I have over 25…read moreyears of experience hiring petsitters and was fortunate to have the same sitter for 12 of those years, so I'm very familiar with what consistent, reliable care looks like. The good: I was impressed with owner Susan's responsiveness during my initial call. She was friendly, helpful, and walked me through the process. Our meet‑and‑greet was scheduled a couple of weeks out, and the sitter we met was friendly and someone I felt comfortable with. Where things fell short: During our first three‑night trip, I was surprised to see a different person in our home for almost every visit -- four sitters total, only one of whom we had met. This was never communicated to us, and the rotating sitters did not seem familiar with our home or our dogs. Additionally, the time between the evening and morning visits was consistently 12-13 hours, which is longer than we were comfortable with (and documented in their portal notes). Our second and third bookings were short and uneventful, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, our most recent experience was not positive. Our dogs were not walked for the first two days because the assigned sitter reported they were "too sick" to walk them. I'm unsure why someone unable to perform basic duties was sent to our home. When I contacted Susan, she did not recognize my name, address, or dogs, despite having personally cared for them on a previous visit. She did step in to take over the remaining visits, which I appreciated. However, on Sunday -- the day before our return -- she called to say there had been an accident in the house and that it was "messy." She preferred to leave it to "solidify" because it would be easier to clean later. I strongly disagreed and directed her to the cleaning supplies. She was argumentative but said she would return to clean it. We arrived home the next day around 2 p.m. to find feces throughout the house, clearly from the prior morning. It was crusted, smelled like a kennel, and had been tracked everywhere by the dogs. This was despite three additional visits after the accident occurred. Since returning home, I have attempted multiple times to reconnect with Susan to discuss what happened. Communication has been minimal, and the responses I have received have been excuses rather than accountability. Bottom line: This is marketed as a premium service, but our experience did not reflect that. Between the lack of communication, rotating sitters, long gaps between visits, and the unacceptable handling of the most recent incident, the service has not been worth the cost, the stress, or the cleanup afterward. I hope this feedback helps others make an informed decision.

Memorial Hospital recommended Lucky Pet at Home Pet Services. With just a quick call, I had full peace of mind that my two furbabies and four parakeets would be in good, gentle hands. I was impressed with the thorough process from their questions, review of services being provided, sincere and caring attitude, and strong organization. Both Gary and Kaye were attentive and I had an opportunity to see their interaction with my pets when I got home. My babies absolutely loved them. I will definitely use them again if I end up in a similar situation. I highly recommend them!!!

I found this pet sitting service after getting recommendations from another neighborhood app…read more Several neighbors raved about them. They say they are ex-EMTs and I have two cats, one with a respiratory issue that requires a daily puff from an asthma inhaler. So pet sitting is a very necessary need for us when we go out of town (even for a night). When I contacted them, Gary (one of the owners) was nice and explained everything and seemed comfortable with the inhaler. We schedule a meet and greet and they never showed. Gary said it was tentative (I didn't get that impression when scheduled) and rescheduled another one. Both Gary and Kathy (the other owner) came to that meet and greet and we discussed the puffer and our needs and felt like we were on the same page. We did a road trip in May and they took care of the cats with daily 30 minute visits for a week. Actually, I scheduled ONE daily 30m block everyday that week, but they actually came multiple times a day (and night). Now, they didn't tell us in advance they were doing this. They didn't ask if that was OK and I had to call while on the road to figure out if there was and issue (they only did the daily report once so I had no idea and no other communication happened unless I called). I have doorbell cameras and pet cameras, so I can see if/when someone is in the house (all fully disclosed before service). They assured me all was fine and they just wanted to do extra checks on my asthma cat. OK....It was odd, but the cats were getting attention & meds, so great. When we got back lots of stuff was out of place and lights were on, which wasn't great, but all was fine so we thought we will try again. A couple months later I booked a daily visit for one day we were gone overnight. THEY NO SHOWED. They did not call, message or email. They did not answer any of my emails or messages. They have a portal and I can see Kathy (the owner) was schedule to come and did not. They STILL have not acknowledged any of my messages (it has been 5 days). My asthma kitty had a few episodes after the missed dose - which sucks. I just can't understand such a cold hearted and completely unprofessional company. These people seriously have a problem and should not be in pet care.

Then he got moved to a new area and it went downhill - fast. Nearly every week we had a different tech and they would miss our scheduled days without any notice. I completely understand that we've had a lot of rain and lightning this summer and am fine with rescheduling, but I would never receive a call or text saying they couldn't make it (as their company policy says the tech will do). The worst occasion was when they missed service by 2 days and showed up randomly at 6 pm while we were out. It wasn't even one of their actual employees - it was the employee's husband who the company admitted they have no information/employment records for. They also charged us for the service that day without completing it. I spoke with the manager and had that tech removed from our account and they credited our next service. The final straw was this week's service. The notes in our account say to let us know when they arrive so we can unlock our gate because our dog can undo the latch if it's unlocked. We waited all day and didn't hear from the tech but that night we got a bill for the service. I emailed back the owner and told him the tech didn't show. He responded that the tech did show and completed the service. I went into our backyard and it was clean. I asked the owner to have the tech tell him how they got into our locked yard and to cancel our service because there is no way they could have gotten in without hopping the fence, risking injury to themselves and/or damage to our property. I also told him that his employees no call no show frequently and have sent others to do their work. He emails back saying the gate on the right side has a chain that was unlocked and they walked in, but he'll cancel our service. I responded with pictures showing the gate is on the other side, there isn't a chain, and it's padlocked, therefore his employee must have hopped the fence since there is no other way to get in. The owner never responded or acknowledged any other concerns I had about his employees' behavior. I'm so glad to be done with this completely unprofessional company. I would not hire them again or recommend them to anyone.
