Rare is the review from me for a take-out experience, but these folks are still stuck in scamdemic mode, like it's 2020. Their choice, so I'll just shake my head and press on. Regardless, their Chin-Amer fare is absolutely fantastic, and we were RVing close by, so this was the (her) choice. One look at their fried proteins will tell the tale. Those were hand-made on the spot, Cochise. Yang Tze Pork had great char sui flavor, and sides were robust and delicious. We ordered from their 'family style' menu, and for $17 per, it was a heckuva lot of food. Wifey kept trying to order some other items, and I had to tell her we were already gonna get pounded with the amount of food we had comin'. Without a doubt the best Teriyaki chicken I've ever eaten, made in the original Chinese tradition. How odd to find this in Connell WA, a small agricultural town (pop. 5,400) that's easily 25 miles from anywhere else, in Eastern Washington. It was Saturday and the lunch buffet was $10.95. The buffet had only six items, which made me snicker. But I'm eating Keto style, so only took 3 items... teriyaki chicken, mixed vegetables, and deep fried chicken meatballs. Oh my God, was I surprised with the flavor of this pairing. We've all had Chicken Teriyaki, right? (...char-grilled chicken strips on steamed rice with sauce-outa-the-squirt-bottle. Right?). Well forget that! This was chicken sauteed in a mild-sweet-soy (full of meat drippings, like gravy! It was fabulous! Man, I'm going home to re-engineer that recipe! I love it when you discover some new food-approach that no-one's doing anywhere. This was that moment. And with the medley of steamed vegetables and iced tea...wow, just wow! Hours vary greatly. No dine in seating. Food is good, not typical "takeout". The sweet and sour sauce is different but delicious. Good service and quick preparation time. Recommend the crab rangoons. read more

Decent traditional Chinese restaurant, great food and great service for the size of the town that houses this local food destination. I have been going to this restaurant about once a month on and off since I can remember and have seen this restaurant change and adapt along with the growth and diversification of Connell, and am relatively impressed with the progress it has made. The restaurant is owned by the manager and the same person that established it, but that does not mean there hasn't been room for change as cooks and recipes alike have changed over the years. This restaurant is pretty traditional in both food and ambiance but the demographic of the town (about 50% Hispanics including myself) has made for an interesting choice in terms of what dishes are done really well rather than average. When ordering something spicy be aware that it WILL be spicy as people have complained in the past that it isn't spicy enough, but in my opinion this is still done tastefully. Only big downside is the relatively small amount of menu options and even less options that are done really well, but a safe bet is steamed rice and anything spicy! read more

Upon recommendation I ate here while in Connell. Really? Just ... don't eat here. As much as I love greasy, cheap Chinese this was barley edible. I had the buffet which included fried rice, chow mein, sweet and sour chicken and pork, a vegetable, and some sort of dumpling.The chicken and pork that was deep fried had an almost burnt outside and the sweet and sour sauce that came on the side was ... disgusting. It was brown (which was odd to me, as every other sweet and sour I've had is a red/pinkish) and it tasted like grape jelly. Seriously. The dumpling was mostly wrapper, not much meat. Not very tasty. Maybe I'm spoiled from all the mediocre Double Dragon and Shanghi I've had in Kennewick, but my stomach hated me for the rest of the day. Not wort the $8. read more

Ok I came to Connell to visit my pregnant fiancée to bring her dinner for work. I called and placed a to-go order...I lady I initially talked to was very rude on the phone. I was a little nervous about placing the order after talking to her on the phone. When I arrived the restaurant has just closed..the owner was very inviting and made me feel at home. That eased all my worries..this is a reason why I rated this place only three stars..the food is very good..and I do support small businesses..so check it out! Small place, staff and owner remember their customers by name, the lunch buffet is best if you go early. The Pad Thai is wonderful: BIG shrimp, and not stingy with them (I think there were six or seven). I like it Thai HOT and I always get exactly what I order. Their other items are good too, I always ask for my vegetables to be lightly steamed, not thoroughly cooked, and they are happy to accommodate my tastes. All you have to do is ask. Broccoli Beef is great, spring rolls are wonderful, egg flower soup (Large) is very good, Pork friend rice is very good, but not overpowering. For a small town, Connell is very fortunate to have the Mei-Ling Inn. This is not drive through quality, this is sit down quality. Yes, they could update the furnishings, but who pays attention to that when you have steaming Pad Thai coming your way?? read more

The owner is very personable, service was excellent and portions were off the chart. Sort of dingy and dated decor, but nothing that would keep me from ordering or lead me to believe I would have such a memorable experience. Then came the food, I will never forget the food, it will be a cold day in hell before I ever eat there again. Absolutely the worst attempt at Chinese food I have ever eaten. Even worse than the King Buffet in Dickinson North Dakota. The chicken had a Pleasant exterior, was tender, but tasteless. I don't know by now to explain how horrible it was. Four bites in and I knew I'd had enough and I've had a lot of bad experiences dining out, but this one takes the cake. I've had better T rations and MRE's and would have much rather had the Ham omelette or Captains Crunchy Chicken MRE fed to me from a top a trash can lid served with a plunger. Horrible, cannot believe I paid for that meal without complaining. Never again and I always give restaurants a second chance. Not this one, never again. read more

On a trip from Cheney to the Tri-cities I stopped in Connell for a quick bite to eat. Service was excellent and the food was very good. An enjoyable experience on a cold rainy day when I needed to make a longer trip than I wished. I recommend these nice folks to you. read more

I ate at this restaurant while I was staying on Connell on a job--it's one of only a few restaurants in the town. They serve mainly Chinese food, but also have a couple Thai dishes. I ordered the Phad Thai and it was delicious! I wanted dessert and they brought me a bunch of fortune cookies (which I love). The interior is cute, good atmosphere. The restaurant is easy to find, right on Connell's main street. I'd definitely eat here again. read more
