They sell some beef jerky here but you are encouraged to order food from a BBQ joint down the street. They have a large variety of beers on tap and they are from different micro breweries. My husband and I went exploring around the delta and when we got to Locke, someone referred us to Mei Wah saying "if you like craft beer, you have to go" so we basically were like "which way?" When we got there on a Saturday early afternoon it was still pretty quiet, but it started to pick up pretty fast, and I can see why. This place is fantastic! The atmosphere is insanely fun, super clean --- you can never be too thankful for a clean restroom -- and the beer selection was perfect. I was so excited to have Evil3 as an option. Jennie was our bartender, and she was so knowledgeable about the beer selection, local brewers, the area and its history.. you name it. It was really nice just hanging out and chatting with her for a few hours. I'm hoping we can get back there next weekend because it was a fantastic experience. read more

Mei Wah, oh what a cool place. Tried kombucha for the first time, kinda LOVED it. The atmosphere in this place though, WOW!! I really truly loved every single thing about it from the fascinating collection of photographs in the entryway to the bad ass sink in the bathroom at the very back. Awesome place, love the decor, fast and courteous service. We decided to take a drive from Lodi to check it out on 12/29/19. We got there just as they opened, we were greeted as we walked in, I noticed that everyone that walked in was greeted by the server. Great selection of micro brews, they have 24 taps to choose from. I was impressed that it isn't like almost all the micro breweries now, 60 to 75% of the beer is IPA's. They have a nice even selection of beers. As many of us home brewers feel, it's time for this IPA fad to run its course, but that's just me. Staff and customers are very friendly, it draws local folks and Delta lovers so we all have something in common besides beer which makes it very easy to strike up a conversation. MWBR is a great place to hang out with a cool one. There are 20+ beers on tap, mostly local and regional. MWBR is in historic Chinatown in Isleton. The building has an interesting history. The owners have done good job of restoring the building. MWBR does not serve food but there are several eateries near by and several customers brought food from them. The only reason it's 4 not 5 is the Room didn't have AC. Will definitely stop by for a beer again. Open Thursday- Sunday. read more

My husband and I happened upon this place while house hunting. The decor is unique, the owner couldn't be nicer, and the beer selection is phenomenal. We really enjoyed the California Creamin' but the Navy Seal Nitro was great too! There's a BBQ joint a few doors down you can order food from and they'll deliver it to this business. Great new place in the little town of Isleton up in the Delta, just a bit south of Sacramento and an easy drive from San Francisco. A carload of us went up to see our friends who created this new beer hall and wish them the best! They spent many long hours building out the historic space and they did an excellent job of it, lots of great details, cool colors, fine old photographs and graphics relative to the area and the history. The 23 different beers all sounded appealing - I did a 'Flight' of 4 so I got to taste a variety of beers that Iva suggested for me since I know very little about craft beer. They were all very good, each one different. Now I know what a 'Kilt Lifter' is! They also have a few other drinks - Kombucha and some 'Hair Raiser' Nitro Draft Columbian Coffee. A few doors away is Marvin with his BBQ ribs and chicken and sides. The whole area is worth exploring for those that have never been to the Delta - so much history in these old towns....make a day of it (go early in the day to see everything and to explore) and be sure to visit the Mei Wah! I stuck out like a sore thumb (I guess). But, the staff, and customers were really great. Fantastic beers on tap in a quirky little town (I live here part time). Perhaps I wouldn't have stuck out so much if they lowered the lights. It is super super super bright. It's mind boggling. If you want to check out locals and indulge on great beers on tap--go now. An amazing beautiful beer room in the delta's hidden gem, Isleton, CA. Proprietor Iva Walton offers 22 carefully selected beers and ales on tap, along with craft Kombucha and nitro coffee! The interior is fantastic, down to the last detail. long bar seating, tables, a small parlor style corner with a sofa and chairs, and even an authentic opium bed! Very reasonable prices, and Iva knows her beers! She helped us find just the right brew, and was extremely generous in letting us taste others; I now have a new favorite. The atmosphere is very friendly, with a great mix of locals, people coming just for the Mei Wah Beer Room from near and far, bikers, antiques shoppers from down the street, tourists, and people just passing through.
