This is so not the super nice Marshall Fields that was here before it was bought out by Macy's ten years ago. As average Macy stores go, this one definitely rates near the bottom in many respects. However, it's a Macy's, and they carry a lot of better known labels compared to other local stores. It needs an upgrade, customer service is only good in the housewares, men's shoes and certain cosmetic counters. Everywhere else, it's rather dismal. Some of the higher end brands typical at other upscale retailers are not often stocked at this Macy's. I wish it was a more typically upscale Macy's. It is undoubtedly going downhill a bit and the things I liked most about it are slowly evaporating. Once in awhile, they run great sales on my favorite labels, like Polo, Ralph Lauren and Nautica. On top of that, I like how helpful and nice the girls at the Clinique counter are when it comes to getting advice from them about the Clinique line of men's grooming products. read more

Just left with out making the purchase we came to make. Carmen the cashier argued with us the price of the pants and was extremely rude. After she ended up voiding the sale and trying again she continued to argue the price and I asked how the math adds up since the sign had 40% off for the pants to the point she walked over to the pants then finally gave us the correct price. When trying to pay then she argued with giving my mom her star points money off that she earned by all the shopping she does at the store. So in the end we left with out making a purchase with my mom who I was trying to help needs to get to a baby shower. read more

I ordered a product that was in stock on November 27, 2021. The product showed that it was being shipped. Today is December 12, 2021 contacted Macy's and was told they were sorry that the product I ordered had been sold out. How in today's technology did they still show a product listed and I was shown that I purchased the product and it took three weeks and me calling them to find out that it is no longer available! Very piss poor service!! Extremely dissatisfied and will no longer or ever again order from Macy's!! This is not acceptable by any means!! In some ways, I dislike this Macy's and in other ways, I like it a lot. Yes, I do wish this was a better Macy's. It's a shame that it's not. It's kind of subpar as far as Macy's goes, but it does have its strengths. Nonetheless, I shop here often and I've snagged some really good deals when I've paid close attention. In truth, it sometimes has felt like they gave me the merchandise, the discounts were that good. The best deals are usually in women's and men's clothing and housewares. I know all of the girls working at the makeup counters and the Clinique counter is clearly the winner here, with Elizabeth Arden a close second in terms of both customer service and selection. I tend to buy most of my clothes here, as does my husband. We like the Ralph Lauren and Calvin Klein sections the best. I wish the clothing sections were better organized. After their huge Macy's One Day Sales, the areas look like a cyclone hit it. It also seems half of the fitting rooms are routinely closed for no reason. I don't care for the shoe department too much, just far too much attitude to spare from the sales staff. The jewelry department used to be a goldmine of good deals, but I've struck out lately. The upstairs home department is nice and that's where you get the most service. I buy most of my towels and bedding and kitchenware here. It's probably the most well-organized section of the store, but they no longer have a Starbucks cafe upstairs or a restaurant. That's unfortunate. This Macy's used to have a really nice gift wrapping area downstairs in the customer service wing, but sadly, that is gone now as well. read more

Will never shop here again the customer service was horrible. After a year of using a mattress we purchased it started to sink in so we called to try to get a new one because I paid for the warranty they sent a guy out to measure where it had begun to sink in. There was no record that the guy was in our house or measured. When I called they couldn't find my name, after being on hold for an hour and three different customer service reps they found my name and said they were not going to give me a new mattress. Well first of all a phone call would've been nice instead of just leaving us hanging and wondering what happened to the measurements that the guy took and not being able to find my name it takes three people and they're all rude. read more

So fast forward I finally was able to get Macy's Credit Inquiry off my credit report! I had to continuously call Macy's then faxed them a paper stating it was fraud it took about 4 months to get it off! My husband went there 2 days ago and a clerk told him they are having a contest and wanted to "update" his Macy's card! REALLLY?? Wtf! So luckily he called me after I said HELL NO! What a dump. And what a shame. This store used to be beautiful, with gorgeous merchandise and helpful sales associates. I went in today to find a top to wear to a wedding, on a Monday morning, not holiday time, and the entire store was a disaster. Every pant table had pants thrown in a heap, not one pair folded. Every single clothing rack had clothes falling off the hangers. And the store was FILTHY. The carpet was full of stains, dirt and gum. I was really wanting to find a top for the wedding I am attending, but the sales associates were in no way helpful. They simply pointed and said, 'There might be some over there, but I'm not really sure' and went on talking about their personal lives. I wouldn't have even put one star, but I had to in order to leave a review. Really sad. Management needs to clean house, literally. read more

The Oakland Mall in Troy Michigan was one of the worst Macy's experience I have ever had. On January 29th at 1:40pm didn't have my credit card with me, so she tried to look me up via ss#. she tried 4 times and no success. I found the item I was looking for; A plain 2xl Nike fleece pullover hoodie. There was no sale price and the only reason I was tempted to buy at all is because I couldn't find the item ANYWHERE else! I try to find a kiosk to check out and made 2 laps around the store with not a single one of the customer service desks up and running. Macys must really be banking on selling perfume, because the only employees I saw where at the ridiculously large cologne/perfume/makeup counters. Not one of those associates offered to help. Do not purchase boys winter coats brand CB Sports. These are the worst coats I have ever bought we are on the second set of coats in only 3 months and this new set is falling apart literally by the seams. These were a gift and I'm embarrassed that the first pair fell apart and now the second the sad thing is I bought my grandson's coach from Kmart two years ago and they're still in perfect condition these wins literally fell apart at the seams twice. read more

If you want the worst customer service, look no further. Have gone here several times to visit the furniture/housewares dept and am always greeted with a sneer instead of a smile. If you want someone to make a purchase in your store you should probably help them or at least approach them. read more
