Dear General Manager, and Director…read more I am writing to formally report and express my profound disappointment regarding a serious security breach that occurred on March 5, 2026 at the Falls Church Marriott Fairview Park. I checked into the hotel shortly after 2:00 PM and, at that time, added my wife to my reservation. I provided her full name to the front desk representative, who confirmed that her information had been placed on the account. I was assigned Room 409 and given a parking pass for her vehicle. I specifically instructed the front desk that when my wife arrived, she should be provided with both a room key and the parking pass upon presentation of her identification. At approximately 4:00 PM, my wife called me in a state of extreme distress. Instead of being issued a key to Room 409, she was mistakenly given a key to Room 310. Unaware of the error, she entered Room 310 believing it to be our assigned room. Inside, she observed personal belongings that were clearly not ours, including a rental car receipt and a cellular phone on the table. It was only at that point she realized she had been given access to another guest's occupied room. This incident caused her significant emotional distress, nearly resulting in a panic attack. I had to calm her down over the phone. Beyond the emotional impact, this situation represents a severe lapse in guest security and operational protocol. My wife was placed in an unsafe and potentially volatile situation. Had the registered guest returned to his room while she was inside, the encounter could have escalated with serious consequences for everyone involved. This was not a minor inconvenience--it was a critical breach of trust and safety. As a law enforcement officer in this county, I am acutely aware of how quickly situations like this can escalate. Just days ago, a violent road rage incident resulting in a fatal stabbing occurred less than half a mile from your property. The gravity of this error cannot be overstated. Equally concerning has been the response from hotel management. My attempts to address this matter have been met with delays and an apparent reluctance to engage meaningfully. That response compounds the seriousness of the original incident. I expect a thorough explanation of how this occurred, what corrective measures will be implemented immediately to prevent recurrence, and how the hotel intends to address the distress and risk caused to both my wife and the other guest whose privacy was violated. I will also be forwarding this correspondence to ownership, as this matter warrants executive-level review. I look forward to your prompt and professional response.

The automated window shade operated by a remote was not working when I entered the room, so I asked for someone to come look at it. They assessed the situation and said they would go find out what could be done. They returned and said they could not adjust it but could offer me another room (not an accessible one). I chose to keep the room I was in. The room was super clean and as it turned out, the lack of window shade did not bother us too much. However, this is the second Hampton I have been to in a week where the bed and pillows just weren't cutting it! Has Hampton changed their bedding? I mean, both these trips end up with me tossing and turning, not ever getting comfortable with the mattress and pillows. That's a definitely first for me at a Hampton! The bathroom and low-entry tub met our needs with plenty of safety grab bars. The breakfast offerings were the usual waffles, 'hotel eggs', yogurts, hard boiled eggs, cold cereals, oatmeal and some fresh fruit.

I Asked the front desk if they had cameras, was told no, then explained the situation. The front desk agent, who spoke very, very little English, proceeded to not care, at all, only kept repeating, "it okay it okay"...I wasn't expecting an FBI investigation, but it would have been nice for them to at least pretend to care. Laundry room was horrible and gross. One washer and one dryer. For the price I guess I was expecting more. My mistake.

There was no trash liner in the trash nor there was any hand soap. We had to wear masks while we were there. We were disgusted. So we asked to be transferred to a different room, however we were accused that we brought the flies and the smell came from us. Kristin told us to evacuate the room immediately or else. This hotel has a boutique hotel feel. It's on the smaller side and feels a little hidden when you are approaching from the street. My Uber driver and I both had a hard time locating the hotel because the street level signage is only frosted glass that's very discreet. This is a pet friendly hotel. Meaning they allow animals in every room on every floor. As a person with terrible allergies to animals this was a little nerve wrecking for me. Although the hotel does not offer a non pet floor/ room in the hotel. They were very accommodating and showed me a few different rooms to allow me to see which would work best for me. The hotel offers complementary breakfast in the morning which had something for every dietary need. I don't eat pork and was very happy with the chicken sausage option they had. The rooms have a fridge, microwave, sink, dishwasher and full size fridge. They also have plates and dishes for you to use. There are a few restaurants within walking distance if you need to grab a bite to eat.

Staying in hotels today can sometimes feel like a gamble. As a Hilton Diamond member, however, I…read moreexpect more than just a room--I expect a consistently clean, well-maintained environment backed by quality control and attention to detail. That expectation is one of the reasons I have remained loyal to the Hilton brand. I understand there are things a hotel cannot control, such as downtown traffic, limited parking, or city congestion. Those inconveniences come with travel. What a hotel can control is the cleanliness of the room, especially the bed. Regardless of whether someone is staying at a budget motel or a luxury hotel, every guest deserves clean sheets. Before getting into bed, I followed a habit I've developed over years of travel and pulled back the bedding to inspect the sheets. What I found was both shocking and deeply disturbing. In the center of the freshly made bed was a large yellow, solid stain on the fitted sheet. The mattress protector and blanket underneath were clean, strongly suggesting that the stained sheet had been placed on the bed by housekeeping without anyone noticing or worse, without anyone checking. The appearance of the stain was alarming. It looked as though it could have been dried bodily fluid, such as mucus or semen. Regardless of what it actually was, no guest should ever be left wondering what they are looking at or whether the bed is sanitary. That moment immediately destroyed any confidence I had in the cleanliness of the room. This was far more than a housekeeping oversight. It represented a complete breakdown in the inspection process and supervisory accountability. Fresh linens should be inspected before they are placed on a bed, and the completed room should be inspected again before being released to a guest. Both of those quality-control measures appear to have failed. The front desk associate deserves recognition for handling the situation professionally. She was courteous, compassionate, and genuinely apologetic. She provided clean sheets so I could remake the bed myself, along with extra coffee and additional hangers. Her professionalism helped de-escalate an extremely disappointing situation and is the primary reason we did not immediately relocate to another hotel. Unfortunately, the response from management did not reflect the seriousness of the issue. My team consists of five people staying for six nights, representing a significant investment in Hilton. We seriously discussed leaving and moving the entire group to another property. As a Diamond member, I expected management to recognize the severity of a guest finding a stained sheet on a freshly made bed and to offer meaningful compensation--such as one night's stay being refunded or approximately 45,000 Hilton Honors points. Instead, the response felt inadequate and disconnected from the magnitude of the problem. What disappoints me most is that this experience is not isolated. Over the past several years, I have noticed a steady decline in the consistency, cleanliness, and overall quality of many Hilton properties. That is particularly discouraging because Hilton has been my preferred brand for many years. Loyalty is earned through consistency, not status alone. A Diamond membership should represent a commitment to excellence on both sides--the guest's loyalty and the hotel's delivery of the experience it promises. This stay fell well below that standard. My advice to every traveler is simple: always inspect your sheets before getting into bed. It's something no guest should have to do, but after this experience, it's advice I will continue to follow. I sincerely hope Hilton views this as an opportunity to improve housekeeping quality control, strengthen supervisory oversight, and restore the level of trust that has made so many travelers, including myself, loyal customers over the years.

Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by a friendly attendant who seemed genuinely happy to have us. I mentioned that we had just checked out of another property due to its poor conditions and overall atmosphere, and she immediately apologized. Check-in was quick and smooth, and she shared details about the onsite restaurant, which we later visited and found to be simple (pizza, salad, burgers, dessert, etc.) but delicious. The walk to our room was a bit challenging since I was dealing with some mobility issues, but I was pleasantly surprised to find the room spacious, clean, and nicely updated; completely different from the previous location. Within a few minutes, we received a courtesy call from the front desk asking if the room met our expectations and if we needed anything. That thoughtful gesture really stood out, especially after our earlier experience. The next morning, as we were checking out, we were reminded by yet another kind attendant that we should make time for the complimentary breakfast. For a small chain hotel that promises a "hot breakfast," this truly stood up to its name. The waffles came out perfect, fruit neatly arranged and edible, and the sides and drinks were also delicious. Although we only stayed one night, we slept and ate wonderfully, and would gladly stay here again if we're in the area.
