Was a repeat customer, I picked my dog up after a 1 week stay and ended up at an emergency vet clinic. The dr pointed out his issues had days to fester and get infected. Not seeking restitution, just an explanation of their negligence, no one could bother to return my multiple calls and emails. Would give zero stars if I could. read more

I advise any dog parent to take their pet elsewhere. Our dog was viciously bit by another dog while I was visiting family for a weekend! BHV told me on the phone the other dog was known to be honorary, and yet they still let the other dog come to their daycare. They also admitted they had a new person on that day. They offered a credit for the original vet bill of about 170, but when our dog developed complications and almost died they said it was a known risk and refused to pay the bill. They even tried to blame my dog for getting bit! A negligent and nasty business. As an update, the owner of the business has now replied claiming I gave false and exaggerated information. This owner knows they are in the wrong, and now they are besmirching my honesty. Shame on this person. They vet bill was directly related to the purposeful bite of the other dog, and so was the complication. Do you really want to go to a place that attacks their clients after their dog has been bitten? I don't! I've been 100 percent honest. read more

I literally can't rave enough about Barking Hound. I tell every single dog owner about how amazing both their facilities and staff members are. I have two dogs that stay regularly for both daycare and boarding. One of our dogs is very skittish and doesn't let anyone besides myself and my husband pet or put a leash on her. She would start shaking in fear when we would take her to other daycares and even when we started at barking hound. Now she literally jumps on all of the staff when she arrives and gives them all the kisses when she leaves. They are also very in tune with the dogs. They tell us if they notice anything off about either of our pups which I think speaks volumes. Also- we love the daily pictures they post on their fb page of our dogs during their stays!! If you are looking for a daycare or boarding facility do yourself a favor and come here!!!! read more

Great place for daycare and boarding. The staff are wonderful and always remember my dog's name. My dog loves to go here which makes me comfortable knowing she is in good hands. They also take wonderful pictures and videos of the dogs at play, then post on FB so you can see your baby. Can also assist with special needs and give a bath if requested. BHV Central is a newer location but this doggy daycare has mad potential!! From the second you walk in, the puppy sections & outdoor areas are all very clean.They keep the pups sectioned off inside and take them out 7+ times a day. I'm not sure about their other locations but Dallas Central is a little small. I don't remember seeing a playroom for them to all play together inside either. And they're not specialized in grooming but offer bathing services. The customer service was exceptional. They took special care of my lil Bro and even surprised me with an Instagram post updating me on his activities for the day! It is a newer location but like I said, they have potential! read more

If you love your dog, do not take them to the Barking Hound Village Central location. I dropped my 8 month year old puppy off for Thanksgiving thinking I was leaving her with nurturing and kind people, but I was wrong. Although I scheduled a bath, they bathed the wrong dog before pick up and I'm kind of happy they did because when I picked her up it was heartbreaking. She was COVERED in the smell of urine and her feet were soaking wet with what I assume to be urine. They didn't seem to care at all. I can't imagine how long she had to sit and sleep in her own filth. Not only did I have to give her an immediate bath when we got home, but I had to wash her bed and all of her toys. All reeked of urine. They only posted photos one day that week, and it's evident why. Please do not take your dog here. Absolutely heartbreaking. read more

My wife and I have been faithful customers of BHV for years - first at their Cedar Springs location and now at Central. Our French bulldog Norman LOVES his days at camp. He always comes home tired and happy. We've boarded him as well for both short and long-term stays, and he comes home the same happy and healthy dog each time. The staff is great - they always greet Norm by name, share updates with us related to how his stays are going and, in the rare case, if he's had any issues and we trust them like family. This place is amazing and so trustworthy. They are also very friendly. They are busy and require a reservation for a reason. The rotation is truly best for my dogs and I even have an English cream retriever. I firmly believe rotation is best. I've tried all day play and my dogs come home beyond exhausted. The owners, Lisa and Jeremy, and their staff treat their customer's pets as if they were their own. They genuinely love animals as is evident from the volunteer work they do for local pet charities. BHV Central is sooo cool I'm thinking about boarding my kid there. The human one. I mean if I had a human kid I would leave her there. The owners, Lisa and Jeremy have been in the business a long time and know what they are doing. There is almost NO turnover on the amazing dog lovin' staff. The building is pretty big, but still cozy. Like an Ice House, it opens up to high end artificial turf backyard(s), and generous sized custom cut kennels. Fun dog art - but the dogs don't care. Dogs only care about the great staff and the attention they get. They only care about the large yards and on-freaking time meals, and regular potty breaks. Other than that-dogs don't care. They do not care that The School of Rock is across the street, or that it's in an artsy centralized area - hence BHV Central. They don't care that the cutest pictures of them are taken all the time and posted online. Just a bunch of hairy beggars and thugs we can't seem to live without. read more
