Best Chinese food in Aurora! If you're in the mood for sweet and sour chicken balls, fried rice and fortune cookies, this is your place. This tiny little, mostly takeout joint serves fresh, tasty Chinese food for a good price, plus the lady who runs the place is super sweet. Definitely not great for dine-in but amazing takeout. The restaurant itself has a couple of small tables for a quick meal but I have seen full out families having dinner here so it is possible. The place is clean but could use a refresh if they're looking to attract more dine-in customers but it's totally fine for me as a takeout restaurant. Our favourite dishes are the lemon chicken, crispy ginger beef, the house special fried rice and the fried wontons. Whenever we've ordered from here, we find the food still hot out of the fryer and fresh tasting. The meat looks to be decent quality, I never get grizzly pieces or fat/cartilage. The food, although deep fried, doesn't taste overly greasy and there's no greasy after taste so I feel like they must keep the oil clean. Prices are so reasonable, you could feed a family for under $50, which is hard to do in the increasingly pricey town of Aurora. The lady who runs the restaurant is so kind and sweet, she's so busy all the time but is so efficient and still always has a smile on her face. First time ordering from Mei Ling. They had a website with menu which helped in deciding which dishes to get. It's during quarantine period and this is one of the places that hit all requirements for us. 1. Delivery - if you order over $25. They use their own driver which might mean they'll care more about being clean, safe, etc. At least we hope. 2. Contactless delivery including tipping - Everything including tip was paid beforehand. 3. Clean - Everything was in a container, which was inside a brown paper bag with staple and another plastic bag over it. 4. Time - Was promised 45 mins as the restaurant had just opened and they arrived within 40 mins. 5. Food was nice and fresh. Have been going to Mei-Ling for years, so starting a review of a place that feels like home is tough, but since the food here is as good as it gets for Chinese/Szechewan, it deserves one. First off, EAT IN!. The place is small, poorly decorated, but comfy in a weird way. Kitty, the wife of the couple who own Mei-Ling will immediately treat you as ifyou have been there a million times. She knows most people by name, as there is so many regulars, it would be hard to count. OK, the food, because at Mei-Ling its all about that. You must have, in no particular order: - Yet Ca mein noodle soup filled to the brim with chicken pieces, pork pieces, veggies, shrimp and yet ca mein noodles in a steamy, spicy broth that immediately evokes "the best soup I ever had" response.. - Calgary crispy ginger beef. THE best you've ever had in a sauce so good an order just of it would be appropriate. - Szechwan chicken..see my photo attached herein - Anhy of the noodle dishes, and ALL of their house specialties. The worst chinese food I have ever eaten! I paid $47.00 for three dishes to be delivered. The egg roll, and Soo Guy was super greasy leaving me sick to my stomach. I gave the driver $60.00 asking him if he had a ten dollar bill. After he got my cash he didnt want to give me my change. He asked me if I was only going to give him a $2.00 tip. Ordered takeout this evening and wasn't impressed. The wonton soup was delicious and yes the veg. Spring rolls crispy, but everything else we ordered was a bust. Mei Ling's is my Favourite Chinese Restaurant, I like it better then the Mandarin. I have never had bad food or service. I travel from Mississauga just to have Mei Ling's. I cant wait till we move to Aurora. I will be there all the time. Keep up the GREAT food. A must to try. read more

Ate here a few weeks ago. Don't expect anything fancy. Decor's a little old fashioned but the booth seat's quite cozy. Food smells and tastes good. Singapore noodles were not greasy. We have been going to this restaurant for years and have enjoyed the food and service. We arrived about 5.30 and there were 4 customers seated. The phone was ringing. We were going to wait for friends and wanted to sit in the window booth. There was 1 dirty plate and a glass on the booth table. I asked for the booth and she replied sit here another table an actually said I don't have time to clean up. She is always the only person working and not only serves the tables but answers the phone for take out and serves the take out customers. We asked for water and she served water to customers who came after in us. It took for ever to get served. We got our food, it was ok. A customer on leaving yelled get some help. Really enjoyed the food here. I tend to stay away from Asian cuisines other then sushi because of the lack of veggie options ( or if something is veggie, it has a a meat broth in it). But they had a pretty solid amount of choices. The food was prepared very quickly and tasted great! It was really cheap to eat there. It seems like a lot of people do take-out rather then sit-down. That lady was very very rude. We asked if they have the Chinese menu. She replied:"No. You guys cannot read English?" We asked if they have the Beijing black bean source noodles.
