You will walk in and expect a brewery and see a restaurant. GIVE IT A CHANCE!! The good stuff: 1. Outside seating is available once the warm weather arrives. Gorgeous patio. Even if it's on Florin Road. 2. Two beers were created for each annexed/displaced people In the Vietnamese war: Vietnamese, Cambodian, Mien, Mong, and Lao. 3. Each beer has a story/history behind it. 4. The beer caters to the older crowd that loves Tsing Tao and Heineken. They created beers with that flavor pallet and made it their own. 5. They created craft beers for the younger generation and pair it with Asian food!!!!!!!! They literally have a beer that pairs with Pho!! 6. You can find their bottled beer in Corti Brothers now!! I'm so excited for this Asian Brewing Company and I can't wait to see their beers at all the other mom and pop Asian Restaurants. After an afternoon in the Sacramento area, I refueled with a late lunch at Anh Hong, a Vietnamese and Lao restaurant on Florin Road. The main draw for us, however, was that it also housed Asian Brothers Brewing Company. The founders wanted to tell the story of Vietnamese, Lao, Cambodian, and Hmong war refugees through their beer and started the first Southeastern Asian craft beer brewing company in the United States to tell their story. The owner, Michael, told us his story as well as other Vietnam War refugee stories as we sampled his beer flight ($10 for 5 beers). My favorite was the Cambodian Player, an Asian Amber that's named for the Cambodian phrase "we are players". The word "Player" in Cambodian means that no matter what happens, we will always be friends. Michael suggested we enjoy the beer with the Saigon Rolls and Papaya Salad. We followed his suggestions but also added in chicken wings and beef larb. All were good but the Saigon Rolls were definitely unique. Egg rolls with pho noodles on top wrapped in lettuce and topped with basil leaves. Definitely a great dish to enjoy the beer with! read more

After driving past this place for several weeks, I decided to give it a shot. Sadly, I walked out a little disappointed. I read one of the reviews saying that this brewery is not like any ordinary brewery...and i agree. There is a restaurant with this brewery. When you first walk into the place, you notice that there is karaoke and a stage on the right with a dance floor...and on the left there's all the seating. I happen to be there when they were hosting a party. The waiters and owner were nice and greeted us when we first walked in....they did sit us down...but they took a while to wait on us. When i tried to order a beer...half of the beers on their list were all gone...they actually only had 3 beers remaining. I tried the Tropical IPA...it wasn't bad. The food here was alright...not great. With all the asian restaurants nearby, it might not be a bad idea to go eat there, and come here for the beer...if they have a full beer menu. Located inside Anh Hong restaurant, Asian Brothers Brewing Company can be hard to find if you don't know what you're looking for. Once you make it inside, you might even think you're still lost. It's not your typical brewery, by any means, but Asian Brothers Brewing is dishing out some fine craft beer outside the traditional California standards, so it's fitting that the rest of the experience falls outside of the norms, too. There are five beers on tap, with their selection including an adjunct lager, Pilsner, pale ale, amber ale, and tropical IPA. Their emphasis is on creating craft beer that falls within the stylistic guidelines of more traditional Hmong, Lao, and Vietnamese beers. The lagers are crisp, light, and fresh. The ales are fruity and balanced without being too overwhelmingly bitter or alcohol. Again, it's a welcome deviation from the norm, and a friendly reminder that beer doesn't have to be 8% or assertively bitter to be good. Price wise, the beer is an excellent deal, too. A flight of five beers is just $10, coming to $2 a taster. The food options looked great, and food is provided by Anh Hong, which houses Asian Brothers Brewing. I didn't grab a bite this time around, but would absolutely consider it, should I revisit the brewery with friends. If you're in the area, make sure Asian Brothers Brewing is on your radar. As an Asian beer enthusiast, it never crossed my mind that I've never drank a craft beer brewed by a fellow Asian, so when I saw this place listed in the SF Chronicle Beer Map, I knew I needed to stop by. As the others say, not your typical brewery as it's part of a Vietnamese restaurant, but I enjoyed every part of it. As a good Asian, I gotta get my good deals and this place has an awesome flight (5 x 8oz = 40 oz) of five out of their six brews for just $10. In SF a 16 oz pour costs like $8 or $9, so this was an awesome value. Love the pale ale, great aroma and taste. Keep up the good work! read more

This place was a really great choice. Obviously things are a little different than they probably are normally, you know.... with the pandemic and all... but we were really happy with it. We tried 3 of their beers (54, Blonde Khmer, and Cambodian Player) and the Saigon Rolls. All were wonderful! The thing I really appreciated was that each beer had a story to go with it. I came away feeling like I had learned some new things about these cultures that I was unaware of. It appears like perhaps the brewery/restaurant is under some construction or restructuring of the business. I got the feeling that perhaps they were experiencing some growing pains, but I really hope to see them continue to grow into the popular brewery that it deserves to be. We were 1 of only 2 couples on the patio, which was great for social distancing, but I really do hope to see their business prosper! read more

This has become a go to place for our group, Sacramento DSA, whenever we have meetings or events down in South Sac we end up right here drinking, eating, and singing. Remembering why we keep coming together, outside of a common vision, is because we actually like each other. It doesn't hurt that the beer flows like a river,the dishes leave you filled with a smile, and the KJ will play any damn song you want. read more

Had the Vietnamese IPA, pho, and a rice plate with shrimp and beef, plus a taste of their blonde ale. The IPA wasn't as hoppy as that found in many local brewpubs, and the tropical flavors noted in the description didn't come through very strongly, but it was perfectly adequate. The blonde was nice too. The pho broth was lightly seasoned, with meatballs and what I am guessing was flank steak. It was good, but I missed the touch of star anise that I'm used to. The grilled shrimp and beef were both quite tasty, and came with some very good seasoned rice and a good salad. The table next to us ordered the seven course beef dish. It came with lots of greens, and looked wonderful. We'll be back to try it, for sure. read more

We found this place through the sacramento beer frontier brewery passport. Pretty sure this is the only brewery that serves southeast asian food. The owner, I think, was super friendly and told us that Asian Brothers Brewery is the first asian craft beer in the U.S.A! The food was good and my white husband really liked the beer sampler haha! The inside of the restaurant/brewery could use some TLC and is in a hidden location off of the freeway but I'm sure when the lights are dimmed and music is playing, it could be a great place to chill with friends and EAT. Before i type this review i just want to say don't believe the naysayers read the other reviews and pay attention to them. I'm not a picky person i like beer and good food and these guys deliver just that. I walked in and got a warm welcoming, got a full flight and i am pretty satisfied with the tastings. You go in and it's pretty much open seating. Service is a bit slow. The elderly lady who took our order stopped at our last person and didn't take his order. She said she'll be back! She came back probably 10 + minutes later. . I excitedly ordered a lychee mojito because lychees are delicious! Sadly, it tasted like they opened the can of lychee and it sat for a long while because I could taste the metal oxidation! Yuck yuck yuck! I can't fathom wasting a drink but this drink I did! One sip was all I needed to know NOT to order mix drinks from this place! The beers they brew themselves tasted fine! Food was good! This place doubled as a restaurant as well and they had karaoke also. I really wanted to support my fellow Asians but sadly the unorganization left me a bit flustered. I wish I could give 10 stars! My friends and I had the pleasure of trying this place yesterday and all I can say is WOW!!!! The owner Mike is so personable! He took the time to recommend food choices and the best way to try the beers. He is passionate about his Asian beers and gave us the back story on their names and the history. I was born and raised in California and did not know a lot of the Vietnamese, Lao or Hmong history from the perspective of someone who lived it and came to our Country. Not sure what I enjoyed more, the beers, food or the conversation (big thumbs up for Lao Jungle and the egg rolls). We loved the dipping sauce so much Mike surprised us both with containers to take home! For all you foodies and craft beer junkies like us, this place is a "must go", you will not be disappointed. Decided to head to south sac to get some decent food and stopped by ABBC. What a find! Food was good - had the Lao sausage, Saigon rolls and fried shrimp. All tested great. This place was great! My parents and I stopped by after seeing it right off of the freeway. Michael, the owner, was very nice and funny. He gave us a bit of a history lesson and why the beers are so personal to him. The food was delicious! We got the happy platter and Saigon rolls. Brought some home for the rest of the family and they loved it too. Our favorite beers were the Loa Jungle IPA and the Money and Gold Pale Ale. The only thing is that it is a little difficult to find since the brewery is inside of the restaurant. Overall great experience! Will most definitely be returning. read more

First of all I have never eaten here. But I have a complaint about one of their drivers. On July 21st, around 10am in Rio Vista, I had one of their vans cut right in front of me, license #68014T2. He then continued driving NEVER using a signal light and ran thru 2 (two) stop signs. And one was on Hwy 12. Those are the people who cause the accidents, because they don't give a damn about others. I DON'T care about how good their food or beer is, just that their drivers have some consideration for others. So PAY ATTENTION FOR OTHER CARS, USE SIGNAL LIGHTS AND STOP AT STOP SIGNS. It took me a minute to find this place but I'm so glad I was patient!! I drove around and around looking for an Asian Brothers sign but when I didn't find one I just called and the nice owner told me they were located inside a restaurant. I was the first customer of the day and he was willing to give me a stamp in my beer passport without a beer but I've never had Asian beer so of course I had to purchase some. I got the flight for only $10 and it had 5 5 ounce pours!!! Unheard of for a flight. He sat me down and gave me a brochure with a beautiful history of the restaurant as well as each beer. I paired my flight with Saigon rolls and enjoyed a quiet meal being the only customer in the place. I would say that this can't be called as a brewery. When I was there 2 out of 5 beers for the tasting flights were out. It was Karaoke night and the whole family who seemed to have rented out the place were really loud and drunk but no one really stopped them. I don't think I will visit this place again. When you first walk in, you are not sure if this is a brewery or restaurant... Fact is, it's both. The food is top notch, and each beer is uniquely craft AND also clearly Asian. Brought home a wonderfully mixed case of the different beers. Phenomenal job by Michael and family!
