Had the Szechuan dinner with ginger beef. Szechuan fried rice was supposedly with chicken & shrimp but there was only 1 shrimp. There was a good bit of chicken though. It was good with decent wok flavour. There were sour bits due to the spicy flavouring being spread out unevenly. The ginger beef was not bad. It was crispy, didn't have too much batter & tasted pretty good. The spring roll was a bit dry, but sizeable & still decent. It also had pretty big slivers inside.

a couple of issues with this place 1) there are no utensils and they wont also ask you if you need one. so if you order take out, you have to ask them for utensils or else they wont offer it to you. 2) i ordered a lemon chicken, went there to pick it up and the old lady said she gave it to the other customer who ordered a chicken ball platter. so instead of correcting their mistake, she just told me that both are the same, same batter. but we all know that its not the same. if not for my limited break time and current state of hunger, i would have left but theres no decent food place in aurora that is open after 10pm so i had no choice but to buy it.

Got takeout, beef, chicken, fried rice and soup. All dishes were tasty, nothing bad to say. General Tao chicken was a little dry to my taste, I like more sauce, but my significant other prefers it this way. The restaurant itself is small and outdated, but it's nice to see how busy they were all evening, food speaks for itself! We will be back for more

Chinese food reviews are always tough because you have to look from the foodie angle or the casual eater angle Ok as the casual eater who is an office worker looking for lunch during the week then this is for you The usual $8 special offers an egg roll and fried rice with several specials I chose the General Tao Chicken which is the usual canadian fare and with veggies on the side was very filling amply portioned out I also added a Hot n Sour soup as thats my test food and it passed Hmmmmm well as a casual diner the mommy and poppy did a great job with a great meal is it real chinese food.??..no its canadian style chinese food so be happy to add hot sauce, soy or whatever to spark it up a bit. I have seen way to many people complain about the garlic spare ribs being garlicky...uh yeah its garlic spare ribs Actually a touch of salt opens the flavours up a bit many white caucasians will enjoy the fare as its what they can expect when eating out for chinese and the menu is geared towards that group As a foodie who has no qualms chowing down on pigs ear, rabbit and frog legs alla chinois then you may need to go elsewhere for that kind of stuff! i have eaten here several times and its always been a better choice than eating in a food court. The owner is nice and she must laugh as i grab the chinese newspaper to read (actually look at the photos) as she brings me a nice meal if i need to rate the decor then well its cosy and fun and its not the Four Seasons or Nobu but its the right decor for chinese food

My visit to Noodle Max would be one of these unexplained phenomenon. I was really hoping to try this hyped up beef noodle place in Richmond Hill, only to have my hope squashed by a long line up at 4:20pm in the afternoon. 4:20!!! WTH!!! On a snowy, slushy late afternoon, I blindly (and slowly) drove my way aimlessly to Aurora. I remember some Asian restaurant getting rave reviews up in Aurora and that being Noodle Max (maybe it wasn't so aimless). If you are someone who believes in destiny, I can tell you destiny will occasionally give you sxxxxy things. Noodle Max would be one of them. Noodle Max's main offerings are Lan Zhou style noodles and was it ever an unauthentic and underwhelming experience. I wouldn't go as far to say the soup was tasteless like water, but it's pretty bland. While the soup for Lan Zhou noodles are not generally crazy strong in flavour, it should still have the taste of spices. The beef slices were also pretty tame in flavour. They were ok. The main plus about their noodle was the portion; quite big. The noodle had better texture than most store bought noodles, but it did not have the proper floury taste and the limited flavours from the soup was not able to hang onto the noodles. Aurora used to be a black hole in terms of dining options, but not anymore. How Noodle Max continued to garner such a high Yelp and Google rating befuddles me.

It used to be a place with average service but good quality food and fair pricing. Now it is a complete and Uther failure. The food is no longer good. The prices have increased dramatically and the service has gotten next level bad. The latest time I took takeout will be my last. Theyve gotten so cheap that they cannot even use a proper lid for a takeout box for a baked rice as seen in the picture. This place is no longer redeemable and I would avoid it at all cost I've been burned one to many times on the food.

We ordered takeout from here a couple of days ago and it was pretty good!…read more I called in my order and there was a bit of miscommunication with the menu and some language barriers but we managed. Unfortunately one item was misunderstood and we received something different but it was still good. We ordered the beef with flat rice noodles and the baked pork chop on rice but requested it with chicken. We ended up getting the half/half cream sauce/tomato sauce with chicken and pork. I think I confused her when I asked for chicken however it is on the menu as baked pork chop OR chicken. Maybe it's just not a common request. Anyways, it was still pretty good, the pork chop and chicken were both tender, the rice was slightly golden in colour, I do wish it was a bit more fried rice-like. There was lots of sauce and cheese. The cream sauce had a distinct coconut flavour which was a bit odd but not entirely unpleasant. The beef noodles were great, gigantic portion, steaming hot and plenty of wok hei. We ordered cold lemon tea for our drinks, cold drinks were $1 extra, but it was worthwhile. The tea was made to order and it was perfectly sweet, lemony and not at all bitter. Prices were really affordable which is part of the HK cafe appeal. I think for the two dishes plus the drinks it came out to less than $35 and we both had plenty of leftovers. Value is definitely there. Overall it's a good option for HK cafe food in Aurora. Most of these restaurants are opening in Newmarket so this is a good option closer to home. Personally I feel that there are better choices in Newmarket but for proximity/value/taste I will definitely order from here again. I'd like to try some other dishes as well, I see they have some Cantonese style dishes that look good!

On top of the base charge, you must pay for at least 2 soup bases & this charge is pretty steep too; most other hotpot places either include the soups or charge only for premium soups. Even places that charge for soups don't charge up to $12 as this place does. At least the soups are very good - both tomato & pork bone were tasty. You get to mix your own sauces. Most are good, but sesame is super dilute. There's quite a variety of ingredients you can put in your hotpot. One category is skewers, which you can get yourself from the fridge. They are small & cook fast. The shrimp is quite fresh. The fishballs come with meat inside. Neither fish nor lobster balls are bouncy, though beef balls are pretty bouncy. There is one included cooked dish: crispy pork. It's sliced into finger shapes & is moist, crispy, flavourful & slightly spicy. A pity that they don't offer more cooked dishes! They have frog legs - so far I haven't found another place with that. They also have shrimp paste (other places give fish paste), which is good. For dessert there's fried buns which are neither hot nor crispy, served with watery condensed milk. There's also canned fruit bowls & 6 flavours of ice cream - the usual cheap ice cream with some ice crystals.

We had a great experience but for the two of us - the bill still came over 130 with tip which is still more expensive than most hotpot places.
