The construction inside was horrible, deli closed, pharmacy located in a bad area of the store, produce a week or more past expiration date. Staff was very friendly and helpful but the store layout was very bad during construction and I wouldnt buy any perishables from here, they have already perished! The 2 stars are for staff and their helpfulness, there really isnt much nice to say outside of that. read more

I love Hill Road. Most especially the Pharmacy. They are so helpful and when they were worried that my doctor was prescribing too many opioids and my sister explained the situation, there was no longer a problem. They have been there for me for every question about medications that I needed answered. They keep me up to date with my vaccines and I appreciate their vigilance. read more

I use grocery pick-up at a handful of stores, Kroger, Meijer, and I even drive the 45 minutes to Whole Foods to do pick-ups quite frequently. I've always loved Meijer, growing up in the area, but I just moved back a few months ago, and the quality has really gone downhill (this whole area has really gone downhill :() I go to Hill Rd and Morrish Rd mostly. My last handful of pickups, between both places, have had *clearly* rotten produce in them. Twice, I've gotten clearance-priced, same-day-expiration produce, and been charged the full price, as if I was given a fresh one. And Meijer is the only store that does not have an easy way to return/refund bad produce. At this point, i think it's on purpose. They send me survey requests, I answer honestly about the food I pay for, bring home, unpack, and immediately throw in the garbage because it's bad-- and every time, I get a response saying it's easy to do a return-- just bring it back to the store. If i'm doing grocery pick-up it's for a reason-- having me drive the 15-20 minutes BACK to the store to do a refund does not make this method convenient. This last time, i got some email from some general manager who said to just call this number, and they can do the return over the phone. The email before that told me to call the customer service number and they can do the refunds over the phone. After this last order (which was my 3rd or 4th order in a row with bad produce, plus the handful of sporadic ones prior to this past month- At this point I'm probably about $25 or so into immediately-thrown-away food) I called the customer service number. It told me i had a 729 minute wait. THAT'S NOT A TYPO. I called the number with the extension that the GM gave me, and it immediately said this number isn't available, try another extension. No, this is not a "convenient" way to do refunds. I will stick with Whole Foods and Kroger for my perishables. At least in those situations, the pickers try to pick quality, but I understand sometimes they make mistakes, but they can quickly be remedied. At Meijer, i'm getting VISIBLY expired and mushy brown rotten food, and at this point it seems like a way to make money on bad items that they know the people won't take the time to return because of the inconvenience. Two stars, because the people have always been very nice. They clearly seem understaffed, and I know that has to suck for the employees. Update: I had to buy some nonperishables, I decided I can still use Meijer as long as I stick with stuff they can't poorly pick. Oh. Nope-- they are giving me the most dented cans possible. You're not supposed to eat food from severely dented cans, as the integrity of the can and the lining are compromised, and botulism can develop through microcracks if oxygen is getting in. At this point, they've got to be trolling me. Changing to one star, because this is unbelievably absurd. What happened to Meijer?? read more

This company tends to treat its employees like garbage. When someone who has worked for 17 years, never been disciplined, always friendly and hardworking and helpful, is told to go home because they failed the health screening ( they were in contact with someone who tested positive for covid, and had one of the symptoms, but they did wind up testing negative while they were home) you don't f*cking NOT PAY THEM for that time, period! I really like Meijer and wish I had better things to say about this location, but their checkout is a mess. Not sure if they are being impacted by a labor shortage or what, but mid-afternoon they had 2 live checkouts operating with lines that were 8-10 deep and the exact same situation with the self checkout. Not exactly a great situation when you are buying ice cream or have crying kids with you. Very few employees to be seen throughout the store and zero sense of urgency as far as opening additional lanes to alleviate the backup at the registers. Otherwise, the store is clean and fairly well-stocked. read more

I AM COVID POSITIVE My Dr called in prescriptions to Meijer on Hill Rd yesterday at 9am, 1 for Zofran to help me stop throwing up (13 hrs in 1 day is just to much for the body and the other was for Migraines. I saw that the Zolfran was filled, and it showed the other was filled so I called yesterday, and they stated the Imitrix was not ready, so I decided to wait until today to try and see if they were ready. I called today and they stated that the Imitrix needed to be redone by the Dr, they stated they called my Dr. yesterday and today with no reply. I advised them my Dr was off ill and asked why they couldn't contact me and advise me they couldn't fill without talking with my Dr... I have been in contact with my Dr. daily this week at his home (I have his cell and home phone #s), this was the pharmacy manager I spoke with. I advised him had they contacted me I could have my Dr. call them right away. He said they don't have time to make 2 phone calls. As soon as I hung up I called my Dr and he called the pharmacy and got it straightened out. In todays world $$$$ rules, I will never do any business at any Meijers ever again. What pisses me off is it's Friday and had I not called my DR I would have waited until Monday to get my meds. F you Meijers, care about the patients not the $$$$$$ I would give them a no star is available. read more

Went into this store at 6am to shop for groceries & spent an hour dodging the cleaning crew & picking out things. When trying to check out with a bridge card, confirmed with a balance sufficient to complete the transaction, the computer system at this sad excuse for a grocery store denied the purchase & said the card had a balance of zero dollars & zero cents. After the cashier heard the card had funds on it, she continued to run the card & lock it out in Meijer's system. So, after 8hrs+ on my feet & an hour wasted in their store, now with melted frozen food, they expected me to play the "hold for a government representative" game while the government is shut down to fix their mistake. I feel Meijer's owes my girlfriend & myself for an hour of our time. Epic fail. read more

I went back to this Meijer today and was horrified! This store needs to be fined and closed down immediately! The number of unmasked and aggressive customers is out of control. I was checking out at a self serve aisle and the minute I was done paying, a mask less customer came and started checking out. He said, "I'm sorry, I'm in a hurry!" I replied, "No you're not" and quickly walked away. This customer called me back for my receipt. I told him to keep it. This is intimidation at it's finest! Was here yesterday on Wednesday, I use a buggy because I have problems with spine, nerves, and falling. $900 and $600, this was going to be over $900. For room issues we went to dog food, and a bit of non edible items, I told him that he should go through the check out, then he could come back and we could do edible shopping, this ticket was $460. Hubby came back and we went slowly down the each section. We had so much that this trip was going to be a big one! He could hardly push the cart, when we looked for the checkout line. Only about 5 lines open and the people waiting circled back and around. This women stomps around asking different people why they were in these lanes, then she turns to us and tells about 3 lines that we were not going to be waited on. Nobody went to help anyone. About being in line for an hour with nobody in any line moving; my husband looked at me and he could tell my back was in searing pain. We made it out to the parking lot, got in, to never be seen again. Got home, had him put pain strips on my back until I looked like the guy from the mummy, popped pain meds, and went flat on my back! If anyone out there can help us pick a grocery store in Genesee County, that has a great prices, l would love to go there. We might just use a butcher for our meats and then off to Sam's for pantry items! read more

This is not my favorite meijers in the state but it will do! Sometimes they run out of their feature advertisment items but you can get a rain check. It's closest to my mom's house so we shop here a lot. Their produce is hit or miss depending on what day the truck came in for drop off. The bathrooms are also a hit or miss unfortunately so I try to go before I shop here. I've had to say something twice to a manager but they did immediately close the bathroom for cleaning. read more

I went here after work to get some groceries..I walked in and half of the food section was closed off because they were waxing the floors. For a minute I thought maybe they are closing, "No big deal" I'm just to late.. After I asked if they were closing the lady basically ignored me and went to grab the manager because she was apparently bothered and wasn't able to respond to a question . The manager came out and offered to get the things I needed but after I rattled off 5 things he seemed confused and then not so willing .. So I said not to bother.. I'll go to a different store since he seemed like he couldn't help . He said "ok" and walked away.. I work nights. I understand you have to get things done while still being open. This is a older store and where I used to live in warren has a bigger one but this one is just fine. It fits our little town and just because it is a older one doesn't mean it isn't good. It just takes a while to figure out where everything is located. That's half the fun! read more

I like the selection of produce, many different choices to choose from which i really like. But i hate the layout of the store, i can never find what im looking for and spend way too much time wandering around trying to find where certain items are. The store is just too big, so if you plan on coming here make sure you have lots of time on your hands. And of course with a giant store they have like 25 or so registers but they are all empty except for usually 2 or 3 of them. I refuse to use the self checkout, i dont work there. The people are nice, but they are dumb as rocks. I called in advance of walking over from the local hotel area (it was 25 degrees out and blowing). They ensured me they carried what I was looking for in their store and when I arrived they laughed saying they didn't carry it. My girlfriend was given a sweatshirt from this store, unfortunately it was a size too small. We head into the store and grab the same sweatshirt a size up. Go to the customer service center and the lady, Alex, behind the counter was on the phone, treated us like we were bothering her because she had something in the back to attend to. She glances up at us, whispers "exchange?" So that it doesnt bother the important warehouse person on the phone. We say yes, she does some stuff, and says the money's back on the credit card. We wanted an exchange, she then realizes this and says shes sorry, tells us to "come back later with the person who bought it, to buy the new one", says it was her "oopsie". I pay for the new sweatshirt with my card, and we leave. If that wasnt bad enough, we call the store manager, and he tells us that we cant exchange, and she could only put it back on the card. Moral of the story, this meijer sucks! Customer service is so bad. Avoid this meijer if possible. read more

Every time my wife and I visit her family in Grand Blanc, we always make a trip to Meijer. The prices on most household goods and personal items are so much better than any of the other large retailers. The aisles are super-wide and the overall shopping experience is really pleasant. Fantastic options. Visiting the area and I was extremely impressed. However, upon check out the cashier Rene felt the need to be overly personal and moved my hair in order to read my sweater. I'm sure it was meant to be a part of making my experience memorable, however I have to admit it did make me a tad uncomfortable. Being from my culture and where I am from touching people without permission is not a thing we do. However!!! I highly do recommend this store. read more

This store has gone downhill and seems mismanaged. Plan on waiting at least 15 minutes in the check out lane. There are never enough cashiers working. I like to shop in Wednesday's as the shelves are restocked and it isn't busy. The last time I went, it looked a bomb had gone off - the shelves were bare and only 4 cashiers were working. I like shopping at meijer because it is one stop shopping. The produce selection is the best in the area. My biggest complaint is the amount of time it takes to go through the checkout line. Often it is a half hour long process and that is not necessarily during busy times either. I started grocery shopping elsewhere for a faster checkout experience. read more

I had a small Price Discrepancy of around a Dollar this evening. No big deal they can just call back and check the price. However this time they argued about the placement of the items price tag. I felt I was in the right so I naturally asked to speak to a manager. The manager at the time "Thomas" came over and told me "I was shit out of luck" and that he "Can't Change Policy for one Privileged Retiree". This is not the kind of attitude I would expect from someone working in customer service, much less a Manager! I honestly am not even upset over the dollar difference anymore as at that point I set down all my items and left!. I will no longer be shopping here due to this incident. read more

I was a Meijer customer for over 20 years and made my last visit to their store on Wednesday. I got into the checkout line of a clerk named Eugenia. I had been in her line before and she has never been friendly, but this time she was downright rude. She was checking out fine until she noticed I had cans of cat food on the counter. She then declared--loudly enough so that the people in the line behind her turned around--that she was allergic to cats and that my bags were "covered in fur." My canvas bags are washed on a regular basis and stay on a hook in the garage. They are in my house approximately 10 minutes a week while they are unpacked. I told her it was probably dog fur since my dog had been in the car to go the groomer earlier in the week. I then offered to pack them myself if it was a problem. She then declared loudly once again that she would be itching because the bags were "covered in fur." To add drama to the situation, she would periodically fan her hand in front of her face as if to shoo away all the imaginary fur. In retrospect, I realize that I should have had her tally up what she had already checked, removed the rest of my purchases from the counter and gone to another line since I was clearly inconveniencing her by having her DO HER JOB. I had about five coupons, and at the end of the purchase, she thrust three of them back at me almost in my face and declared she could not take them. No "I'm sorry," no explanation. When I asked why she said Meijer was no longer accepting printed coupons in black and white (even though they had the week before) and called the manager over to explain. The manager still would not take them and said they had too many counterfeit ones and all printed coupons must now be done in expensive color ink. I told her you cannot just change policy without giving the customers a fair warning. She told me the policy was posted on their website and at customer service. When Kroger stopped taking Smart Source coupons, they had signs posted at every register with an apology and an explanation. Apparently, at Meijer, you have to check their customer service center or website to find out what they are accepting that week, or just develop mental telepathy. Incidentally, when I got home my husband and I checked the canvas bags and were able to find about 20 dog hairs on six bags. Yep, definitely covered in fur. From now on all of my grocery shopping will be done at Kroger or Walmart. I have never been treated rudely by any of their employees, and they don't care what color my coupons are. read more
