I was running errands in the area and was looking for a chill place for a quick afternoon suds. I usually go to Downtown Brentwood, and go to the Beer/ Cider place next to Sips and Scoops. I was more closer to Lone Tree off the Highway 4 Cutoff. I saw that they had a Marzen among local Beers. They also allowed outside food. which took advantage of. I had ordered a Marzen from Ghost Town out of Oakland. It was served in a standard Oktoberfest mug. I also grabbed a beer to go from the Fridge which was a Faction Pilsner, The Beer tender was friendly and informative. Came here on a friday night with a friend for the first time and it was a vibe to be honest! They have indoor and outdoor seating. We sat outside since it was a nice night. They have a bunch of selections from tap and cans. I didn't try the food because we ate beforehand and they closed the kitchen at an earlier time. To order, you go up to the bartender and they will hand you what you ordered up front and then you can take it to your table! Staff were very friendly and they can give you some help if you are unsure on what to get. My favorite was there pink guava! This is one of our favorite places to go for a drink in Brentwood/Antioch area. It has a great location, lots of parking, great selection of beers, ciders and seltzers, and good snacks/food. I LOVE that they carry Untitled Art seltzer. I haven't been able to find it at many places, and it's so good. The food is awesome too, if you like a casual dinner and small appetizers. The flatbreads are phenomenal, as is the charcuterie board. It's a great vibe and atmosphere. I would go so far as to say the best place for a beer in the area! Hop Asylum is absolutely awesome. We stopped in about 1400 when there was a small crowd. The staff was very friendly and talkative. They were pleased to answer questions and share their knowledge. We ordered a pastrami panini and a chipotle panini and both were outstanding. For those who like stouts, Hop Asylum always has stouts on tap in addition to several bottles of stout available, too. First time dining at Hop Asylum, and will be back for sure...even though we are both at least 30 minutes away from Brentwood. Great job Hop Asylum, keep up the great work. This is the only craft beer bar I frequent in Brentwood. The beer tenders are knowledgeable and fun loving behind the bar. Brian, the owner is usually around and willing to talk to all patrons who come in. The beer, on tap, shelves and the freezers is quality! East Coast, local and in between there is always some new and unique to try or take away. I've yet to be disappointed in what Hop Asylum has to offer.
