gave me a couple options. I asked her where she would take her dog and she said she would take her to MwdVet. We went straight to MedVet and were checked in promptly. Nurse Gray took me to a room and asked me some preliminary check-in questions. He was so unbelievably calming and patient (especially when I couldn't remember the name of her thyroid medication), which was very helpful because we were in an emotionally heightened situation. The front receptionist noticed I was looking at a business card for a social worker, and they took the initiative to send her into my room. Her name is Marissa Stoll and she was so helpful with ideas on how to help with my young children through the grieving process if the surgery didn't go well. She prepared for me a packet to take home which included a list of children-friendly books for dealing with loss of a pet, the importance of a celebration of life for the pet and even some ideas for keepsakes for the kids. My mother-in-law brought my kids up to the hospital to see our dog and unbeknownst to them say goodbye if the surgery did not go well. Nurse Gray took them back and gave them a tour of the ICU to show where she would be staying before and after her surgery and even showed them her potty/runner area. The tour completely eased my kids minds and anxiety and was instrumental in helping them continue leading normal lives until our dog returned home. Dr. Acevedo called operated on our dog. She called to follow up and see if I had any questions. I never felt rushed, even though she undoubtedly had another surgery to head into. One member on staff (I think her name was Anna) even provided a picture of our dog post-op per my request, so that I could show my kids how great our dog was faring after surgery. During discharge, Alyssa went through all the medications with us and didn't rush through. She took the time to answer any and all questions we had. Our dog spent 2 nights total at MedVet. Staff called and followed up when they said they would throughout this 45 hr period, and I felt such great confidence that she was being truly cared for and looked after. These folks are amazing and I really appreciate them! Almost 2 weeks ago now my little furry friend was REALLY sick. My regular vet was out of town, and they referred me to an urgent care facility. After examining my pup the urgent care facility said what was wrong with him was more than they are equipped to handle and referred me to MedVet. Upon walking in, these folks are some of the kindest and most compassionate people I have met in the animal care industry. Just REALLY good people who care for pets and also care about the pet's people companions. Long story short, my pup needed an emergency life-saving surgery. The surgery was a very high risk procedure that nationally does not have a very high survival rate, both from the surgery and from the recovery. The surgeon here and the aftercare team here beats that national average by about 50%! Those were odds I was willing to take for my little buddy and so I let the MedVet staff do their thing! This story has a happy ending and my dog is now back at home, still recovering, but doing well! Throughout the process of surgery and hospitalization, the staff kept me informed regularly, and they also did not mind me calling (sometimes at all hours of the night) to check on my buddy. Once he was stabilized, they even allowed me to visit him in the hospital. It was a tearful event, but they were happy tears! I highly recommend these folks, as they are amazing! They literally did everything they could to try to save my dog's life and ultimately with their expertise and lots of prayers, they did just that! read more

We lost our precious baby 2 days before Christmas. He'll be fine, they said. He needs the surgery, they said. Poor quality of life if he doesn't get the surgery, they said. I dropped him off around 7:15 in the morning and I kissed him goodbye at 5. I was told his surgeon would talk to me, but she never did. I asked for his records but I never got a complete accounting of what happened. I'm still waiting. I spoke with several people including the anesthesiologist and was promised I would get his records. I picked up his ashes today, and asked for his records again. I'll be lucky if I get a response to this review. Mochi was so precious and loved. Because establishments like this exist, we need to be able to leave zero star reviews. With that being said, Im still working out how to handle this situation, but first comes my review! I came in the other night around midnight with my unfortunately now passed cat. She was diagnosed with FIP a week ago, and was declining quickly in her treatment. She couldn't keep anything down and there were 2 open vets, I wish I skipped the stop. To begin, they do not allow you to come back with your fur baby, so already that's uncomfortable and they proved exactly why. While I was waiting for my baby to be seen, I heard a dog screaming in pain. I overlooked it, until they took my baby back, and it sounded like a cat was undergoing slow murder. It was a cat, and I got scared that it was my baby. My partner then goes up to the counter and asks how many cats were admitted currently. She said mine was the only one. We then demanded for them to bring my baby back, and a guy brings her back in her carrier that smelled of pure death. there was brownish yellow liquid everywhere in it, and her butt was oozing. He claimed she did not like her rectal temperature. Sassy tone might I add. It should be known without even having a degree that you DO NOT force an animal through a rectal temperature if they are resisting due to possible injuries!!!! My cat has never made a noise like that. There is a difference between an animal voicing that they dont like something. They hurt my baby, and I have no clue what happened. We then asked for a manager and got a supervisor to attend us after 20 minutes of waiting. Also very rude and upset that we were petrified. We recorded the whole conversation on my partners phone which makes the situation even more infuriating after they state on a phonecall the next day while we are having to put my baby down with our primary vet, that we were yelling screaming and cursing, making them feel attacked. Anything to be the victim! It wasnt until my partner threatened to take things to court (which is in the works) that the girl at the front desk began taking things seriously. I dont believe this was her fault at all, but this is a company that wants to avoid trouble, and continue giving awful care to peoples babies for extremely high rates. Our total that we did not pay was 190$ and Ill never know if what they did to my baby helped speed up the process of her passing. She passed with a 105 degree temperature and in extreme agitation. As the one year anniversary of my cat's death at the hands of these people is approaching, I want to warn other pet owners about them. When you call they usually answer the phone quickly. If they don't you'll hear a message about how they'll treat your pet like their own, and how they know it's stressful to have an emergency and please don't yell at the staff. When a business says that up front it's because they neither understand nor care. If they cared they'd act like it and they wouldn't have to tell people not to give them hurty fee-fees. In 2020 my cat was diagnosed with IBD. About two months before MedVet let her die I switched her care to them from another specialty clinic in Dallas. I was initially impressed by the facility and the staffing. About two months before her death she'd started losing weight and became almost impossible to feed. At my request, MetVet placed a feeding tube so I could feed her by syringe. With that method she'd started to regain a little weight and I could see the difference. On the Sunday before her death she became profoundly pale and weak. I drove her 2 hours to the nearest Dallas ER. They diagnosed anemia from a bleeding esophageal ulcer and transferred her to MedVet for a transfusion, so I immediately took her there. During that visit they began transfusing immediately. She was admitted and spent Sunday night through Thursday morning there. On Tuesday the doctor sent a picture of her sitting up and looking alert, like her old self, and I really appreciated that update. On Thursday I brought her home and was shocked when she came out of the carrier, because she was thinner than when she was admitted. She was already too thin, and now she was almost emaciated. All her gains since the tube placement were erased, and then some. They spent four full days starving a cat with a feeding tube already placed. I'd called them daily for updates, and if they'd said they didn't have time to feed her I'd gladly have gone back and done it myself. Saturday morning she was scheduled to go to a slightly closer ER for a re-evaluation of her ulcer. I was up early to get her there by 7, before they got busy, but I found her extremely weak again; she had a reddish/tan discoloration on her chin that was either from vomiting, bleeding, or both. The clinic said she needed another transfusion so they arranged the transfer to MedVet. I called them myself with an ETA as I was leaving. When we arrived at 12:30 p.m. I explained again why I was there--bleeding, transfusion, ER transfer--and everyone acted like they knew what I was talking about. They took her back immediately and I waited in one of the exam rooms. Two hours later someone came to ask if I wanted to say good night to her before I went to the hotel, and that they were about to start transfusing her. I wanted to scream: They hadn't even started to transfuse her in *two hours.* I didn't say anything because I didn't want to get thrown out or antagonize the people she needed. So much for that. She coded on the table as I followed the employee into the treatment area. That's assuming they even told me the truth about that part. For all I know she'd already died and they just went through the motions of CPR for show, as I walked in there. Given her history with them and the recurrence of the bleeding, her treatment should have been an *immediate* transfusion, possibly followed by an exploratory laparotomy. Waiting two hours before they got around to transfusing was depraved. Our dog, JenJen, had to have emergency surgery for a herniated disc in her back. They did the surgery the same day we took her in (it was very time sensitive, to prevent permanent paralysis) and she stayed four nights w them. They kept me informed daily on her status and even sent pictures of her! Dr Ostrager and Dr Kelly were very professional and gave me updates on her care daily as well. We really appreciate all who helped JenJen literally get back on her feet! She is improving daily and now doing physical therapy, which MedVet staff helped set up. Also, JenJen had to be taken in about two weeks after surgery for blood stools. Turned out to not be related to surgery, but they treated that well too w probiotics and a bland diet. I would like to know the details regarding the choices that the on site veterinary Dr made and why wasn't Lucy's Oncologist contacted to discuss options. Lucy's timeline: 3/25: Her vet diagnosed her with Lymphoma. 3/27: CBC; Flow cytology sent off 4/3: First consultation with Oncologist at Med Vet. Plan given and pending results of cytology. 4/4: Cytology results received. B-cell size medium, Class II MHC expression High. Impression: The B cells are medium sized and express high levels of class II MHC. A study from our laboratory shows that cases of B cell lymphoma with medium sized cell and high class II MHC have a median overall survival of 330 days from initial diagnosis when treated with a multi-drug protocol. 4/5: My baby was breathing was rattling so we took her to Blue Pearl and they showed that she was stable. We took her to Med Vet they issued her something to help with the swelling. Then just 10 minutes later she was intubated and within an hour I had to make the choice to let her go. I asked the dr if she could get with Lucy's oncologist for her opinion and as my daughter tried to show the dr the results of the Cytology and that should we just let her stay intubated. The dr brushed my daughter off and basically stated that with the way her lymph nodes had swelled up her quality of life once they removed the intubation would not be good until Monday. I even told her we barely gave her the steroid pill 2 hours prior to going to med vet. The dr offered to do the chemo but made it feel like it would not do any good. My baby was breathing so fast because she was hot, she was a corgi with a lot of fur and laid on the bathroom floor to be cooled off and until her temp went up a fan was placed on her. I need answers. My baby was acting normal even eating more since being in steroids. I saw many reviews on your clinic being all about the money. In Lucy's case we had already taken out a loan for her treatment. I read that the Dr that attended to her had a lot of complaints on bed side manner. Does empathy mean anything and they should do what they can as if it were THEIR baby going through this? I would like the detailed information on the drugs she issued my baby to help with the swelling. Lucy was my certified emotional support animal since I suffer from depression and anxiety. My life is torn. And for me to spend $265 on Wed to having my baby put down not even a full 2 days later and spend another $987, does not make sense. Please don't tell me the cancer was just aggressive. Yes, people are not like animals and that cancer is different but from my baby being normal up until Friday when she just needed something to assist the swelling to go down to being put to sleep because I was given NO hope really upsets me. I have had did a lot of research since her being diagnosed and had some hope. I want to share my experience with MAD vet because I might be able to help other dogs. I have a German Sheppard which i can still consider young he was a rescue ,that's why I don't know his exactly age, but according with vets he will be around 8 or 9 . I took my dog there because he was having problems with his leg limping and had a Knuckle. First, I took him to my vet and they asked me to come back for an X Ray a week later because the dog was in pain and anxious so would be better to sedate him prior to the next visit to perform the X Ray. However, after getting home I noticed the knuckle ( which was not there before ) and called back immediately . The doc told me it sounded serious and asked me to rush him to an emergency room and that's how I ended up at this place. I can testify that they are nice people - very nice greeting and talking to me however, not efficient . I would rather go to an efficient place even if the staff is not as nice but competent. They took my puppy to the back while I waited in a little room and when they came back they didn't have good news to give me. They told me my puppy had a neurological condition and he would never be normal again. Furthermore, they told me that he is a big dog and I would have problems to maneuver him around and take care of him , which at the time was true because he was hurting and not walking. He ( THE VET) offered me to transfer my boy to their location in Dallas if i want a a further inspection and exams etc. I was also told that I would have to spend a lot of more money with X Rays , brain scan etc. and all of these procedures would be very costly and at the end the results will be the same and I would have to end up euthanizing my dog anyway. I was so in tears because I was not ready to hear this and I ended up leaving and taking my dog home after hearing all the craziness above. After that experience I booked a Chiropractor in Oklahoma who is an amazing animal and human chiropractor and after one , only one session my boy started to walk. It only took 2 days after the session. He went in on Thursday and start walking on Saturday. He was taken to 5 sessions on my own device and I plan on keep going there just to improve this spine alignment and quality of life at this point, not anymore for necessity because he has recovered extremely fast and Mad Vet was ready to euthanize him. Crazy Right? . My puppy is back to normal and they said he would never be, its healthier than ever and has no neurological problems as I was told and got super upset and stressed out about. I know a lot of dog parents do not know about chiropractors and I hope I can inspire many people to consider that option when your dog is only hurting and/or is considered to be euthanized because walking issues. Also the chiropractor session cost is $45,00 dollars none of this abuse Vet Scam. I am now keeping him on supplements for his bones will keep doing that moving forwarded and want to continue the chiropractic sessions as part of his health care habits however, would I go back to this place? Didn't really do much with my cat's condition, but found it astounding and disgusting as I had a few meetings with my cat being hooked up and making sure he's okay. No one wants to be here, first of all. But if you have to go here with your beloved companion, they will take care of you. Dr. Bobbi McQuown gave the best care that she possibly could to our beloved boy. He was diagnosed with stage 3 cancer and we knew we had a limited time with him. She never talked down to us or made us feel like we could have done something better or differently. It was a horrible situation, and we all knew it. She was calm and sincere throughout. She regularly communicated with our regular vet as well as the radiation clinic so that everyone had the same information. The techs were all very affectionate with him. It is very expensive, but I don't blame them for that. I do recommend that everyone look at pet insurance for just these types of situations. It wouldn't have saved our boy, but it would have saved us a lot of money. Still, he was worth it. read more

My wife has posted the review about what MedVet did to my beloved Daisy. That review was posted last year under the name Ariel. The vet that killed my little girl was Caroline Aldridge. After killing my baby, Caroline Aldridge ran away to Colorado and now she works at Four Seasons Veterinary Specialist located in Loveland, Co. So if you have anyone in that area, kindly beware that this vet Caroline Aldridge is truly incompetent. We did report Caroline Aldridge to the Texas Veterinary Board and they did find that Caroline Aldridge caused the death of my sweet Daisy. I have attached the document from the Texas Veterinary Board in the picture section. I plead to anyone here who have lost your pup or was poorly treated by the vets at MedVet Dallas to file a complaint with the Texas Veterinary Board so that innocent voiceless animals don't continue to suffer and die at MetVet Dallas. From my experience here I would advice people to avoid these 2 vets at MedVet. The first one is Erin Rogers who has very poor bedside manners and is very incompetent. We did not have a good experience of her and someone I know has submitted a complaint about Erin Rogers to Texas Veterinary Board for poorly treating her pet. The next vet is Reagan Vadell. This incompetent vet recorded my pups weight as 16kg instead of 16 lbs and overdosed her medications and antibiotics which caused her to suffer. MedVet is supposed to take care of our vets but instead these people are worse than butchers. They take your money and have zero ethics and compassion. This is a dangerous hospital. Someone below commented she doesn't understand the negative reviews. Well if you read my review you will know why. If the vets do their job properly we don't have to endure this pain and write these painful reviews. I am so afraid of taking my other little girl after what happened to my Daisy. Was told by the Dr. (Gabriella Herrejon) that our dog in their care on Friday evening had received X-rays, and were just waiting on them. Spoke to the nurse/tech looking after her, who confirmed she didn't get the X-ray yet. Hm. Later in the evening, same Dr. had told us she received some general antibiotics via IV. The nurse that was looking after her that shift said they didn't give it to her yet. Hm. When we checked our pet out on Saturday, the tech at the front said we would be receiving around $1,550 of our original $3,000 deposit back as a refund. Our pup took a turn for the worst one weekend and it was time to say goodbye. We took her to Med vet to be evaluated before any decisions were made. We would have gone to our regular vet but it was a Sunday and they weren't open. Upon arrival the Med vet tech came out and met us at our car. They took our pup on a gurney and told us they would keep us updated. We weren't allowed to go inside because of COVID. We got a call with in update within an hour. Unfortunately there was nothing more that could be done for our poor pup. They allowed us into a room where we could sit and say goodbye to our pup. The whole process was so easy. We sat on the floor with our pup curled up in our lap. The doctor even sat down on the floor with us and administered the medication to make our dog comfortable before it was time to go. Everyone at the facility was so incredibly kind. A few people told us they came to sit with our pup while we were gone. I thought that was so nice of them. I can only imagine how scared she was in there alone so having someone come comfort her just made me feel so much better. A few days later we got a sympathy card and imprints of our dogs nose and paws. I absolutely loved this and appreciated this so much. Our own vet has never even done the prints. Now we will forever have prints of our precious girl! I highly recommend taking your pup here for any medical need. They will treat your dog as if it's their own. read more

Long story short - there was no veterinarian urgency in helping our progressively paralyzed dog, period. We were told over and over that they believed our 3 yr. old pup had a bulged disc caused by IVDD. Initially, we understood why they would think this, as I'm sure they see IVDD a lot. Nonetheless, we were skeptical, as we would have known if there were back injuries in our dog. There was no acute event that caused injury, nor a chronic injury in our dog's back prior to his legs becoming paralyzed. We work from home and the dog is with us 24/7. To us, it looked like he was having a neurological episode based on his personality change, his eyes bulging, and his head tilting back--all along with his rear leg paralyzation. When we asked about the possibility of there being a stroke, or something going on in his brain, we were told that that would be discovered in an (EXTREMELY COSTLY) MRI. Ok, great. We would love to see if there's something more there. Well, $6,500 dollars later, after the MRI, we are informed by Dr. Ostrager that they NEVER SCANNED HIS BRAIN IN THE MRI? Seriously? OH! And there was no bulged disc after all. SHOCKER! Then, we pretty much got a whole lot of nothing from the hospital vets, because obviously, they were wrong about everything and had no idea what was wrong with our poor boy. Our dog was left with the vet on a Wednesday to get an MRI first thing Thursday. An MRI was finally done mid-day Thursday. It is now the following TUESDAY, 5-days later, and neither we, nor either of the vets we use in town has received MRI results from MedVet. Needless to say, we had to put our poor angel down over the weekend, as he was continuing to fail and was in so much agony, with no real help from MedVet. We are still awaiting MRI results, we'll see if we ever get them... BEWARE OF THIS KIND OF SERVICE!!! You will be asked for a HEFTY deposit (10K in our situation) before work is ever done, and they will be going on speculation with little to no examination.
