Had to get a phone battery replaced since Samsung refused to do anything about it (despite the phone being 12 hours old, I kid you not). The shop owner (Kenneth) confirmed that they could order the battery and had them ready for next day. So I brought the phone in today and the battery was quickly replaced within an hour. Parking here is more manageable at FMP and you don't need to go through a maze of alleys to find what you need. I had my micro sim card cut to nano and purchase an adapter kit with a phone case. Also you get a warranty slip for 2 weeks thats completely useless.. if you read the warranty policy on the paper, it clearly states it doesn't cover any damage to parts interior or exterior. Im out $300 for a screen they claimed is OEM which is really a cheap after market. First one only lasted 1 day had to go back got replacement that only lasted 3 weeks. Their warranty is only good for 2 weeks... guess they know it won't last longer than that. Went back within a month and they wanted to charge me another $280 what a joke. Got a headphone jack stuck inside my Iphone. When I went to Apple, they told me it would cost $300+ to fix. Which basically means I should just buy a new phone. [ positives ] - Fixed the power button on my Nexus 5 for $55. I had the common problem where the power button got "stuck" and it was cycling on and off during the boot screen [ negative update ] It's about two weeks out now and the button is now very funky - needs to be pressed super hard in order to work. Not a great outcome, will probably have to get it resoldered...again... :( Dropping from 3 stars to 2 for this. - Replaced my screen cover, per the offer on the Yelp page. Guy did a good job, no air bubbles, looks brand new. - Friendly attitude, much better than places in Chinatown or Pacific Mall. [ negatives ] Was told, on the phone and in person when I went in, that the fix would take about 45 minutes, or 30 min to an hour depending on the complexity of the issue. The young man took our phone number and said he would call when it was done. We went off to grab some food and walk around the mall, figuring that by the time we took the car to drive somewhere else and came back, 45 minutes would have elapsed anyway. An hour later, we went back and saw the phone still lying on the desk - he hadn't started fixing it because he had been taking care of other customers. We drive off to another store, call back an hour later, and the phone is still not ready. Finally, about 2.5 hours after we've dropped off the phone, they finally call to say it's ready. I would have rather they said "today's a busy day, it will take us about 2-3 hours" - and then we would not have wasted time waiting around. It's much better than setting up the expectation that it will be ready in under an hour, and then not delivering. I'm not a person who gets flustered, but the girl that works there seemed to have a chip on her shoulder. Not sure why... Maybe business is bad? As everyone would do at the first Markham place is negotiate a little when you're buying something. The fun in buying something is having a bit of give and take. Couple bucks off won't hurt anyone. But this girl clearly woke up on the wrong side of bed, told me off, saying 'Why am I so cheap?' Who says that to a customer?! She could've said it in a nicer tone. If you want business, then treat your customers with respect. It's called "Customer Services". My husband and friend went to get their phone fixed there and the guy was nice and helpful. Because of that, I brought my friend there to get a case. But clearly the girl was so rude and the none of the guys (even the owner) apologized or said anything to the situation. Mega box was convenient so I wanted to give it a try to fix the screen of my iPhone 6 despite the negative reviews. Happy to report that I had very positive experience! When I explained the problem I was having, the staff set appropriate expectations as there were various reasons why the screen could be malfunctioning. I also did my homework so I knew the type of answers to expect! Everything was taken care of in less than an hour even though there were two other customers there at the time I brought in my phone. These guys are liars!! They use cheap aftermarket parts but tell customers they only use original parts. After I repaired my screen with them, I immediately noticed the white wasn't white.. had a yellow tint to it and it was different color from my white home button. The color on my Retina display was also not the same, it's a lot more dull. But the shop insisted hey use original OEM parts. My Sony Xperia Z5 premium screen was cracked and I brought it in to get repaired. The repair was done and everything was ok. The phone is a business phone so I keep good care of it. Within a week of replacement the screen, tiny bubble came on the screen, and the screen got a lot of scratches. Now keep in mind, no wear and tear in a week of it being changed, not keys scratching the surface. However, it seems this screen is of cheap quality and prone to scratches easily. The lady there tried to get rid of the bubbles but scraped the screen even more. I am very disappointed at the service. read more

This place deserves a 4/5 and I'm basing it on customer service. My boyfriend's screen had been cracked and we came here after reading on reviews and seeing a good price. After the initial repair, we actually had to come back to this place THREE times. The first time, they had repaired the screen within 30 minutes. When we got home, the letter and number "w and 2" could not be inputted. Probably a screen sensitivity issue. We went back later that week. Again it was fixed within 30 minutes. When we got home, the phone had issues when making calls; the screen would remain dark when the phone was pulled away from the face. Another issue was that when we turned on the phone's screen, it would fade to black very quickly rendering the phone useless. We went back a day later and they had it fixed within a couple hours. It's been a week now and the phone works great. They have excellent customer service and truly care about the customers needs. Service was speedy and even though it was a bit annoying coming back three times (we live downtown), we had a good experience. I came to this place to have my home button fixed. After the lady assessed my iPhone she determined that I actually/apparently needed my entire motherboard replaced. I agreed to what she suggested and so she began to do the repair. Took her an hour (which was no problem at all to me initially) to fix it but when I got my phone back, it seemed to be missing the metal piece that serves as a bezel for the earphone jack. Upon bringing this to the repair woman's attention, she started frowning and showing that she was very displeased. She was handling my phone and her tools roughly (I did not even call her out on it) and later on informed us rudely that we have to wait another 30 minutes. It sounded as though she was trying to scare me into not having it fixed anymore but I did not take the bait. A day after the repair, I realized that my earphone jack didn't work as well as it did when we tested it out in the store. I came back to Megabox and explained the situation to the same 2 girls who were there the first time I visited. They tested my phone out and said that nothing was wrong with it and that they will not be able to help me out by replacing the new after-market earphone jack with my old one without charging me for the same price as before. It is not my fault that my original Apple earphones doesn't work with their defective part that is only selective to certain earphones. I guess this place does not know anything about good customer service. No etiquette, eating ice cream over their working area, and having unwelcoming body language. I should have heeded the warnings that other people mentioned in their reviews. But, as the saying goes "You live and learn". I hope that this review serves as a warning to others. 1- I dropped off a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 for a glass replacement. 2- Went to pick it up the next day. 3- Doris is the only one in the shop and she is very busy on a phone call to give me proper attention. No other customers in the shop. Doris needs to take a course in good manners and how to talk to customers. 4- The broken glass was replaced, but the glue was left to seep out onto the frame in several places. 5- The S-Pen (Stylus) was stuck inside the phone and would not come out. 6- Doris called Calvin who started a song and dance about how the frame was not straight and that he did not take the S-Pen out when he was working on the phone. 7- I explained to Calvin that this is a bad job and I was supposed to pick the phone up and leave and not wait for Doris to try and clean the glue and maybe try to get the S-Pen out of the phone. 8- In the end, I got fed up with him making excuses and Doris being rude that I just threw the money on the counter and left with my phone. 9- I got home and opened up the phone and managed to pry the S-Pen out and from the included picture, it is very clear that the S-Pen was glued to the frame (see picture). Initially when battery was replaced, it seemed to be a defective battery, however upon the next day I was able to phone them up and tell them my battery draining a lot, so they were able to get it replaced the following morning. Made a Yelp account just to review this place. My phone stopped working when I plugged in a third-party fan attachment to it. I went to the Apple Store and two stores at Pacific Mall to see what was wrong. Neither of them were any help. The Apple store kept pushing towards a replacement, while Pmall was pushing for a motherboard replacement. They told me it would take 2/3 weeks. I almost gave up, until I saw Mega Box's Kijiji ad. I called them at 7:45 and they said they were going to close at 8. I asked him if they could stay open until 8:10 for me, and they agreed, which was very kind of them. When I told them about my experience at Pmall, they told me I had gotten lucky, because of stories of them stealing phone parts. They spent around 5 minutes with the phone and they tried to put a new battery in. Magically, the phone turned on again. As you would expect, I was very surprised. Went in for a battery replacement for my iPhone 6s, charged $60+ for the battery to have to take it to another place and pay for a whole new replacement 5 days later! They didn't secure the battery and also damaged my screen trying to get at it! 3 puncture marks. Thanks a lot! The battery they gave me, I was told, was not the correct one and since they didn't secure it in my phone it just moved around. The battery went from 87% to 99% back down to 70% and kept flip flopping back and forth till it finally hit 7% and I wasn't able to do anything with the phone at all! I would recommend going to a place like irepair or another high rated place. Don't go here. [ reply one ] I'm assuming you have no record of that phone as a battery replacement because the wrong battery was added into my phone. I have the bank statement and receipt saying battery replacement from you guys from July 10th. 6 days ago. As for the puncture marks, the phone had 0 marks on it as it was in an otter box defender case since day 1. I did not check the phone over once you gave it back as you guys had put the case back on it for me and I had no thought that you could mess it up. But you did. I was told by a professional that the battery was wrong, the phone did turn on only because the battery you had replaced in it had and original charge to it, the guy who actually fixed my phone showed us, once he took the battery out, that there was no tape there. No adhesive nothing. Someone needs a bit more training as to how to do their job... obviously. Didn't bother contacting you as all the signs in your location say no refunds or exchange. We used the services of Mega Box to replace a cracked screen on a Sony Xperia Z3. They were very honest with respect to the price and upfront about potential issues that could arise during replacement and after when we bring the phone home. We appreciated this honesty very much. The quality of the work appears to have been good (it was just done yesterday so only time will tell if it holds up) and the gentleman we dealt with very professional and personable. I went to this place in for screen replacement in early May, 2017 to fix my Asus Zenfone 3 Lazer. At first, my phone was in working condition and only the screen needed to be replaced.I brought in my own screen (the place didn't have one in stock) and a lady told me that it will take 1 hour to replace and there should not be any problems. After an hour I came back to find that the screen was replaced, but the digitizer stopped working. The lady told me that the screen is defective, so I assumed that she is correct (knowing that there is such a possibility). The second time I came I brought a new screen and now she told me that it again will take an hour. I waited 1 more hour, and AGAIN I find myself in the same situation where the screen is replaced, but the digitizer is not functional. At this point I decided to leave my phone with them and they promised that they will fix my phone within 1 and 1/2 months (due to the part being unavailable to them). The guy at the place also told me that they will call me to let me know when my phone is ready. After one and half months of waiting I give them a call just to find out that THE PART IS NOT AVAILABLE AND THAT MY PHONE IS NOT FIXED. This whole situation has been a waste of my time and money due to the unprofessionalism portrayed by the employees working there. I would not suggest this place anyone ever again! They say that they are able to fix your phone, but they weren't able to fix my phone! Don't bother going to this place as you might end up just like me. read more
